Not to mention the heavy clothes and jewelry in this hot weather here.

Registration and a reception, a simple temple ceremony. Wouldn't that b simpler? People in the family are falling sick left, right and centre working for this wedding. Feeling sorry for them.

Anyway, just came to say hi to everyone and a hearty congratulations for 53!!!!

Sorry about the rant. But sometimes formalities in the name of customs which are of no real value annoys me like crazy.

I had this huuuge scoop of vanilla with dry fruits embedded in it...covered with a thick blanket of honey

I just wish ppl would see the futility in some customs and be done with them. I agree we need a few, it gives us a sense of identity and solidarity. Just that it shouldn't be at the cost of anyone's health. Not to mention the financial drain. If someone can afford it, good for them. But to go beyond one's means just for the sake of society is so pointless. Someone mentioned to me yesterday that with the cash being spent on the wedding, the couple could've gone for a world tour.😕

I do get what you said though. Parents. Sigh...
