CHAPTER IV
"I love you Sharon..."
Sharon took in a deep breath. She felt a wave of relief and happiness wash over her. He said it! She turned around to look at Swayam and she felt breathless. His face was glowing and his eyes bored into hers.
"Say it again..."
Swayam took a step forward, his eyes burning with passion.
"I love you Sharon."
"Again"
Swayam continued to walk towards her and stood very close to her.
"I love you Sharon."
"Again..."
Swayam wrapped his hands around her and engulfed her in a tight hug. He buried this face in the crook of her neck and breathed in her lush mane.
"I love you Sharon rai Prakash."
Sharon got goose bumps as his breath fanned her nape. She hugged him back. Their first hug. Everything felt so right, like it was just meant to be. The feeling of being in Swayam's arms sent Sharon into a mental frenzy. She was loving it there.
"I love you too Swayam Shekawat"
Swayam tightened his hold as the words reached his ears. He couldn't believe that this was happening to him, that Sharon was reciprocating his love. For Swayam, it was like a dream come true- of course! It hit him. He was obviously dreaming that Sharon was confessing her feelings when in reality she was probably with Abhay. Swayam cringed at that thought.
Swayam broke the hug much to Sharon's amazement. She was surprised to see a cute baby frown on Swayam's face. She looked at him, her eyebrows raised and saw his frown transform into a pout. He looked at her longingly. It was surely a dream, but he didn't want it to end. Nevertheless he closed his eyes tightly as waved his hand in front of his face in an attempt to shoo away the dream- Sharon.
As Sharon realised what Swayam was up to, she couldn't help herself. She wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed him on his cheek.
"It's not a dream anymore Swayam. It's your reality." She whispered in his ear.
Swayam was overwhelmed. He hugged her once again and kissed her hair. "I love you so much Sharon."
"I know Swayam...I know"
--------------
A peaceful silence filled the car as Swayam drove through the lamp-lit lanes of Mumbai. Time and again he glanced at Sharon, admiring the way the breeze played with her hair. She was a beauty in the real sense. Being with her, he realised that underneath all the fame and fortune she was still the great girl she was before entering the industry. And Swayam couldn't have been luckier to fall in love with her. Loving her was itself a privilege for him. Smiling, Swayam turned his gaze back to the front.
Sharon was enjoying the feel of the cold breeze against her skin. Everything felt so good to her. She looked sideways to see Swayam smiling away to himself and blushed slightly. She never knew love would be like this. The warmth she felt inside her looking at Swayam smile made her feel satisfied. Yes, she loved him. And right now though she was enjoying the calm silence between them, she felt like talking to Swayam. Her eyes fell on a park on her side of the road.
"Swayam stop!"
Swayam slammed the brakes and looked at her surprised. Sharon got down from the car and Swayam followed suit.
"Sharon- What are you-"
"Let's take a stroll in the park Swayam?" she asked him softly, taking his hand in hers.
Swayam smiled at her lovingly and squeezed her arm. "Come" he said and both of them walked inside the empty park.
-----------------
It was a cloudy night with the moon occasionally peeping through the thicket of clouds. The air was cool and moist and it set up a perfect ambience for Swayam and Sharon as they sat on the swings, swinging slightly.
"God I miss these swings." Sharon said, stroking the chain lovingly.
Swayam chuckled. He didn't know that. But he loved the innocence which shown through Sharon's face at that moment. She was so adorable. "You know I miss them too" Swayam admitted with a sheepish look.
Sharon laughed out loud, her laughter echoing in the park. It felt so different, being with him. It felt so comfortable. She could let herself free because she knew he would never hurt her. She trusted him, she trusted his eyes. After swinging and admiring each other for some time, they got down and started walking around the park, hand in hand.
Sharon looked at Swayam and asked "Would you have ever told me if I hadn't come to you today? Or if Abhay hadn't proposed me?"
Swayam looked down at her and gave her a guilty smile. "I would have told you tomorrow if you hadn't come today... but if Abhay hadn't proposed to you I don't know i-OUCH!" Swayam cried as Sharon smack his arm. "What's with you girls hitting me? First Ananya and now you..."
"You deserve it Swayam Shekawat" Sharon huffed. "You are such a big fool. What if I had said yes to Abhay? Then what? You would have become the Devdas of the set and I would have had to bear the guilt for absolutely no mistake of mine..."
Swayam didn't allow her to continue, by keeping her finger on her lips.
"Shush...I am sorry Sharon. I know it was stupid on my part but I also knew that somewhere deep down you loved me and you would become mine forever. That's what made me stretch things Sharon. And my fear of a heartbreak too obviously. That comes along." Swayam chuckled.
Sharon relaxed and rested her head on Swayam's shoulder, smiling widely. Yes, somewhere deep down she had loved him and she had known she would be his forever. A feeling of content washed over her as they both walked under the night sky, hand in hand, cherishing the feeling of being together.
