The blazing Sun reached the rain soaked ground making its way in different directions. The wind accompanied and the window curtains drew figures in air merging in the flow. Finding its way, the rays entered in the room falling on the calm and serene face of taani. She moaned with the little disturbance in her sleep furrowing her eyebrows and clutching the pillow tighter with one hand. Her other hand searched for the missing warmth over the bed sheets with eyes still closed. She gradually realised the absence of it, finally opening her eyes a little which fall straight on the other side of bed. It was empty. The warmth she was searching for was missing. Rey was missing.
Holding the covers over her body clutching it above her bosoms, she finally got her back off the bed as her eyes roamed all over the visible places.
"Rey!!" She called him and awaited his voice. No response.
"Rey!!!" She called again. Still no response.
Wrapping the covers over her naked body, she rested her sole on the cold floor, standing up. Her head moved in all the directions, while out of the blue a sudden fear started gripping her.
"Rey!!!" She called louder. Her breath getting shallow by every passing minute. Her hands which hold the covers tightly started shivering. No later, she realised the tears had already glittered her eyes.
She knocked on the bathroom door. "Rey, you in there?!" She asked. The feeble force from her knock opened the door a little as she pushed it further to search inside. The cream tiles looking all dry and clean while the only source of water remained the leaking tap. The bathroom was unused and empty. She closed the door again, getting slower on her feet. Suddenly she felt weak. Immensely weak.
The black Jaguar stumbled a little as it moved on the almost broken road with pits everywhere. It was a usual aftereffect of rain. Swayam drove calmly successfully escaping some of the pits. He looked at the back seat. Rosie was making phone calls continuously, delaying Rishi's meetings. On the other hand, Rishi was quite calm and lost. They were about to reach the destination and tension in the environment could be easily guessed. No body had a clue about what will be the seen when they'll reach the place.
"Yes. Sir wants his car at the place..." Rosie said over the phone. She paused to listen the other person on line. "..ya! I am sending you the address.." She paused again. "Ya! Okay!" She chucked the call looking straight at Rishi.
"Sir, they are coming with the car." She informed. He just nodded. Though they have arrived with Swayam there is no way he would get back with this Singhania. He just want his daughter back and safe.
"Swayam, how much more?!" Sharon asked in a low voice. The morning Sun has brought a sudden fear. It was inescapable. All the time a feeling haunted her like something bad is going to happen.
"Just a few minutes more.." He said still concentrating on the wheel. The confidence over his brother was strong enough. He didn't cared more.
Wearing her clothes, Taani got downstairs looking for Rey.
"Rey!!" She called. The hall filled only with inanimate objects while the kitchen was empty as well. Her eyes roamed all over the place searching for a single face. She was lost. Too lost to allow herself a breath. Unknown to herself, she was choking. Life didn't even took a day to turn tables. Millions of questions lurked in her mind. Where is he?! Why is he gone?! Is it just a coincidence or something else?! Her heart raced as she thought over 'something else.' Did he betrayed her?! Used her?! And suddenly the face of Shreya croosed her mind with the lines she had once spoken to her.
"Tum bhi haar jaogi taani. Tumhare saath bhi yahi hoga. Reyaansh Singhania is not a human. He is a BEAST."
Suddenly the eyes which were until now glittering, filled with rage. She felt a fire igniting in her and instantly, her hands grabbed the vase on the side table throwing it harshly on the main door. It clashed with the side of the wall beside the door turning into pieces almost at the same time, as the door pushed open and a small cluster of people entered inside to witness the horrible view. Taani fall on the her knees while her screams echoed in the room. Rishi and Sharon halted immediately seeing the sight. Its rare out of rarest cases when she breaks down. Catching almost everything that came in her hand, she threw it away oblivious to the other people in the room. With a last scream, her tears empowered her anger, weakness empowered her rage and she laid on the ground crying while occasionally fisting on the ground to get out her anger. As soon as she fall completely, Rishi got out of trance reaching his daughter immediately. He touched her arm as she lied on hard cold floor sidewise looking nothing in particular. Her body numb and cold while her eyes impassive. She just whimpered quietly not at all responding to his touch.
