Chapter- 1
Sitting in the dingy dining room of a not so hygienic apartment of Vicky, five of them blamed their stars for their downfall of career.
'We may never achieve the success we have dreamed now.' Sharon sighed prominently. The short but pretty lady used to be confidence of the team. She had impression of never breaking down. But time changed people. 'I may have to chose other thing to make a career'. Said Sharon pushing her hair behind her ear.
'I'm in need of money.' Stated Vicky. 'I'm planning to join an event management company. I need a job which gives a decent amount to afford a dignified life in Mumbai.'
'I'm ashamed to talk to my dad.. let alone beg for money.' Swayam added.
Rey was in state of despair. He swore if he had to hear any more of them he will bang his head against the wall.
'Guys! I need to go now.' Rey said standing up, straightening her wrinkled shirt. 'I'll see ya guys tomorrow.' Rey ran out of the apartment with no intention of meeting his friends any time soon. He always wondered if his friends secretly blame him for their fall.
The journey back to home via subway was unsurprisingly uneventful. From giggling girls to confused old woman, all were busy in minding their own business. As seats next to him became vacant, two teenage girls occupied them. They were bending over a tab engrossed in something. As one of them moved from her position, Rey saw a flicker of what they were seeing on tab. The girls were watching a show that claims they give all the news of celebrities before others. Now a few pictures of Taani were slide showing on the screen. Rey adjusted his sitting situation in a way so he can see the TAB screen clearly.
The latest gossip was about Taani breaking up with her boyfriend who was lead singer of a famous band. The irony is, it was Rey who used to think five years ago world will buzz with gossip about him, he will enjoy glamour not as son of business tycoon Singhania but as Reyansh. Rey dreamt of his D3 will be on the top of the world surrounded by press and paparazzi, he never thought Taani is the glamour girl material. He was convinced Taani would be a hinder in his way to fame. Taani will put a black spot on his glamour-filled life.
Rey entered the Singhania mansion trying not to steer much attention among anybody. His dad was sitting in the dining room, watching TV. His dad is co-owner of 'Shine Gorgeous' an internationally popular hair care brand. Mr. Singhania was going though the new commercials of the product.
'Rey!' His father greeted him and motioned him to sit next to him, which Rey disobeyed. He stood a few foot away from his father.
'Ever since we've signed her as our brand ambassador, our sales has reached sky high.' He said turning his attention to Rey. 'So, you decided to take your future seriously?'
His father never supported his passion for dance; he was convinced his son would never achieve success in this line. A few years back Rey used to indulge in the idea he will prove his father wrong, But Rey failed. Rey kept listening to his father as continue to speak not paying much attention. His attention was focus on the TV screen. His father has paused it. A picture of Tanni was dominating the home theater screen now. She was wearing a a sea green body hugging dress which made her curves more prominent. She had thrown back her head in laughter, the strong column of her throat rose vertically out of long hair. 'Taani is going to be the judge of 'India's Next Supermodel', I'm co producing the show. ' He paused for a moment to take a look at Rey. 'Are you even listening?'
'oh! Yes I am' Rey said being startled.' His eyes rested on his dad for a moment then went back to the screen. This Taani is alluring. She looked no less then Aphrodite in beauty. She is incongruent to the Taani he used to know before five years.
'Rey.' His father called him again. 'As long asI know you have sense in event managing.'
In answer, Rey nodded positively.
'For once in your life, do something.' Mr. Singhania said in a stern voice. 'Work in the back stage of the show.'
Rey prepared to say no but the conversation he had with his friend earlier crossed his mind. They are all in need of money. Being Singhania's son he will never be in the position of starving himself to death, but it's his dad's money not his. He did not earn a penny by himself.
'Fine.' Rey agreed. 'I'll work, but I want all of my friends to have a job there.'
His father sighed then said, 'Not a problem.. I can do something.' He took a pause to light a cigar. 'Go to our event management company in the evening with the merry gang of yours. Chief Manager will describe what you have to do.'
