The last line of the update and the rest of the update is a blur now. Hope it's a false alarm and periappa gets better soon but I am on a different tangent here. It's got me thinking on how a call or a msg about the illness or death of a loved one while far from home is all our worst fears realised.
No one wants to hear a dear one being gravely ill or worse and if you are far away or an emigrant , it's even harder to bear. It doesn't look good , you hv to come home ns then it's a race against the clock. Amma or vandu take maximum care to keep away periappa's bouts of sickness from II. And they would have been even more careful not to make II more anxious in her pregnant state. And that's why this msg now to II in Paris feels like an axe on tge shoulder, ominous tone to it.

I've heard from people of Generation Emigration, who hv gone through this of the sudden helplessness engulfing you, million thoughts exploding in your head, a last ditch prayer to be able to make it on time to say your final byes and your concern on the impact for your other loved ones and the flight bk is a blur.

For II, dude and Ranjanji are good people to have around her now.

May be, periappa will rebound from this , stay alive and may be II will get a similar call later sometime but for now , will be glad if he stays afloat to see II's little one.

Loved sri's lines on problems to face. Yeah it's a tough reconcilation , the arrivals and departures at the port of call called 'Life'

Poignant!!

How can he even think of staying away from his unborn baby and Wife.

And how can she count things around her as important. I find it interesting distances are not physical anymore. It's almost always there because we chose to stay remote. Staring at different screens in the same living room or simply refusing to pay attention to anything that challenges our description of ideal life.

Did you people catch the reunion of north and South Korean families after decades of civil war. Please do if you have not. These things remind me why I have so much to be thankful for.

Loss is difficult but how terrible is the loss of knowing your Father or Sister is on the wrong side of the border and you get 12 hours of family time after 63 years. A privilege for a few picked by a lucky draw 😭 .
