"I hate long distance relationships." He started, "and I don't think I can carry this one any further." We both sat in silence, and it took me a few minutes for all this to sink in.
"But I really like you Kripa." He looked at me, and took my hand. "So that's why im giving you a choice. Come back with me."
"Or?" I asked.
"Stay here."
"If I stay here, then we're over?" I questioned shakily.
"Yes."
That's all he said.
"No."
That's all I said.
"Fine." He got up and left. Where he went, I didn't know. My vision was blurred. I felt a sharp pang in my chest, and I felt hot tears down my cheeks.
"Kripa?"
It was Angad.
I didn't move. He came and sat next to me on the sand.
"He gave me a choice." I said, quietly.
"Which was?"
"Stay with here. Or go back with him."
"And u said that you wanted to stay here." He said as a statement, not as a question.
"Yea"
We sat in silence.
"Why?" he asked, after a few long minutes.
"Why what?" I asked, unable to concentrate because of the pain.
"Why did you say no to him? Why did u want to stay here?" I could feel him looking at me. I continued to stare at the waves.
"Because….because for once I wanted to do what I wanted, not what someone else wanted. Growing up, I listened to my mom and dad, and was always told what to do by Mishti. And it was the same with Prithvi. He was always in-charge. I don't think I could deal with that anymore."
Out of my peripheral vision I saw him nod.
"Well, if this helps, Im not the type of person who tells people what to do." I finally looked at him, and saw that while his eyes were troubled, his handsome face was in the crooked grin I loved. He stood up, and held out his hand. "Come on."
I gave him my hand and we walked back to the house.

The next week went by slowly. Unlike before, I wasn't enjoying myself and often felt myself pondering whether I should've left with Prithvi.
But the weird thing was, nothing in my life had changed except for him. I still had the same schedule, and I still did everything I used to. Well, almost everything. There were no more late night phone calls, and no more of those emails from him. There was like an empty gap where he had once been.
All around me, the hustle-bustle, laughter, and enjoyment continued. I tried to participate but found myself to be un-enthusiastic. I had become, plain and simple, a wet blanket. I could see that Alliyah and Angad tried to get me out of my slump, but to no avail.
Right now, I was sitting alone in my room, watching a movie on Alliyah's tv. It was after 11, and the park was closed. Alliyah was out somewhere, probably doing something fun. Angad hadn't called all day, which just made me even sadder.
All of a sudden, I heard a knock on my door. Sighing I got up and opened the door. It was Zo, my floor manager.
"Hello mate" she said in her British accent.
"Hey."
"So I heard we got a girl who just broke up with her boyfriend"
I nodded.
"And that she's been a wet blanket lately."
No reaction from me.
"Well no longer! Come on mates!" she exclaimed.
Within seconds, I was surrounded by all my floor mates in swimsuits, including my roommate, Alliyah.
"We're throwing you a pool party! Get your swimsuit!"
"B…butt.." I stuttered.
Alliyah ignored me, went to my closet, rummaged through it for a few seconds, and then took out my bikini. She tossed it to me, and pushed me into the bathroom. I emerged a few minutes later, and saw all the girls excitedly chatting. Smiling, I went up to them.

We headed to the hotel pool (the dorm rooms were located in a hotel) and then snuck over the high fence that was there for privacy. From outside of the fence, the place looked deserted, but once we went inside- oh boyyyy; there were alot of people there.
"Whoa." Zo exclaimed. Josh came over and smiled apologetically.
"Sorry. I guess the word spread; there's a lot of more people here than we planned. But the good news is that some of them raided the snack carts, and now we have tons of food."
"No problem mate. The more the merrier." She said.
I tuned them out, looking around. It was a kidney-shaped pool, with a hot tub. A few of the lights had been turned on, and they cast a warm and inviting glow. People milled around in their swimsuit, and food was set up on one side of the place.
"Someone's been a wet blanket lately." I turned around and saw Angad smiling in his swim trunks. He looked amazing as always. I shrugged, and he shook his head.
"That's it." He bent down and picked me up in his arms. I glared at him as he started walking towards the pool.
"You wouldn't" I said, narrowing my eyes,
He laughed, "Uhm, yea I would." With that he jumped in the pool, and we both went under. I came up, sputtering and laughing. He was right there, laughing as well. I brushed the hair out of my eyes.
"You guys are such kids." Alliyah said, walking to the side of the pool and standing in front of us.
"So are you Ali." Angad said, while tickling my bare tummy with his hands; he had slid over closer to me.
"Psh." She said, and flipped her hair.
I looked at Angad. "Are you thinking what im thinking?"
He nodded, and we lunged forward, pulling Alliyah into the pool.
"YOU BUTTS!!" she screamed when she came back up. Angad and I laughed at her bewildered expression.

The party was going awesome and I was sitting with Alliyah and Josh in the hot tub. Angad was around somewhere, doing something or the other.
"You happy Kripa?" Alliyah asked quietly.
"Yea. Thank you. Really." I replied.
She leaned in closer.
"Can I tell you something?"
"Sure."
"But you have to, like, promise not to tell anyone I told you this; especially Angad."
"Okkk" I replied, slowly, confused.
"I didn't plan this thing; Angad did. He couldn't see you like this."
"Oh." I said in a small voice. I felt my heart swell up in my chest. Alliyah smiled at me, in a comforting manner, and got up. Josh followed her, and I was left alone.
I kept thinking about what she said. Could Angad really love me? Everything seemed like it; I started to reflect on all the time I spent with him. I was sure he was in love me- but the question was, was I ready to move on?
That's the part. Sorry for not continuing. I haven't been on the computer for more than 10 minutes everyday (Just started new clubs and a dance recital coming up + friends, my bf & family) - and I check and reply to all my comments on myspace, so I hardly have any time left. But this was a comparatively long part I guess. Comments! 10 please;; && I promise to reply to each and every one of them- unlike before. Seriously. I won't sleep, but I will reply! 😆Lol. Yeaa. So that's all I think! 😊
