Chapter Two
Arnav paced in his room, his lips into thin lines. Anjali knew something was surely wrong with him. She walked up to him and placed her hand on his shoulder, she was taken back when his head snapped towards her, his eyes blazing with fire. She frowned as he tried to clam him, shutting his eyes tightly, his both brows knotted.
"Chote.. what's wrong?" Anjali asked in soft voice, while cupping his cheek.
Arnav visibly relaxed and opened his eyes, exhaling for the last time. He grabbed her hand which was on his cheek and squeezed it tightly. He swiftly turned and grabbed the paper from the bed and gave to confused Anjali.
Anjali looked up at Arnav and then looked down at the newspaper in her hand. The silence fell in room as Anjali read the newspaper. Arnav quietly walked towards the pool he had attached to his room and sat on the chair, looking lost in the distance.
Anjali closed the newspaper and closed her eyes, trying to hold herself together. She opened her eyes and walked towards the pool. With a small smile on her face, she sat down beside her chote and patted his knee, looking at him.
"Chote.." She whispered.
Arnav turned and looked down at her. The lost look on his face twisted Anjali's heart painfully. In that moment, she got the glimpse of the small 5 years old boy, who's head was in an old woman, who was soothing him as he sobbed painfully in her lap. The lost and dead look in his eyes...
Anjali blinked as Arnav turned away from her. She didn't want her brother again in that depressing, dark phase which he faced when he was so innocent and small. She gulped the lump in her throat and leaned her head on his shoulder, while rubbing his arm.
"Chote, so many years has passed. Please.. Chote. I can't see you in pain. Please, forget what happened and try to move on in life." Anjali's voice broke, but she managed to not to shed a single tear.
"Forget?" Arnav chucked dryly. "It's not that easy. They killed everyone di. Everyone. It's not easy to forget." Arnav whispered.
Anjali closed her eyes and bite her lips. She tightened her grip on his arm as she recalled another glimpse of their bitter life. But, she quickly shook her head.
With a determined look, she grabbed Arnav's arm and made him to look down at her. "Arnav. Please, I only have you. I don't want to loose you. Please, promise me you will always be safe. Please?" Anjali whispered. Arnav gave her a weak smile and nodded.
Anjali wanted to throw her arms around him and hug him tightly. But, she knew, he forgot hugs when...
She smiled at him and frowned as a small voice was echoing in their ears.
"Mummyyy!!"
Anjali smiled as Arnav jumped on his feet and grabbed the small girl in the air and pull her in his arms, tickling her, making her giggle. Anjali wiped her tears which suddenly dripped and smiled at the scene in front of her. Arnav stopped the tickle when the little girl gasped and jumped out of his arms, making him panick, she quickly ran to Anjali.
"Mommy.. save me from this monster." The little girl whispered and buried her face in Anjali's stomach. Anjali laughed softly as she looked at Arnav who played with her daughter again.
Her eyes momentarily casted on the newspaper lying on the bed, but she quickly looked away as the two little persons of her pulled her from those disturbing thoughts.

Khushi sighted as she bunched the fat pile of documents and put in a brown file. She chewed on her lips when she looked around the pin drop silent, lonely office, waiting her to move to eat her. She looked down at the file, which Rachit had give her to work on. She looked around in the reception, in case if any peon was working late. Even, Rachit was good in work, he was worst monster in women. She had some rumors also, that he tried to do something with past secretaries of his. But, at that time, she considered them as rumors only because she was desperately in the need of a job. But, now she can't deny the truth of those so called rumors.
He was really not a guy, you should be talking to. Rachit never missed a chance to touch Khushi, or go near her, invading her personal space and the professionalism also. She glanced at the watch, hanging on the wall and exhaled soundly.
Be out in 30secs, be out in 30secs, be out in 30secs...
Khushi chanted this mantra in her mind as she knocked on the door firmly.
"Come in." A grunted response came. She pushed the door open, clutching the file in her hand.
"Sir, woh.." Khushi trailed, feeling little uncomfortable with the way, Rachit smiled at her. The smile was... freaking her out. The unknown warning bells were ringing in her mind.
Go..Run.. Go.. Run..Go.. Run..
Her instincts immediately started alarming as soon as her eyes feel on the liquor bottle on the table of her boss. She gulped as Rachit pulled himself up on his feet and while mumbling some incoherent words, he stride towards Khushi.
