Let's give it a chance
Part : 6
Suddenly everything turned silent ,one could hear Randhir gulp down his tears in awe, leaving Sanyukta in a situation of dismay of her sudden outburst on Randhir, making the situation more eerie.
"Umm I am sorry "she chipped biting her lower lip understanding what stupidity she did movements ago.
"Its OK "he chipped straight and moved his way towards their room ,she held his hand.
"I didn't mean to be harsh ,I just had a bad day "she said in reverie.
There was a sudden change in his expression listening to her reply.
"What happed" he asked worried ,not even a flinch of anger on his face.
She still held his hand in a never leaving grip, she didn't want to let go of him,he held her shoulder and made her sit on the couch.
"Is everything okay "he asked again.
"Nothing its just that ,I got a warning from Lady Angela that she might fire ..."her voice trailed off.. His heart broke too , Seeing her broken state...
." She spoke fear dripping down her tone.
"But why ,they can't fire you just like that ,they need a genuine reason " he seemed angry again all of a sudden.
"Diana spiked the buffet at The Distrikt,
It was all just a mess ,the guests puked right in the hall, and Lady Angela was made to believe I was under fault for the scenario, I can't afford to lose this job Randhir"
"Hey you haven't lost your job ,you still have it and I am sure she won't ever fire you ,after all you are amazing at this" he bit his tongue while she glared at him with confusion.
"I mean I am sure you would be"he added covering up.
She gave a faint smiled and rolled over the couch holding her knees in between her arm's like an embryo.
"Aren't you hungry ,don't worry I haven't spiked this food " he gave a naughty smile ,she smiled in return and said "Okay "
The room again got filled with the aroma of Adas rishta ,White bean chicken stew & Lebanese rolls.
The plater lay in the middle of the table again ,the molten cheese teasing her eyes .Her mouth watered seeing the delicacy ,he knew she is a foodie but never knew food could cheer her up even in the worst of situation.
He smiled seeing her stuffing her mouth with large morsels of food.
Cheese dripping down near the right corner of lip. He picked up a tissue and cleaned the liquid to which she simply shrugged her shoulders .
"What "
"Nothing "
"Congrats "she chipped all of a sudden
"Thanks ,and don't worry I will vacant your place with in a few months."he replied with a broken heart.
"You can stay here is you want"her mouth still full of her favorites.
"Really "his eyes gleamed with a pinch of happiness .
"Hmm, don't you want to eat "
"Yes " he chipped in excitement.
"Where are you working by the way "
She asked bursting his bubble, he remembered Parth saying.
"Dare you tell her you work with me,I am in no mood to die so soon, she would kill me if she would ever come to know about me helping you"
"Randhir you are so dead" he mentally cursed himself for not giving heed to Parth's words earlier .
"I am working in an Indian embassy " he lied to save himself from her sudden interrogation.
"That's good congrats Randhir" she smiled in his direction.
They didn't elongate their conversion and preferred to remain silent while they finished their dinner.
He poured some red wine in the glasses ,the liquid dribbled down their throat loosening their senses ,while a soothing yet romantic music brought them closer on the floor, waltz wasn't picture perfect ,but pictures of there togetherness could be taken.
She stumbled ,he held ,he stumbled she held they became each others support ,it wasn't less from one or the other ,just a simple vice-versa ,they moved together on the tunes ,his hands enclosed on her waist while her rested on his neck.
"Drinking makes one regret" chipped Randhir nudging her even closer.
"It never did as such to me Mr.Shekhawat "
Sarcasm dripping down her tone while she remembered ,how she used to drown herself in alcohol every night to kill her loneliness, her eyes glittered ,he pulled her close and hugged her tight.
"I am sorry,I do regret what I did"
"Its OK" she spoke and distancing her frame moved towards her bed .
