Chapter 1

Fairytale-

"Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all" a strong voice of a pretty face asked the mirror, to which the mirror as always replied "Queen, you are full fair, 'tis true, but Snow White is fairer than you." The queen had a grin on her face. The mirror always pleased her. Apparently it was the only thing in the whole palace that used to praise her but now it wasn't doing so. The king after the demise of his 1^st wife kept himself busy serving the kingdom to avoid remembering his 1^st wife. And the queen very well knew that the only reason he married her is because he didn't want his daughter "snow white" to feel the absence of her mother.

As the Queen was admiring herself in the mirror, she heard a sweet voice giggling out in the garden, Queen walked to the window , she sighs as she finds snow white playing with the gardener. Queen closes the window abruptly and makes her way to the garden.

Snow was having a fun time with the gardener, the gardener calls out to her "Oh snow, look, a butterfly" Snow white runs quickly and her beautiful eyes widened as the butterfly sat on her shoulder, The gardener couldn't stop smiling at the beautiful site. Snow slowly raises her hand and the gardener holds her palms and says" You'll be the world's most beautiful Princess ". She looks at him and they couldn't help but just smile and admire the butterfly.

" Snow!!!!" yelled the Queen to which Snow startled causing the butterfly to fly away. The Queen marched towards both of them, the gardener quickly leaves snow's hand and bows his head, "how many times have I told you, you don't have to mingle around with these" she looks at the gardener with a disgust look ,"these servants! Now go back to your room Snow. It's your Birthday tomorrow, probably you should have a look at the many dresses your father bought you." She said this in a jealous tone. Snow white looked at the gardener with an innocent smile and moves silently towards the room.

Present time:

The door opens, and she walks in her room. On her bed laid some really pretty dresses, She picked the pink dress and walks to the mirror, holds it on her and with a faint smile says "Happy Birthday Sharon" It was her 17^th birthday. And just a year ago her dad passed away. She didn't want to celebrate her birthday but her Step mother wanted to, which Sharon never understood why, "wo toh muje pasand bhi nai karti, phir bhi mera birthday manana chahti hai, pehle toh kabhi itna excited nai hoti thi." She paused for a second "shayad wo muje dad ki kami mehsus nai karna chahti" smiles back and goes to get ready.

She walks out of her room and passes the empty passages which lead her to the dining room. She sat, and kept staring at her dad's chair. "Good morning Sharon" greeted Avantika Rai Prakash, her step mom, as she sat on the chair, she notices that Sharon's expression had changed, "What's the matter Sharon, aise kya dekh rahi ho?" Sharon looked sad, confused and disturbed," Wo, wo dad ka chair hai, waha sirf dad baith the hai" Avantika looked at Sharon with a "grow up Sharon" look and said " baiththe hai nai..baiththe the!" Sharon couldn't accept it, She gets up from her chair, and walks away. Avantika stares at her as she goes. "Aaj unki jagah pe baith gai toh itni problem hai,yeh ladki ko agar pata chala ki uske mare hui baap ne saara business aur property uske naam pe ki hai toh muje yaha khade bhi hone na de. Iska dil jeetna padega sirf tab sab kuch mere naam karne milega"she takes a deep breath and grabs an apple and takes a bite.

It was Sharon's 1^st day in college; she walked by as everyone stared at her, which wasn't new to her. She was the fairest of all in college and very beautiful indeed. She reached near the notice board and was scanning the names of her partner for chemistry practical's "Swayam Shikhawat, Oh no, ek ladka mera partner hai. Matlab phir se wohi flirting,cheap pick up lines aur pata nai kya!" She takes a deep breath and turns and bangs into a girl. The girl nervously started talking as she picks up everything that she dropped"OMG I'm so sorry, wo college mein mera 1^st din hai, aur main bohot zada nervous hu, wo itne saare log hai yaha aur itna bada college, kaha kounsi class hai kya pata, Tumhe kuch samaj me aa rha hai kya?" she was a pretty,slim, dusky girl whose silky hair kept playing with her face each time she tugs it behind her ear. Sharon smiled "Its okay, calm down, tum kounse class mein ho? FYBsc?" Girl nodded yes. "Toh list me dekho tumhara naam kaha hai aur Chemistry practical ko tumhara partner koun hai" The girl looked at her even more confused. Sharon was a bit surprised but the loving and helpful that she is, she goes ahead and helps her," Ok. Tumhara naam batao, main dundti hu"

"Taani Shikhawat" answered the girl.

