I knew there is a reason that I waited and hoped that you will get back and update :-)

I am starting to feel quite sorry for poor Arnav. the women in life do make his life miserable, don't they? His mother who has emotionally distanced herself from him and has not really been a mother to him, she has been busy being Aarti Raizada, the Raizada bahu with an absconding husband!

Now there is Shreya, who is clearly neurotic, a control freak and exactly the kind of woman Aarti is and one from whom Arnav would run a mile away cos he has seen where that leads.

And then there is Khushi who is so caught up in her guilt over Anjali's death that she is afraid to live and be happy.

Its strange but in a very basic sense, Khushi and Aarti are very similar. Aarti has allowed her anger to destroy all her other relationships and Khushi has allowed her guilt to destroy her ability to be happy and establish a relationship that gives her any joy. With Aarti no one else has a right to be happy when she is miserable, no mater what the cost and to Khushi she herself does not have the right to be happy no matter what the cost to the people around her!

So it is true that men tend to look for their mothers in their women. Look at Arnav! First Shreya and now Khushi!!! 😉😆

Interesting bit on the plantations. That is the reality of plantations coupled with the fact that tea gardens on most plantations in India are old so the yield is very low as well. Tragically, in the past owners have not really concerned themselves with the well being of the plantation workers who have been exploited. As a result the built up resentment has finally found a voice at a time when the plantations can ill afford increases and there is a real danger of them being closed down esp given that most estates are reeling under huge debt burdens.

My husband and I were very keen to buy a tea garden and run it as a kind of co-operative involving workers but the debts associated with most gardens are huge. That coupled with the low yield of aging tea plants caused us some pause for thought. But it remains something that we do think about doing. Who knows, maybe some day!

And how can I forget my pet peeve! Please post DND back on IF or elsewhere so that I can re-read it!! *** pouts and flutters eyes in an irresistible manner *** 😆

Lovely chapter so arnav is missing her as she is in his mind 24/7,hopefully they sortout their issues n khusi comes out of her self created guilt trip n give arnav n herself a chance

i dont know how it will play out... but with each update i feel everyone is digging themselves deeper and also reaching to some conclusion...its massively confusing and superbly engaging... i know i am saying all but love your storytelling which keeps me on edge... icant guess what happens in each episode, it makes a very satisfying read... looking forward to read asap:)

iam not going to say nice update and all that because iam mad at u.one for the non khushi update and other for leaving it abruptly when khushi called.i understand the importance of the other characters in the story but after the last update i was eagerly looking foward for a arshi confrontation or something like that.i have a question for u.why is ur arnav always letting khushi go away from him.in this story i want arnav to be the strongpillar for khushi in their relationship.it's not necessary the girl should be the one more sensible and supportive.it can be other way sometimes.

Such an insightful chapter Sandhya. Firstly I liked how Arnav and his chachu discussed the labor problem. How much research you did for this.. Secondly I liked how Arnav understood Khushi so deeply. Her guilt, her caring nature just from few statements and meetings. I loved the line where she didn't want to get rescued and he didn't want to get drowned.

Finally Arnav saw his mom happy, even it was for one evening. Shreya wad a surprise. But it was a nice read to know about their past. And now the call... so curious to know more :)
