Chapter 2: The twisted tale of friendship

Swayam: "Kriya yeh tum kya bol rahi ho?"

Kriya wipes tears of her face and turns towards Swayam.

Kriya: "Swayam you know na my mom hates dance, she got to know all about me dancing behind her back. Woh mujhe elmins main bhi jane nahi de rahi thi, who vishaka or Neha ko ghar par dekhar mujhe jane diya but she also made me promise that it will be my last dance and..."

Tears started rolling down her cheeks. She just couldn't continue but she had to, coz her bff deserved to know everything, Rey's image crossed her mind...

Swayam:" and...?"

"and kuch nahi...bus that I'll never think about dance again" she just brushed Rey's thought out of her mind.

Swayam was shocked...he didn't know how to react, ever since he had known Kriya, Kriya meant dance, she symbolized passion but here she was giving up on everything she meant...he never knew a Kriya without dance but now, how???

Swayam: "but Kriya..."

He was cut by Kriya, "and here ends my journey as a dancer"

With this Kriya started sobbing, her own words were pricking her hard, she couldn't believe it was her speaking those words, accepting her destiny. Swayam knew how difficult it would be for her, this meant letting go everything that meant life to her ever since she entered St. Louis. He walked up to her and pulls her into a hug trying to calm her down, stroking her head he says,

"Don't worry Kriya...sab teek hojayega...we'll find a way"

Rey was passing buy...he saw them, he couldn't believe his eyes his blood started boiling. His BFF and love in each other's arms...just then images of New year's eve flashed thru his mind. He thought "was it always like this, was he the only one who couldn't see it, was Swayam lying about Sharon, was Swayam always aware of Kriya's intention" these thoughts were turning into a battle b/w his heart and mind.

His heart said everything that happened before elims can't be a lie but his brain was crushing his hopes brutally, it said "Reyaansh wake up, face the reality" This started getting harder. He decided to leave the spot before he does something nasty but he was sure he can't live in this confusion forever...he needs to confront Swayam.

Few minutes later Kriya pulled back and continued,

"Swayam mujhe sab ko batana hoga ki I'm quitting the team and I have to do it soon coz you guys need to find a sixth dancer"

Swayam couldn't believe what he just heard, and Kriya addressing the team as u guys...it was irritating to say the least, he said

"Are you out of ur minds, sixth dancer...Kriya humne dance tumhare wajhse shuru kiya and tumhare bina dance kya uske bare mein sochna bhi impossible hai...and dare you think we are gonna do this without you, we'll find a way but dance without you is just not gonna happen..you know..."

Kriya cuts him, "Teek hai Swayum tum log bhi dance chod do...and iske saat hare k cheez jiske liye main aaj tak ladti thi who sab katam hojayega...maine yeh sab jintna mere sapne ke liye kiya utna mere friends ke liye bhi kiya, and I always wanted all of us to make it big...par ab sab chodenge...maine apne friends ko winners banana chahti thi par who toh losers bangaye, Sab meri galti hai...only if I could make a better friend"

Swayam : "Kriya aisi baat nahi, ur my best friend and there could be no one better than you"

Kriya : "Aisa hai toh plz manjao...aur humme team ko bhi manana hai, and seeing you guys dance would actually feel like living my own dream"

Swayam couldn't do this, but this would break Kriya further and he didn't want to crush his friend further, she's always been a there for him and to just make her feel better he agrees to her but at the back of his mind he wants to find a way to see hids friend dance again.

"Okay par dance nahi kar rahi hai iska matlab aisa nahi ki tum hamara help nahi karogi...tum hamara saat rahogi hamesha"

Kriya:" Main hamesha ap login ke saat rahungi"

Both gave a reassuring smile to the other but thye knew they had a humongous task ahead, this wasn't going be easy!