Not saying a word Rey went to his room and close the door silently.

Taani rested herself in a comfortable position crossing her legs, as her long hair flow lightly in the air. Gracefully she dropped the end of her cigarette in a can of Coke. Once she was done with her cigarette, she went back to her previous position. She laid on her back, still as a statue as a two makeup artists applied makeup on her bare. It was last day of her shoot in here. After this one, she was planning to take a long vacation in somewhere sunny, but she had to go to India as she signed a contract of judging 'India's Next Super Model'. Somehow she concluded judging will be easier than modelling.
'Done with the legs.' One of the makeup artists announced. 'Are you ready for the face and hairdo?'
As she nodded, they started to work on her face instantly. It took little more than an hour to complete with her makeup. As one of her assistants knocked on her door to signal her shot is ready she made way to the set.
'Taani..' The designer greeted her by kissing on her cheek.
'Pierce!" Taani smiled back. Pierce with his 5'5 frame stands 2 inches shorter than Taani. As Taani was wearing a 6inched high heels, he even looked shorter. Pierce though short but had strong and masculine built.
Taani is extremely fond of this guy. Five years back when she travelled to France hell bent to move on; she did many wild things. But somehow her past managed to catch her. It was a sunny morning she went to Purple Valley with her friends for a holiday Pierce was there holidaying with his then boyfriend. He discovered Taani has hidden talent of being a super model. As she signed Taani, she never had to think about her career, after signing a contract with Victoria's Secret her career moved miles at second. With the pressure of her career moving on became less of her worries. She successfully moved on from her past and currently she was enjoying being at the top of the world.
'Taani, I've found true love.' Pierce said.
'you had find true love the last time you fell in love..' Taani rolled her eyes at him. 'and before that you found your true love too.'
'I got ditched a few times.' Pierce smiled. 'But this time I'm sure it's true love. And he is our photographer too. '
Taani smiled knowing Pierce from last five years she knew this relationship won't last long.
'Who is the lucky man?'
'He is here.' Pierce's eyes glittered with mirth. 'I wanted it so much.. my favourite girl meeting the man of my life.'
'Robin! Over here..' Pierce waved at someone. The guy had tall lanky physic. At least a foot taller than Pierce. He has long mahogany coloured hair with golden highlighted. As he came over giving Pierce a kiss on lips smiled at Taani. As they greeted each other Pierce shouted.. 'enogh of chit chating, Taani dear get back to work now.'
The set had a simple black back drop illuminate with a lots of high powered light.
There were other three female models dressed in white. Taani's golden dress were completely contrast to the background colour and the dresses of other models. Needless to say she was the focus of this whole photoshoot.
After the last shot Robin shouted cheerily. 'Wonderful Taani.' Robin clapped. 'Pierce said a lot about how good you are. But I thought he was bragging about his favourite girl.'
'I don't need to brag about her, Robin.' Pierce elbowed him.'She is perfect that's why she is my favourite.'
'Hey Taani would you like to grab a few shots with us?' Pierce asked holding hand of his new boyfriend tightly.
'I would love to.' Taani replied. 'But I don't have much time today. I've to catch a flight to India within a few hours.'
'Even we're going back to NYC today.' Robin added. 'We can drop you to airport. Please join us. '
Without further questioning Taani agreed to join them. In next few hours it was clear for now two of these handsome men were deeply in love with each other. Pierce even offered to murder her ex flame and both agreed Taani should find a nice guy. Well for Taani she enjoyed spending time with them and she has no intention to find true love now. She is extremely happy with her life.
After a few hours later sitting in the 1st class of the flight Taani played a quick flashback of her life in mind. She was going to face the past. If she were the Taani she was five years ago she would find numerous excuses to avoid the past. But now the past does not bother her at all. Rather she felt proud of herself for being brave enough to overcome and face the past. She closed her eyes as the flight took off.