It wasn't long when slumber took her in ,today they didn't seem to fight for the bed, rather then pushing him away she somehow found solace in his embrace, where as sleep seemed far away from his eyes and this is when he noticed her tear stained face, tears had washed away the concealer she had used to hide the dark rims under her eyes, which were puffy now because of her frequent crying, he slowly kissed her eyes, which made her stir in sleep.
"Mam I didn't do anything wrong trust me,someone else might have spiked the drink"she woke up with a jolt still sleep talking, those dried tears long gone wet.She hugged him close and soon drifted off to deep slumber.
It was Saturday Morning ,the warm rays from the window jolted up Randhir ,he tried getting up only to see the same scenario as sanyukta's. Her frame entangled with his,her breath did havoc to his senses .It was his second time ,in his proper senses he was close to her ,earlier it was before their marriage.
He had dived into her room through her window ,disappointed he had turned his back and was about to walk his way back .
"Who are you " she had shouted and he had rushed back to her shutting her mouth from screaming hard and she had collapsed in his arms, exactly this close.
"Wake up Sanyukta"he had patted her cheek lightly, finding no response he had tried a bit harder and she had opened her eyes.
"What the hell Randhir ,what are you doing here " she spoke still in shock.
"Are you fine"
"Yes I am but ,what are you doing here"
"But why did you collapse" he had again choose to ignore her query .
"Uff will on the earth you tell me what are you doing here"
"Easy easy I just was just missing you and what happened to you why did you collapsed"
He had replied almost blushing.
"This sudden appearance of yours got me into shock" she had distanced herself seeing the closeness they had shared all this while.
"I'm sorry " puppy face look on his face.
"Aww its okay " she had smiled
That night they had talked about every random thing ,lying close to each other on her bed ,under the warmth of blanket, with their clothes on not mushy mushy but still something sizzling in itself ,both didn't let go of each other ,soon morning had crept in breaking their cozy movement.
"I think you should leave before someone spots you here"
"Yes you are right, its morning already"
His sentence came out with a bang on the door and her mother entered in, she always did this ,never bothered to wait for her daughter to respond ,catching them off guard ,Sanyukta hid herself under the blanket embarrassed while Randhir's eyes opened wide in shock.
"What is going on" anju tried to hide her smile and continued to confront them. They couldn't form words out of their mouth to justify their scenario.
"Mo...mm..."
Anju couldn't control it any more she had burst out laughing .
"You could have told me ,I would have left open the main door, that would have been way too easier than climbing up the pipe "
"I ..act..actually"
"Chill I won't through you up, freshen up and I will prepare you both some healthy breakfast "
She left them completely bewildered.
"What just happened "
Asked Randhir to which she had just shrugged her shoulders.
"Randhir Randhir ,leave me you fool" she jerked him out of his dreamland.
"Uhh huhh.. What you held me close"
"No ,I didn't do that"
"Do what " his breath on her face,
She pushed him hard and left .
"Why are you in a hurry Mrs.Shekhawat ,its off today"
He tried controlling his laughter but ended up rolling on the bed ,while she stared at him with 'I will you eyes'.
"Don't you think you are already breaking the rules I set ,for you to stay"
She played her trump card leaving him in feeling of dismay.Having no reply to her answers he simply tossed over the bed and slept again.
Her mood was better when the memories of yesterday night filled her mind rather than those from the day.She loved her work from the core of her heart she would never ever do something which could be of any harm to any human . she was a pure soul. Even being a Chandigarh girl ,she didn't forget her moral values ,yes she has a cool set of parents which is quite rare in India ,but there is something from with it which doesn't let one break the vows, it was the same with her,She was beauty with the brain. She was an entrepreneur by profession but fortunately or unfortunately she had left all her certificates back in India to which she had use her cooking skills to survive in this posh society .she never tried to get her documents back as this would have been strange for them ,her getting a job directly after her wedding but now when his business was gone,it was easy for her to call back for her documents, but that also meant telling her parents about what happened ,he had a job but still he had to start his business from the scratch and it would take time, this was a complete risk .would she follow her heart or her brain...