"Taani.." He called and she remained still as if she didn't heard. Rishi suddenly felt his eyes getting wet. He pulled her back making her sit on the couch. Following his pull like an inanimate object, she sat along with him still numb and unresponsive.
"Taani..." He called her while cupping her cheek. Sharon brought a glass of water forwarding it to Rishi. Taking it almost instantly. He brought the edge of the glass towards her lips. She remained passive. Rishi find his vision getting blur. It was hardest to see his biggest strength in this condition.
"Taani, speak to me! Its me, Your dad!!!" He jerked her a little.
"Taani, say something.." Sharon nudged. There was no response. Swayam saw it all rooted at his place.
"Taani, listen to me!!!" Rishi shouted pulling her to face him. "Meri beti itni kamzor nahi hai. Vo iss tarah haar manke nahi beth sakti!!! You need to stand again!" She slowly upifted her eyes to meet his. A ray of hope reached him. "Listen to me taani! You are not the one, who'll give up. You have never given up on anything. My daughter has always learned to give it back with double power. You are my ultimate strength taani! You can't lose like this. You can't make me weak!!!" Her eyes catches a pleading look in his eyes instantly making a chill run down her spine, bringing her back.
"Dad.." She whispered, finally making him relax. "Dad!!" She pulled him into a hug keeping her head on his chest as she shed her tears for different reasons. She had millions.
"Taani, don't worry..mein hu yaha pe!" He caressed her back. She cried more until becoming all silent and still in his arms. Frequents sobs escaped as she wet his well ironed shirt. Her eyes empty and emotionless staring at nothing in particular suddenly falls on the translucent mirror of the table in the hall. While sitting on the couch, her reflection quite visible in it. A chill ran down her spine as she saw it; A shrill of shame and disgust. The girl who lost. This is what she would be called. But was she really ready for it?! She exhales a deep breath as she thought of it. Taani Shekhawat- who not for once back down, who has always fount and win, will she ever be able to handle the humiliation of losing in front of Reyaansh Singhania and not getting up. No!! Its better to choke to death than to face that humiliation, her inner voice spoke loud in her mind and she exhaled another breath before pushing her head off her father's chest. He slowly caressed her hairs trying to find something in her eyes and a sudden blaze came in his orbs as he notice nothing but determination, anger and hatred. His taani is back. She stood on her feet, quickly followed by him. Wiping her cheeks with her cold palms, she looked at every single place in the room expecting an answer from her.
"I want to meet Rey." She stated flatly.
"Nobody knows where he is." Swayam spoke finding some courage. His brother's act has left him into nothing but shame. It was something even he didn't expected.
"But I know.." Taani trailed and looked at all the faces again. "..and I wish to visit alone." She stated walking past Sharon and Rishi and reaching Rosie straight.
"Call for another car for Sharon and dad. I am taking this one..." She stated. Rosie nodded instantly. "..GPS will be on. You can trace me. But don't allow anyone to follow me..I want to handle this ALONE." She looked at her expecting an answer.
"Yes mam." Rosie said almost in a whisper.
"If you find my position missing, tell dad immediately. I don't trust anyone anymore..." She paused and took a step passing her when she stopped on her treks and looked back at her. "..I hope I can trust you this time, Rosie." She arched her eyebrow.
"More than anything." She reassured. Taani sighed and moved outside finding the driver ready with the car.
"Give me the keys. I'll drive." She ordered and with a second of confusion to register her words, he quickly took out the keys placing them over her stretched palm. Walking past him, she opened the door settling herself on the driver's seat. The engine switched on as it roared slightly and the car drove off the mud covered, almost broken road leaving a trail behind.
The guard quickly opened the door as taani's car stopped in front. While he took his time, she glaces up at the huge building in front of her. One of the most renowned townships in the city. It was the Orchids. Memories flood up in the back of her mind but before they could surface, she glances at the front. The way was clear. She drove past the saluting guard reaching at the foot of the building. Another guard reached up to open the door for her and without waiting even a second, she gave him the keys to park the car as she hastily walked through the lobby reaching the elevator. The button lit up as soon as she pressed it indicating the lift is coming down. She waited anxiously tapping her foot on the tiled floor before the door opened and she gets inside, pressing the button for top floor almost immediately. The door closed again trapping her inside the closed walls of the lift. She suddenly felt choked. May be not because of the lift but due to her inner fight. Deep down, she was hurt...badly hurt and she wanted an explanation before anything happens further. She wanted to hear it from him, from his own mouth. His reasons..his points or may be she still felt that everything was just a confusion that he might just clear. She was too confused. The whole situation was f**king confusing. How can he leave without uttering a word. How can he leave her hanging?! His betrayal might not be that hurtful but his leaving surely is. May be she still felt that he couldn't betray her but then the fact that he left her all alone was making her mad. Completely mad. She needed to see him and he so needed to answer all her questions.