Khushi immediately winced when her nose smelled the nasty smell of that liquid. Her face scrunched up and she quickly stepped back, when Rachit tried to reach for her.
"I think, I will take you leave." She mumbled and was about to close the door when Rachit grabbed her wrist and pulled her inside his cabin. He grinned wickedly when Khushi yelped and started fighting with him, telling him to leave her. He roughly grabbed her waist and his fingers grabbed the material of her dress. Khushi sense his fingers on her collarbone and without wasting any minute, she lifted her knee with a force...
Khushi quickly threw the file and grabbed her purse. She could hear the loud screaming of her Boss. She hugged the purse to her front and ran with her life. Her heart was pounding loudly, adreline was pulsing through her. She could feel the thumping of her heart in her throat. Her legs felt like jelly but she dragged herself to the lonely exit of the building.
The cool rainy air kissed her skin, she blinked as rain poured wildly. She looked back as her ears blanked with the only voice of wind flying and the grunts from the black pitch sky. With small shaky steps, Khushi looked around, checking if someone was following her. She shivered as rain drenched her completely, her skin was getting cold than ice due to the the constant raindrops on her skin. Her lips trembled, when a flow of air passed her. The road had no vehicles. Not a single person standing on the bus-stop. She lowered her head as kept walking and suddenly she bumped with something.
She winced as her belly was suddenly pressed with the hard metal, on her knee, she could feel the little heat. She frowned and blinked down, carefully she stepped back.
"What the..."
She had bumped with the bonet of the car, she jumped when she heard the swearing. First, she thought it was Rachit, shivering, she peeked through her hairs which were covering her face, as the curtained on the side of her face.
"Hey.."Arnav said, irritatedly as he eyed the girl who was drenching in the rain, hugging the purse to her front and had noticeable bruise on her wrist. He ran a hand through his face, to clear his vision as he was himself was drenching in the rain. He frowned when he got the little glimpse of her fair skin and trembling pink lips. His heart accelerated with such a force that it shook him totally, internally.
Khushi gasped as her eyes met those deep dark brown which were continuously haunting her from the past days. She gulped and wanted to diffuse into the thin air when suddenly she felt the intensity of that gaze. Her teeth chattered as the rain suddenly increased its pace. Arnav's eyes bored on the girl standing in front him, chattering, shivering, her damp hairs falling on her face, blocking her angelic face.
He gulped and averted his eyes from her. He frowned when his eyes again fall the bruise on her wrist. His lips set into the thin line, without thinking he stalked towards her and hissed "What the hell you are doing here?"
He cringed mentally as she shakily stepped away from her. He gulped and exhaled loudly, the cold water of rain didn't helping him, calming down. He glanced at the area around them and then turned to Khushi who was nervously looking at him, all ready to run away from him.
"Let's go, we need to find some way." He said, loudly as rain was pouring between them. He didn't get the reply, but his eyes remained on her. After some moment, she nodded slowly and he turned, he didn't have to look back as he knew, she was following him.

Khushi gulped as she watched rain pouring down. Her heart was thumping loudly in her ribcage, demanding to come out. She shuddered and hugged the purse to her chest, her fingers slightly rubbing her neck, where that dirty man had led his fingers on. She glanced nervously at Aranv who was frowning and dabbing his fingers on the blank screen, which only showed Battery low!
Arnav cursed and fished his cell into his pocket. He looked up and frowned. They were sitting on the benches which had shed on it. All the shops were closed. The water drops were dripping down from the small hole in between the bricks of the shed. His jaw clenched as the drop suddenly fall on his forehead, his face turned red and suddenly his head snapped towards Khushi, who was looking at him. Her eyes went wide and she quickly turned her attention away from her, again her hands tightened on the purse.
She gulped as the darkness was dangerously creeping, gulping down the street lights also. A car honked suddenly, startling her. Arnav jumped on his feet and was about to walk when he turned to Khushi who was looking at the scenario with wide eyes.
"What?" He snapped and frowned. She blinked and before she could answer.
"Just come." He said and walked towards car. Khushi nervously glanced at the old driver which was adjusting the headlights. Finally, she stood on her feet and yanked the door open and climbed in.