Just then Swayam received text from Rey

"Meet me latter at BB court"

Sudden message from Rey confused him,' what could be the matter, did Kriya inform Rey about her decision?' he turned to kriya...she gave him a "any problem look", he just nodded and said "let's leave"

Later in the evening: BB court

Swayam reaches there, finds Rey dribbling the ball so vigorously. This worries him, taking a deep breath, he walks upto Rey;

Swayam: "Hey bro"

Rey still not looking at him says "hi" in a meagerly audible voice.

Swayam: "Rey you okay na, subah se dekh raha honn tu toda upset lag raha hai...batana koyi problem hai kya?'

Swayam was talking to him as normally as possible to ensure he doesn't further disrupt the already disrupted mood of Rey. He couldn't figure out the reasons for Rey's mood...did Kriya tell him about dance...was her decision affecting him so much? They were too many questions haunting him but all hiss efforts to start a convo went in vain as Rey just didn't care to reply. Finally after a while Rey gets rid of the ball in his hands and turns towards Swayam.

Swayam: "Rey bol, koyi problem hai kya? Tune mujhe yaha kyun bulaya? Kal raat ko bhi tu bohut low sound kar raha tha but you didn't say anything...aisa kyun kada hai...kuch toh bol"

Suddenly Rey speaks in a stern anger filled voice,

"Main kya bolu Swayam? Tu bol...chal kya raha hai?" he raises his eyebrows as if like challenging swayam to continue.

Swayam: "Rey tu mujhse aisi kyun baat kar raha hai...yeh kya keh raha hai tu, mujhe kuch samaj main nahi aa raha hai?"

Rey turns his hand into a fist, trying hard to control his anger. Swayam observes his actions and speaks, "Rey,..." he's interrupted by Rey...

"Samaj toh mujhe nahi aa raha hai ki main kya bolu...Samaj toh main nahi paa raha hoon ki mera apna dost, jisse maine apna bhai manatha tha voh mera saat aisa karega..."

Swayam could sense betrayal and hurt in his voice, as much as Rey's words were hard they were confusing too...he couldn't clearly get what Rey meant,

Swayam: " Rey tum yeh sab kya keh rahe ho...mujhe kuch samaj main nahi aa raha hai...maine aisa kya kiya...teek se bolna?"

This frustrates Rey further, at a raised pitch he says,

"Teek se sunna chahta haina tu...toh sunn. Pehle toh tujhe mere samne yeh sab acting karne ki koyi zarurat nahi hai...that you don't know anything...or tumhari yeh so called best friend ne tujhe sab kuch bata diya hoga...haina...even that she likes you more than me...and I don't mean anything to her"

At this Rey's voice choked, he gulped his pain down the throat and continued,

"Tum dono ko RH main ek dusre ke bahomein dekhne ke baad mujhe lag raha hai ki kahin yeh tum dono ka plan to nahi tha...ki dono pehle Rey ko apne jaal mein phasate hai, ek dosti ki aur dusri pyar ki and phir jab apna kaam katam hojaye use chod denge"

Rey, looks at Swayam with an unbelievable look, and maybe for a second he wished Swayam would say this is just not true but his anger took better of him and he continues,

"I must say well done both of you, itna acha plan banaya ki main, The Reyaansh Singhania phus gaya aur tum dono ka kaam bhi hogaya...congratus...well done haan"

Saying this Rey just walks away. Swayam is left behind, socked...he just can't believe what just happened, how could Rey interpret things this way, he and Kriya...didn't he know him better? And what plan was he talking about, is everything alright between them or does Rey think Swayam is the reason behind Kriya quitting dance but why would he even blame Swayam for this?

Swayam just couldn't place his thoughts clearly, he couldn't understand the reason behind Rey's outburst, "Oh god yeh kya ho raha hai, waha Kriya is quitting dance and here Rey's blaming me for it but how does all this make him think about me and Kriya, doesn't he know that I love Sharon and Kriya likes me more than him...what was that? Rey aur Kriya ke beech kya ho raha hai? Kriya ne use kya kaha?"

