Part 14

Taani and Zoya

They arrived at the hospital; Zoya led the way to the front desk...Taani followed... her mind buzzing with thoughts of Rey...

"Reyansh and Sammy please..." Zoya asked...

"What are you doing here?" An officer said walking up to Zoya...He looked at Taani...

"You're not allowed to be here." The officer said...

"That's my business... Where are they?" Zoya asked...

"They just left... They were taken back to the Precinct for questioning.." The officer said...

"What? Already?" Taani asked...

"Yeh... they are going to be questioning you soon..." The officer said looking at Taani...

"She isn't a criminal..." Zoya said...

"Yes... but she is a witness... with her statement she could get them put away for life... I mean murder and Kidnap... they'll be old by time they get out... if they even do.." The officer smirked...

"Let's go Zoya..." Taani said leading the way out of the hospital...

"Where are you going?" Zoya asked trying to keep up

"The Precinct... I'm not letting Rey go to jail.." Taani said...as she got into the car...

"I'm afraid it's too late... they went against the law their bound to be arrested...you know that Taani!" Zoya said quickly...

"Not if I can help it... I don't care what they do to Rishi...but I will save Rey and Sammy..." Taani replied...

"How!! Taani... you don't even know the full story..." Zoya said...

"Ok Zoya... we have ten minutes till we get to precinct... fill me in..." Taani said... Zoya sighed but started talking... she explained about Sammy and Rey being brothers, how they wanted to avenge their sister's death by killing Abhijeet Sarin and Rahul Aurora... Sammy met Rishi in jail and they formed a group to kill the two fashion designers...

Precinct

Sammy sat in the empty room for a while, he could feel someone watching him but he had watch enough TV shows to know that there must be a bunch of people watching him from the mirror in front of him...

Arjun watched Sammy, he tried to figure him out... Sammy was fidgety... scared... he wanted to give him some time...

...

Khushi banged the door open to her room... She walked in and Rey looked at her... he was sitting at the only table in the room...Khushi banged a file onto the table with a loud thud... Rey sat back...

"Your name is Reyansh?" She asked sharply...

"Yes!" He replied curtly...

...

Arjun figured it was enough time... he left the mirrored room and entered the interrogation room his eyes not leaving Sammy as he placed the file on the table...

"Sammy! Right?" He asked slowly...

"Yes..." Sammy said... he could feel sweat forming on his face... even though Arjun hadn't even shouted... he quickly wiped it away... Arjun noticed this but pretended he didn't... he had him exactly where he wanted him...

...

"Did you murder Mr Abhijeet Sarin?" Khushi demanded...

"No I did not!" Rey answered...

"Yes you did... you pathetic excuse of a person... you murdered Mr Abhijeet Sarin to get revenge on you sisters Suicide!!!" Khushi yelled at him...

"Don't talk about my sister..." Rey growled...

"But that's exactly what happened... That gave you the energy to pick up the gun, point it at his heart and kill him..." Khushi whispered dangerously to him...

...

"Did you kill Mr Abhijeet Sarin...?" Arjun asked simply... he sat across the table from Sammy, Arjun had his legs up and looked relaxed... whereas Sammy was pouring with sweat...

"No... I didn't kill him..."Sammy said shaking his head quickly...

"Who killed him? Rey?" Arjun asked...

"NO... It wasn't Rey... it was Rishi he killed Sarin!" Sammy said he shivering with fear...

...

"So Rishi killed Sarin... why would he, he is a petty criminal... why would he kill for you?" Khushi demanded...

"He was in it for the fun of it..." Rey said...

"Whose plan was it?"Khushi asked...Rey looked at Khushi...

"Mine..." Rey said looking away

"That's just as good as killing him..." Khushi said...Rey didn't answer...

"Ok let's talk about the kidnapping of a fellow officer Taani..." Khushi said... Rey closed his eyes...

...

"Whose plan was it?" Arjun asked slowly...

Sammy looked around for a way out... he needed to get out of here...

"I asked whose plan was it?" Arjun repeated putting his legs down and raising his voice a little...

"Mine... it was my plan... let me go..." Sammy begged...

Just then there was a knock on the mirror...Arjun wanted to ignore it... he had Sammy exactly where he wanted...

"Give me a second..." Arjun said... He got up and left the room...

He came out to see Taani, Zoya and Arnav, Khushi came out of her interrogation room...

"What the hell guys he was about to crack!" Arjun complained...

"Tell me about it... I was just about to question him about the kidnapping..." Khushi said... her face was flushed...

"Im not pressing charges on the kidnapping...so you have no right to question them about it... look I don't think Sammy or Rey had it in them to kill Sarin or Aurora, if it was anyone it was Rishi..." Taani said all of that really quickly...

"We still have to question them..." Khushi said...

"What's the point of asking when you can't charge them...?" Taani argued...

Khushi exchanged looks with Arnav...

"Fine... They will still have to go to jail for attempted murder... and we need proof that Rishi really did kill Sarine..." Khushi said...

"Wait.. one sec..." Zoya said walking towards her desk...She came back...

"This is the report Purvi sent up when she examined body, she said she found a bullet with the initials RK on it...I guess you can ask them about it.." Zoya said...

"RK?" Arjun said looking at the picture of the bullets...

"Rishi Kapoor?" Khushi said...

"I guess he did kill him..." Arnav said...

"Ok Arjun lets wrap it up..." Khushi said to him... Arjun and Khushi went back to their interrogation rooms...

Taani settled down in a chair... she drove her hands through her hair...

"You like him?" Arnav asked... sitting next to her... Taani looked at him...

"I think so..."Taani said slowly...Arnav shook his head...

"I'm just glad you're back!!" Arnav said smiling and hugging his sister...

"I'm glad I'm back as well.." She said hugging him back...

Just then the interrogation doors opened...

Rey walked out, and so did Sammy...Taani got up and ran to Rey she hugged him...

"You're going to be ok... I promise..." She whispered to him...the others watched...

"I'm sorry..." He said looking her straight into her eyes...

"It's ok... I met you... I don't regret it..." She said smiling...

"Taani?" Khushi said...Taani shook her head...

Khushi placed the cuffs around Rey's hand, Arjun did the same to Sammy and two other officers escorted Rey and Sammy out of the building...

Taani watched him go... Rey turned around once more... he smiled before he was taken away...

"Well looks like the case is over! Let's get a drink!" Arjun said cheerfully...

The rest agreed!!...

Taani turned to the others...

"Thanks guys!" She said smiling...

"Hey why are you saying thanks! We would have done this for anyone!" Arjun said with a smile...

"Yeh and you're one of our own!!" Zoya said cheerfully...

"Aww thanks!" Taani smiled...

"Ok let's go... I really need a drink!" Khushi said...

"What no paperwork?" Arjun smirked...

"I'll do it tomorrow... We have Taani back!!" Khushi said smiling at Taani who smiled back

Arnav put one hand around Khushi...and the other around Taani..

"Let's celebrate..."Arnav said... The others cheered...

The five officers left the office...To what looked like a peaceful night ahead...

Unfortunately Sammy and(happily) Rishi will not be returning in the next part but everyone else will be...
