Self Flagellation

She asked to be put on Bally's calendar first thing Monday morning
She only get 30 minutes by the end of the day, June 1st
She looked at the appointment atleast five times from Noon to 6 PM
She pushed out Gurgaon workshop visit and twiddled her thumbs, unable to concentrate... physically not feeling great already

He walked over to her cube 15 minutes before the appointment

"Willing to wait for this traumatized soul? Kiddo?" Bally asked chukling

"U took it because u love it, mujhese yeh natak nahi huh" II warned

"Oh! my God, gussa? kyon?" he pulled a chair and sat by her

"Chal lets go get iced tea or something PErk band ho jaayega nahi to" he urged

She got up and walked with him to Perk

"Kya chal rahahai, tu chha gayi suna maine Dilshad Garden and GHZB shorooms" he gave her a atta girl

She nodded

"How is Uttam Nagar? I heard waha issues hain?" Bally asked shrewdly

"U dont manage me any more but tumhe sab maloom hai" she said cynically

He ordered iced tea and brownies and a salty puff pastry

He paid for it and carried it to their favorite window spot, looking down at the intersection

"Suman kaisi hain" II asked

"Woh theek hain aapko yaad kar rahi hain, aur yeh pooch rahi hain ki chhotu chhoti ki tayyari chalu hai kya?"

"In three months after the wedding?" II asked

"Kyon? koi Law hai kya?" Bally asked sincerely

She smacked him

"Ouch!!" he yelped..

"Mere ghar par they wont let me get off the bed from day one until after the kid goes to college, I hope u have a replacement in mind" II said smugly

"Duniya bhejti hai day care mein, bhejo aur aao kaam par 6 mahiney mein" Bally ordered

"My FIL will chain me to my bed, not to mention the Rakshasan" II said mumbling the dude's name

"Usko bhej dete hain Paris so u can work" Bally chuckled

"Hes going Bally" II said

"Kitne din ke liye?" he asked

"U know he sold right?" II asked

Bally was somber, he nodded,

"He sold, and quit his job and turned in a month long notice, now he wants to go back" Ii said

"Tujhe maine KITNI baar kaha, stop tonguing each other and TALK, tu suni hi nahi" Bally mocked
She blushed first and was infuriated soon after

"Like that could have changed anything" mumbling

"Pata to chalta tujhe, but u didnt ask a WORD" Bally said angrily

"I was afraid if I didnt marry him he will be gone and I couldnt bear that" II whispered, a fat tear fell on the rim of her mug.

"And u married him and he is going anyway" Bally finished for her
She nodded

"The father and son dont talk to each other any more?" Bally asked

"No they do, Dad talks NORMALLY now, cheerfully, like nothing ever happened." II refuted

"He is a vagabond then?" Bally asked

"I dont know" II said refusing to admit

"Tera kya plan hai?" Bally asked
"I dont know" she said

"Appa to tera keema bana denge" he said startled

"They fought on Saturday for the first time" II explained

"KAUN? Appa aur tera rakshasan?" Bally asked

She nodded mutely

"Shittt" he hissed

"He pretty much asked him "are u going to leave her for good" II said that with great difficulty

"Damnn!!"

"He was extremely angry.. not sure if it was becaused Appa spoke the truth or because he was murderous Appa would even suggest that"

"Tujhe kya laga?"

"I dont know... anything anymore I married him as if he was the only man left on earth. My brain no longer functions sanely Bally" she admitted

"Galat kiya yaar bandey ne" Bally said disappointed

"By selling?" II asked eagerly

"selling, quitting, winding up, all within a week?" Ballya asked

"I married him with my eyes wide open. I cant accuse Appa or Amma or Akka for being in this situation, I almost killed myself when I thought he was two timing me" II said embarrassed

"He is very introverted, he does things according to his plan" Bally explained

"He said his company did not post a great Q3 or Q2" II said

"Haan phir to woh apni jagah sahi hai... he wants to focus on things that he thinks satisfies him" Bally nodded

"How did I ever think he will live and work in Malcha Marg the rest of his life?" II asked baffled

"Isliye kehte hain pyaar andha hota hai beta" Bally pointed out

She giggled between sniffles

"Ladka hero dikhta hai, hamari chhokri pyaar ki lehron mein behti chali gayi, samandar ne seedhe France tak le jaakar patak di usko" Bally said

"He would never have stayed here for good" II said

"Haan abhi to aap kuch bhi keh sakte ho, in order to justify your hare brained decision making skills" Bally scolded

"How come everything always works out for other people?" Ii accused

"TUJHE aise lag raha hai beta" he clarified

"nahi, people meet someone they fall in love, get married buy a house, have babies, everything works out.
I marry a man that recently broke off from a relationship with a woman 5 years older, has his own company, back packs half the year.
I decided to play ghar ghar with him zabardasti" II cursed herself

"Tch" Bally nodded

"Not the same culture, eating habits, the family is so different, and then there is the scandal" II was on a self flagellation mission

"I would avoid even looking at Appa u know I would be afraid dekhoongi to lecture denge daatenge, I better get ready and leave, shaam ko I wud work late and go home some days after he goes to bed
I studiously avoided any opp for advice. Jo advice milta bhi tha I WOULD ABS HATE IT. I would be like "what does he know what the dude is like"
"He is so old fashioned" "Punjabis are sexy, this whole falling in love thing is so heady, so intoxicating" "Amma ki baat kabhi kabhi sun leti thi, I would hate Appa's sermonizing. Appa suspected this would happen

He thinks dude's using his Dad to get rid of me" II cried

"Rona band kar pehle" Bally scolded

"U think I deserve this for not listening to Appa?" II asked

"Pagal!!" Bally shook his head

"they were trying to protect me, u know, tu KYA JAANTI HAI USKE BAARE MEIN. This family is infamous for the scandal. The older genetleman is accused of a sex scandal
Uve never met their son EVER before, he hasnt even lived in India seriously the last 10 years, he agrees to marry you and u are a gushing gullible teenager" II was brutal

"Meri baat sun" Bally tried to interrupt

"He is great at what he does, they are extremely caring and loving, he is very possessive of me, and now he wants to go to Paris, no matter what" II said

"Is baat mein tumhe koi logic nazar aa raha hai?" she asked "Its like saying, the sky is blue, the sun's out, weve had good rains, we will have a good crop year, but we are selling the farm"

I read it somewhere.. it reminds me of all those dads who cant express their love just like amitabh bachchan of K3G.

Dsgirl THANK YOU FOR thinking about SW Symphony as u ate at Malcha Marg. Its one of the most visually beautiful areas of Delhi, ginormous trees, clean side walks, lots of shade, manicured lawns.
I have never eaten at Malcha Marg market, Ive eaten in Basant Lok and Chanakyapuri markets but never at MM.
The entire area of Moti Bagh, RK Puram, Chanakyapuri and Vasant Vihar is quite impressive. Delhi does a good job of maintaining the appeal.
