So typical of an elite dysfunctional family. Not meaning to generalize here, but I like how you've depicted that despite talking to each other, the four Raizadas don't really 'talk' to each other. There's an unspoken tentativeness, lack of communication, an invisible wall of formality.
That wall probably doesn't exist when it comes to Anjali-Arjoon and Arnav-Khushi. That's why Arnav found himself going to Chandni Chowk after he learnt the truth from Akash. It shows that class divides are less responsible in creating those walls. Its all in the way people perceive or behave with each other. The financially privileged ones here are so far away from their real selves. Its taking them the longest to figure themselves out.
Payal has lived a superficial existence for the better part of her life, and now losing her father, having that void in her relationship with Arnav and now the potential relationship with Akash should force her to confront her real self.
And, you're being rather mysterious about Poonam Raizada, Shyam , Aman and now Anjali... What's going on?
The change of heart isn't a plausible justification for Poonam's changed ways. I think its the age that's doing the talking now. She probably realises or has realised her past errors of judgement. So, she has only mellowed down. But, that doesn't mean that her basic nature would change, right? I wonder what's in store when she would finally encounter Khushi in person. It's not going to be pleasant for sure. But, hoping it to be cordial enough.
Arnav offered Shyam to work for him. So Mihir Gupta back in the company? I'm just assuming that there's a connection between Shyam and Mihir. Otherwise, same surnames would be too much of a filmy coincidence.
Anjali has a mind of her own. That's the best thing about her. That's probably what Arjoon loves about her too.
Still dicey about Aman though. Can't figure out what's going on in his head. Possibly, nothing is going on in his head. As a reader, I'm just so accustomed to read between the lines, trying to figure out motives where they won't even exist.😆
After I finished reading the update, I wondered why you titled it 'Tell Tale Heart'. It started with a closure to a convenient relationship. It went to Akash revealing something that ideally should have been revealed by Payal herself. Then, it ventured into Arnav feeling incapable of loving someone deeply. It finally ended with an acceptance that he probably still has the potential to feel and love deeply. Now that's a telltale of a heart in itself. 😊
PS : Chetan Bhagat needs to learn a thing or two about writing and characterization from you.