Swayam just stood there with a hand over his temple and just musing over his thoughts, no matter how many times he thought over it he still couldn't figure out anything. All he knew was his best friends were suffering, they needed him. Then he decides,

"Yeh jo kuch bhi ho raha hai, iske bare main Rey se baat karna hi hoga...ya Kriya se par Kriya toh kuch bateyegi nahi...I'll give sometime for Rey and latter clarify things". With this thought he too leaves the BB court.

Rehearsal Hall

Kriya was waiting for Swayam in the RH he hald her to wait so that he can drop her home. She just sat there starring at nothing in particular, her eyes moistened as the last night's memories flashed in her mind.

And here Rey, after talking to Swayam was even angrier at Kriyam, he had enough of this he needed to relax and one place that would take him away from all his worries was RH. He didn't know that Kriya was still there. He entered the RH and lights went off, he was about to leave but just then he heard a voice, a voice in which he would gladly get lost in, a day before but today it was the one thing that would remind him of all the misery he's going thru, and what she said just made it worse,

"Ohh gosh Swayam, thank god tum aagaye, kabse wait kar rahi thi main...swayam?...u there?"

Rey was trying hard to control his emotions, he just stood there with a folded fist he himself didn't know why he didn't walk away, just then she spoke again,

"Swayam say something plz, u know na mujhe darkness se darr lagta hai"

This alerted his heart, somewhere melting him down a bit, she was scared and he couldn't leave. He steps forward towards her.

"Swayam" Kriya calls out again.

Rey used his lighter and lit it in front of his face.

Kriya saw him and said, "Rey" is a surprised tone.

"Haan kyun, disappointed? Afterall u were waiting for your special someone right?" Rey said it in a sarcastic tone adding an unbelievable look and a smirk at the end.

Kriya knows what's he speaking about, she can sense the hurt in his tone inspite of his smirk.

Rey starts taking steps towards her, Kriya steps backward till she hits the wall.

Rey looking deeply into her eyes, "kya hua, am I wrong? Hmmm...kuch bolo?"

Kriya: "I wanna leave"

"Oh so you wanna leave...btw where??? To Swayam" he had his eyebrows raised as he questioned her intentions.

Kriya trying not to lose hersel, gathers up her courage and with some attitude says,

"Its nothing for you to know about, just let me go"

Her reply was like fuel to the fire, Rey pinned her against the wall, holding her by the shoulders;

Kria was shocked at his move she almost yelled at him, "What the hell r u doing? Just let me go."

"Uff nothing Ms. Ghai, just like how u used me it's my turn now" Anger and rage clearly visible in his tone.

Kriya was taken back by his words, before she could register his words he slowly ran his fingers over her forehead tracing down it her lips, then caressing her cheeks, he leaned forward, his proximity was affecting her a lot, she needs to get out of here but before she could do anything he whispered into her right ear, "But I'm not interested anymore"

He stepped back, and said

"U aren't of my type and a girl like you just doesn't deserve my attention, tum jaise ladki ko use karke hi chodena chahiye, just like how you prefer"

Kriya couldn't believe her ears, how could Rey say something like that her eyes stared getting moisten, unshed tears whelming up and a tear even rolled down her cheek, before she could wipe it lights came back.

"Don't act Miss Ghai" his words pierced her heart, she couldn't take this, her Rey was questioning her character, really?

"I can't believe you said that, and this makes me believe more that you deserved what you got"

This frustrated Rey, he held her tightly by her shoulders, "Really..." he was about to continue but just then he sensed someone approaching;

Kriya was still waiting for him to speak, she spoke "Bolo na ruk kyun gaye, kya chahte hai Mr. Reyaansh Singhani, what do you mean by all this?"

Rey pulled her closer and said "Really you wanna know what I want?"

Kriya felt maybe she's pushing it too much, she was scared her heart might betray her seeing Rey like this so she just took off her gaze and struggling to get off his grip said "No I don't want, let me go"

Rey held her more firmly and looking into her eyes said,
