If anyone is around, I am free!

Just comment with a question, and... maybe I'll answer. If I can. I've never done this before! But I'm curious to see what you guys are curious about :)

How do you solve the conundrum without compromise?

You don't. 😆

But learning to compromise takes time. There will be a (hopefully) satisfying conclusion to "the conundrum".

Does Arnav really, truly love Khushi? I know he said he loves her, and he's shown that in numerous ways and you'd convinced me with his confession that he loves her, but...does he respect her? Because if he did, he wouldn't said what he said in this chapter. But then, if he doesn't respect her, does what he feel for her actually count as love? Can you a love a person and not respect them? Does that still count as love?

Sorry, bohot zyada philosophical ho gaya na. 😆

Isn't compromise itself unfair given that the conundrum is not minor?

Answer to Q1: Read bold. 😆

Answer to Q2 and onwards: I don't necessarily believe he doesn't respect her, but merely has an ego large enough to create another person and thinks that instead of DMji knows best, Arnavji knows best.

Ok, here goes.

1. Cannot get the idea of ASR as a James Bond/Pink Panther crossover character out of my head! 😉

2. I'm loving this story, and the struggle of the two, but I am having a difficult time with the idea that Khushi is so principled in terms of her philosophy, and yet has fallen deeply in love with someone who (on the surface at least) does not share her values. Does that make sense? And do you have a plan for resolving that?

By compromise, I think I more indicate a willingness to listen. Does that make sense?

On the forum: meera30, Expel, Di, and Mirabell.
Off the forum: NYT columnists (huge news junkie), Abraham Verghese, JK Rowling (Ravenclaw forever), and a lot of nonfiction. Not a classics person.

1. AHH RIGHT?! Okay, that idea actually excites me so much. Plus, no ugly suits- sexy, well tailored ones. *sigh*

2. I think... that at the core, the things they value- family, loyalty, etc- are the same. And that's what makes it possible for them to fall in love, IMO. I think these took precedence- at least initially.

I hope you'll feel as if I've resolved it at the end- but it'll take a while for them to get over this little hump. They're both stubborn as- er, donkeys. 😆