A small blink voice came and soon the doors opened again. She left in hurry standing in front of the main door of the apartment. The apartment from where the actual story started. The apartment where he brought her after that unexpected attack on her. The apartment where they came eye to eye and she declared on his face..yes, she hates him. Hate and nothing more and he had claimed indirectly that he cared for her. Lets see how much of it was true. She goes to ring the bell only to have a sudden urge to see if the door is already open. Pressing the knob, she gave the door a little push only to see it opening involuntarily. Leaving it on its own, she moved inside. Darkness filled in the house with nothing but a killing silence. She glances in all directions, not even once finding a single soul. But somewhere her heart knew, he is there. She turned a little glancing at the other side when a sudden voice startled her.
"I was expecting you." She snap at him finding him hiding in the darkness, his face still not visible. She could only make out a few lines of his body, nothing else. He slowly pushed himself off the wall, he was inclining on until now.
"Welcome, back." He grinned as he came forward.
"What's happening?!" She took a step forward, darkness engulfing both of them.
"I think you are intelligent enough to know.." Smirk never left his place as his shining white teeth appear clearly in darkness.
"Lets just get this over with!! For once and for all, Reyaansh Singhania. Just come straight on me and play this eye to eye. I am really tired of this backstabbing now!" She snapped.
"Well, ya right! Even I think the same darling. So lets just put some light on everything." Still smirking, he reached the switches flipping them so that the room is suddenly filled with heavy light. She flinched her eyes closed not able to accommodate her eyes instantly with the light. Slowly getting her pupil adjusted, she opened her eyes again only to find his face very clear.
Standing in front of her in his three piece black suit, completely professional and smirking at her continuously, he remind her of someone. Someone she met back then. She reversed the entire memory lane until she got stuck on a point and here she go. She remembers the person. He is the same Rey she met in the bar that night. That night she met him first. The same arrogant, selfish and lust dripping from every corner of his face. Its then she realised. The old Reyaansh Singhania is back.
"Hello, here! Looks like someone is quite shocked."
"Why should I be?!" She answered back firmly.
"Well, let me guess.." His index finger rested on his chin as he tapped it giving an innocent look, as if in deep thinking. And then he smiled, all of a sudden "..because I got you TRAPPED in your own game. Because I WON!" He grinned at his last words." I got you on my bed with your own will. I made the whole of your plan a 'flat flop theory' and hence I, Reyaansh Singhania won again!"
"Well who told you, that you did?!" She smirked.
"Really?! Don't tell me there's something else in the store!"
"Oh please!! Enough of these blind games!! I am just too much bored from them..lets just play real!" She took a step closer. He raised his eyebrow.
"You don't even have a clue Singhania, how much its taking of my control not to kill you right here, right now!" He smirked at her comment. "Believe me, what you have done has just increased my confidence. Leave degrading me down..You can never bring me down. NEVER!"
"I love that, Taani. So much of confidence..eh?!"
"Just enough for you." Her eyes blazed in anger. "Nobody can leave after messing with Taani Shekhawat." She stepped closer.
"Really?! So what are you going to do doll?!" He smirked again.
"You'll see..but for now just remember..." She places her hands on the edge of his coat and slightly tugged it to straighten. "The game has just begin. See you in the market, Singhania!!" She took a step back looking straight into his eyes as if challenging him. His eyes remain intact with a small smirk.
"Now you'll face the real Taani Shekhawat. And this time its face to face." She turned around her heels moving out in fury.
He looked at her retreating back as slowly the smirk fades away. Never in his life, everything felt so broken..so shattered.
"You are right taani." He slowly mumbles. "The game has just begin."
