+ + + PLAYING CUPID - PART IV + + +
[Special appearence: Dionysos]
"Jiggy!" Randhir shouted, and Jignesh rushed to his side of the room, not wanting to get punched in the eye right before the night of Prom.
"Y-Yes Randhir bhai?!" he stuttered, scared by nature.
Jignesh was dressed in a grey suit, with a white shirt and a pink tie; in order to match Kaustuki's dress.
"What's Sanyukta wearing?" he asked, in a calm yet shy manner.
"I.. Don't know. W-Why are you asking?" Jiggy was confused. Randhir shouldn't care. Randhir never cared. All he cared about was machines, studies, engineering. So, what had happened today?
"Just asking. Go check now," he demanded, and Jiggy nodded and hurried away; he thought the sooner he got away, the better.
Randhir was beyond frustrated. He shouldn't care. He could just wear anything he wants, and if it weren't for Vardhaan sir, he'd just ditch Prom.
But for some reason, he cared today. Enough to want to look good for Prom.
And as if on cue, something fell from his closet.
He picked it up, it was a fancily decorated black and peach box, which obviously didn't belong to him. He opened it, and found a shirt and tie.
It was a black shirt, and a teal-blue tie. He wondered where that came from, because he didn't remember buying anything like that. But of course, there was a letter.
'Apogeyma, Good evening.
You mortals think too much for your own good.
Did you really think Sanyukta would tell him what she's wearing?
Being the kind, helpful being I am, I decided I'd help you a little.
You're welcome.
Eros.'
Again. Eros.
Was this guy ever going to leave them both alone? Probably not.
He decided he might as well go with what Eros gave, as he was clueless upon what she'd wear, unless he decided to sneak into the Girls' Hostel, into her closet and check - and that, he wasn't going to do.
He got ready, even made his hair, styled yet ruffled - the way she noticed him more.
. . . . . .
It had been fifteen minutes.
She wasn't here yet.
Parth wasn't here yet, either.
What if she ditched him.. For Parth?
She wouldn't.. Or not.
Vidushi was here too, wasn't she supposed to be with Parth?
There she was.
And she looked better than ever. With the torso complimenting her curves, and the skirt making her look younger than usual - but in a good way.
She looked, almost flawless. As much as he hated to admit it.
[an idea of what the dress looks like:]
He just stood there. And he stared. Stared at her until she came upto him and waved her hands in front of his fact, only then did he get back to his senses.
"Uh, hey," he said, scratching the back of his head, unable to find words to express himself; not that he wanted to.
"Hey, nice suit." She smiled genuinely, though partly wondering how he'd managed to match her, no one except Kaustuki knew.
"Thanks, you look fine," he said. Just fine. He mentally slapped himself for being such a coward.
"How'd you know I'll be wearing this?" she asked, still wondering and dying to know.
He went closer to her, face inches apart, then whispered to her slowly, "Eros."
Her breath hitched and she nodded, barely. He had this effect.
So together, she wrapped arms in one another's, and went ahead, for what could be a life changing night.
. . . . .
She was drunk. And he was in love. Not with her, just with the world, and the fact that he was with her.
The way she laughed, or chuckled at every single thing, for example, right now it was his hair she was playing with.
"Soft!" she chuckled again, and rested her head on his shoulders, which resulted in him inhaling sharply, and his pulse rate increasing.
"S-Sanyukta.." he said softly, like he almost didn't want her to get off him.
"Whaaa?" she slurred.
Before he could answer, he was up on his feet standing, and she too, except that she was holding on to him as if her life depended on it.
"I want to dance," she pouted, genuinely and damn if he could look away.
"Hm," he nodded without a second thought and followed her as she lead the way.
And it started, the song playing was 'Super Bass,' pretty old, but she danced on it anyway.
Not so late, Randhir started swaying with her too.
It stayed that way, a song would play, and they'd show their not-so-pretty yet crazy dance moves to each other and laugh to themselves.
"The vodka did fine so far, isn't it?" a whisper reached his ears, he turned around - and found a man standing there; one he didn't recognize.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"Dionysos. The God of Wine and Partying," he smirked and disappeared.
Little did Randhir know, that what was to come next wouldn't leave his mind for days.
