Oh God ... this all sounds so real ... it could be any one ... you ... me ... 😲

What was hurtful was the family making a joke of her situation ... I can't call it a problem ...

And her going out to excersise at an un-Godly hour sounds so familiar ...

Am I glad that she ended things with Anil !

A man who sees a woman as just an eye-candy is not worth a thought ...

But sadly our society is such where a girl has to be pretty fair and slim to be considered

eligible for marriage ...

A friend on mine (a Marwari ) whose girls are supposed to be married at a young age

18-19-20 ... is dsperately looking for a match for her daughter who is quite heavy inspite

of having joined a gym and tried various dieticians unsuccessfully and has already

become 25 or so but is just not able to find one ... it is giving her sleepless nights ...

Oh dear. I do believe I am beyond hooked. The topics, be it weight, marriage society, so many things, hit home to such a degree that even if I wanted, to I cAnnot stop from following and reading. I've always admired your writing skills. I am more intrigued to see how you address these never dying issues. I liked the strength of Khushis character but also the fact that she is so aware of her low. That she has hit her limit and any more taunt r good humor is her past tipping point. Anil was the quintessential good guy but not. More than his honesty I give credit to the non stereotypical response of Khushi. I can't wait to read more...

well often its our dear ones that tend to hit the barb spot on...Kushi is a strong girl if they don't see her for what she has achieved than lamenting at her weight issues...its their loss...i hope she stays strong...

That was a refreshing twist on a topic that need to be brought to the fore. It was very nicely setup and I have to admit that unlike Anil, my imaginary visuals will have to be adjusted based on someones waist line 😊.

For all my adjustments, I am ready to see our Kushi grab the world by the lapels and kick ass. I love her already for being an independent, and strong (or getting there) woman. I am already calling her my "Tea bag" - because looks like how strong she gets, is driven by how hot the water is 😊.

I really liked the way you conveyed the message that whats makes us feel may not be the usual stereotypes. The strings attached family, the practical strangers (Anil), and the constant reminders from your brains memory, and the morning walks where you are really you and nothing else matters. I am looking forward to the journey that you will take us on, where it is not about we wanting to be something but how we become something.

khushi's family, the very people who should be behind her every step of the way are the very ones who hurt her. Isn't this the story of so many young girls trying their best to lose weight to gain a bit of acceptance in this society having its own criterion for what is the right weight and size of a girl.

Anil is not a bad person but wants an arm candy for a wife to go further in his career.

One can't blame the guy.

This is what most men want.

Loving this story.