Fairytale:

The maid enters the room and finds Princess Jasmine near her window staring at the mountains far away from the palace. "Princess Jasmine, the Kings wants to see you now". Jasmine walks silently to the court room. Her father introduces her to the best teacher in town. "Are you happy now my Child" asked the loving King as the professor walks out. "You said you wanted to learn about the world, you wanted to know what's happening, Now you can, He is the best teacher in the whole town." Jasmine wasn't happy "Father I wanted to learn about the world by being a part of it, not by sitting inside my palace and reading some books" she said as she held his arms "Father please, let me go and see the world, I wanna see what's it like out there" Her father looked outside the window sadly, he knew what his daughter exactly wanted. "You can't be one of them Jasmine, You're a princess. It's not safe for you to go out there on your own. Our kingdom has enemies and they know you're my weakness"

Present:

"Home schooling, are you serious?" Sharon was surprised. "haan, mere dad nai chahte the ki main school mein jau" Taani replied sadly. "but maine finally mere dad ko convince kia ki wo muje college bhejde, unhone terms and conditions rakhi jo maine manli" taani completed her sentence and kept her hand on her chin. "kounse terms and condition?? "Sharon asked curiously. Taani pointed out to the men wearing black suit. Sharon quickly turns and looks, "wo tumhare bodyguard hai?"asked Sharon who was amused. Taani nodded yes. Sharon was surprised, she smiled and held Taani's hand and said "I must say Taani, you are really special to your dad"

A guy comes in and sits next to Sharon, " What the hell Sharon, main tumhara notice board k paas wait kar raha tha, aur tum yaha ho, aaj ka din hi kharab hai, weather bhi dekho, kitna barish ho rai hai, seriously so irritating" He stops when he realizes that Taani was staring at him. He looks at Sharon and then at Taani,looks on the other side and again at Sharon who was staring at him and signaling him to say something to Taani. " Oh please Sharon, now don't tell me to say Hie to her" Said Nilesh and Sharon looked abruptly at Taani and said "Taani, meet my friend Nil. Iski baat ka bura mat manna, Ye bachpan se aisa hi hai, saddu!!'' Nil gives Sharon a stare; she smiles and gives him a side hug. "Par dil ka bohot acha hai" Taani smiles at them and puts her hand forward "hi Nil" He looks at her hand , Taani felt a little awkward and was about to put her hand down when Sharon hits Nil's arms and so he gives Taani a shake hand, ofcourse forcefully! "and by the way, You can call me Nilesh"said Nil with full attitude, Sharon looks at him with a why are you acting like that' look. Nilesh just takes a deep breath and gets up from his seat "I guess hume class me jana chaiye, college me admission yaha park me baithne k liye toh nai li hai na" Sharon stands up and gives him a salute and says" Yes Sir"

"Grow up Sharon" said Nil giving her a faint smile, Sharon started giggling.

Taani kept staring at the two. She never had a chance to make friends, Nilesh was the first guy who actually spoke to her, the only guys she would be around were her bodyguards,who right now were staring at Nilesh, Taani looks at them and at Nilesh, before he would be interrogated by the guards She gets up quickly, "yeah you're right, we should go to class"

SHaron entered the class followed by Taani to whom this was all new. Everyone was staring at Sharon and Taani as they were the pretty ones,Sharon sat and Nil was about to sit next to her when Taani stopped him "Kya main Sharon k saath baith sakti hu please" Nil looked at Sharon who was confused what to say to either of them, She can't say no to Taani, she knew how different things are for her and the only thing that made Taani feel normal was Sharon, she could do nothing but give a helpless smile.

Nil looks at Taani and speaks to her with a straight face " Listen, tum pata nai kyu itna strange behave kar rahi ho. Agar Sharon k saath koi baith tha hai toh wo main hu.Itni badi class hai, tum kahi pe bhi baith sakti ho aur wo.." He was about to say further when he was interrupted by Sharon's cold hand holding his arms. He knew what this was, Sharon wanted to help Taani. He rolls his eyes and looks at Sharon " Seriously!! We always sit together! " Sharon gives him a smile and raises her eyebrows, something she always did to melt his heart. Nil unwillingly picks his bag, but before he moves, he stares at Taani for few seconds and then walks away.

Taani was relieved but at the same time confused. Why was Nilesh being so protective about Sharon. Were they like dating or something? Hell no! It doesnt seem like they are in love! Its more like he feels he needs to protect her, as if he thinks someday he will lose her and like Sharon is his only family member left.
