What exactly is thathai...wonder if there is an equivalent sweet prepared in Karnataka ...
SoSy motivates me to cook too...with the mention of all mouth watering dishes...family is happy with this outcome 😆
SR/Pratima?
Soak two table spoons of chana dal for an hour
A cup of rice flour, some powdered hing, some curry leaves, some lal mirch powder, salt.
Knead it all together with the chana dal, I add a DOLLOP of butter (my dollops are big😆) a pinch of baking soda
Make poori dough size balls, spread it out on a ziploc bag (yaha mujhe kele ka patha nahi milta😆)
Into small discs (the size of a Horlicks bottle moodi/lid) poke with a fork so it doesnt fluff up
Deep fry and cool
It will be the best namkeen u ever ate
The above is my recipe, I bet there are variations to it
I make it for Deepavali, The week of it... I make something every evening after work
...after returning from work at 7 PM. I make 50 or 75 in less than an hour
VERY EASY
