Part 2
In the morning simreen angad and sohum are taking their breakfast. Sirmeen asks sohum why isn't rajji up yet. "I think... she didn't sleep very much last night. She must be a bit tired". He is very sad and angry at himself, remembering what he said to her the previous night. Simreen is anxious " I hope everything is fine with her. Maybe she still has her fever. Sohum, go check on her, now!" Sohum starts to get up but Rajji comes out of her room with her suitcase.
Angad gets up and asks her what is going on. Rajji breathes deep and respond "Seemran babhi, Veer ji, I am very sorry but i'm leaving this home."
They are very confused and they ask what is going on. Rajji explains calmly that she tried for more than a month to be a good bahu to this house and a good wife to sohum but things are going nowhere. She even thinks that she is making sohum even more miserable than he needs to be so she decided to leave for good.
Simreen says that she doesn't understand what happened suddenly and asks andag to do something.
Angad says that he doesn't understand why she is leaving now that bahujee herself has accepted her presence. Rajji responds "bahujee was very kind to forgive me and my family for the misunderstanding that occurred at the wedding but I'm sure she'll find the perfect wife for sohum as sohum himself agreed on it previously".
Simreen and andag look at sohum very angrily. Simreen starts to speak but angad interrupts her with his hand. He comes closer to rajji and looks at her intensely. "Did..."he looks over at sohum "did something happen that made you suddenly change your decision to stay? Whatever it is, you can tell me." Rajji is about to cry but she holds on and tells "I can't take it anymore." Her voice break but she recomposes herself and adds "I have no place in this house, not today, not in a year. So it's better that I leave now. And forever". Andag starts to speak but rajji interrupts him, putting her hands together "please veer ji, don't make it any harder than it is already. Please." Tears are rolling down her face and she is looking at him straight in the eyes. He nods and makes way for her. "I said from the very first day that the decision to stay or leave this house will be yours. And I stand by my words. We're are not trying to make your life miserable, but if you feel unhappy in this home, if we didn't succeed in making you part of this family, then you have the right to leave and I'll support you in your decision. If any of us ever did anything that upset you, please accept my apologies". He has tears in his eyes as Rajji gets down to touch his feet and just after that, he leaves the living room and goes into his room. Simren calls for him but he doesn't look back.
Rajji goes to touch simreen's feet but simreen takes a step back, crying "no. No. You can't leave rajji. Tell us what happened please."
Rajji doesn't have the strength to explain what happened so instead she says that she is terrible sorry for everything and starts going towards the door. Sirmeen sits down almost falling, crying and she begs sohum to go after her.
Sohum joins her outside and tries to catch rajji's arm but she turns around and points her finger at him "khabardar agar apne mere upadh haat lagaya ekh bar aur!" He is surprised but soon realizes his mistakes as he has been quite manhandling her lately.
They look at each other for some seconds before rajji starts to walk again. But sohum put his arm in her way so she has to stop.
"Rajji. What is all of this?!"
"what does it look like to you huh? I'm leaving you. I'm setting you free. Isn't that what you wanted?"
"Do you think you can just leave like that? What about simren babhi? And veer ji?! Do you only think about you?"
"Babhi... Veer... and you! This is all I've been thinking about all this time but what for? All I got was being insulted, scolded at, and... manhandled. I won't take it anymore. It's better for me and for all of you, especially you Soham that I leave."
She tries to go away but once again sohum gets in her way.
"Well but what about your family? Did you even think about it too? What will they say when you'll be back at their house?"
"they'll probably be glad to see me back when they'll know how you treated me!"
"Listen, I already apologized a thousand time about leaving you alone when you were sick..."
"THIS IS NOT WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! I'm talking about..." but she stops talking suddenly.
Sohum looks at her confused. "What...? What are you..."
"Nothing. Just let me go please."
"But..."
"sohum. I'm asking you to let me go. I can't stay here anymore". She looks at him but she is not angry anymore, just hurt. And he can't bear to look at her so he turns sideways and rajji takes it as her opportunity to leave but before definitely leaving, she gets down and touches his feet before he can prevent her. He looks at her back as she is leaving.
When he enters the living room he is in a shocked state. Simreen calls him "Sohum? Where is rajji?! Sohum, did you convince her to stay?" she gets up and goes closer to him, crying just as hard as before. "Sohum! Answer me! Why isn't rajji with you?" He gets away from her and goes to his room, closing the door behind him.
He sits down and starts to recall things between him and rajji. He recalls how angry he was when he discovered that it wasn't bani under the gungat. He recalls how he dragged her to her maike. He remembers when he screamed at her and almost slapped her. But then he starts remembering when they decided to become friends. She was applying make up with her hair untied. He also remembers when she decided to hold her ground and stay here when his father came for her.
He puts his face in his hands and sits here for a long time.

Rajji walks slowly towards her house. On the road she remembers everytime she thought that married life would be a blessing (when she would joke about it with bani in the beginning), she thinks of how much love sohum has for bani. She thinks about how angry he was when she put on bani's anklet and his letter for bani. Then she thinks about the time he got really angry at her and hit her to the wall because she wouldn't rest. She thinks about their night together but it makes her really sad so she shakes her head and starts walking with determination.
When she reaches her house, at first everyone is happy to see her and they asks why she came. She doesn't respond so they start to worry. Her mother asks if everything is alright. But Rajji still doesn't answer. Everyone looks at each other, confused. Rajji's dad takes her by the shoulders and asks her if something happened. Rajji bursts into tears. They all understand that Rajji is not going back to her sasuraal as they notice her suitcase.
They take her inside. Beeji and binder stays with her and try to ask her what happened but she doesn't seem ready to talk so beeji tells her to rest and that everything will be alright. They help her go to bed and leave.
Outside the whole family gets reunited. They are all silent but suddenly nirvail gets up and starts cussing sohum's family out but sarab tells him to calm down as they don't know what happened at all. But nirvail says that sohum's family probably got back on their decision and threw poor rajji out of the house.
Later that day, Jass goes to give dinner at Rajji but rajji says she isn't hungry. Jass says that whatever happened, she shouldn't starve herself and she insists that rajji eat something. Rajji eat unwillingly.
At night, Rajji doesn't sleep, her eyes are open with tears in her eyes. She has no facial expression.
Sohum, in his house, is lying on the floor (he hasn't the gut to lay on the bed) with his eyes opens, he can't process what happened. Simren is lying on her bed, crying in angad's arms as he is trying to comfort her.
