A Picture, A Memory
Nupur was surprised to see "like" on a picture from far away and long ago. Not so much. But well, she had not seen it in months but somebody had.
"aray, ye to apne like ke hai.."
Nupur smiled shyly and turned to look at her husband who was apparently busy working on his laptop.
"Jee jee.. mein boring files dekh dekh kr bore hogaya tha,," Mayank replied and shifted to sit beside Nupur. His comment just made her smile broadly and leaving her laptop she shifted all her attention to her husband.
"ye graduation ke pic haina.. Gunjan wanted me to upload it as my dp. Mat poochen kitna azaab dala tha usne.."
SHe shook her head remembering the memory. "Aur apko pata hai? This pic is not of graduation exactly. I took this after a day. It was so hard to get Udhay to give me a whole minute those days. Had to work so hard to get a picture."
"you both share a unique relationship wese.." Mayank replied and placed hsi arms around his wife.
"wo to hai. aur na phir i send this picture to Gunjan and she liked it.."
Mayank chukcled at that and Nupur had shook her head, "my mistake. SHe loved it."
Mayank kissed her shoulder and softly caressed her arm. He loved these moments when they relived a memory. He could neevr get tired of listening to Nupur. She had a brilliant memory but she lived in the present moment, Subsequently it was hard to know her past. Except at moments like these.
"She loved everything about you. That is one thing we share."
Nupur may not create these moments ntentionally, but she knew how much her husband loved them. The way he listened to her made her feel glad and. Blessed.
"Han to .. (she fumbled a little under his gaze) acha sunen na.."
She shook him a little although they both knew she already had his full attention. Maybe a bit too much attention.
Nupur: "Han to she loved it. phir meine crop ke and ise dp lagaya. tab ja kr chain aya tha use."
Mayank: "Nupur.."
He whispered softly.
Nupur: "jeee.."
Mayank: "you look beautiful in this picture."
... there. . it was said.. The memory has been relived.. Mayank's heart will now preserve and cherish it till the end of times..
What followed were the usual.. They both were overwhelmed by the connection that was created through this single memory. They felt transcended and in that moment , their eyes met.. and the resulting caresses and kisses paved way towards a new memory that will embed the essence of what they are: a couple in love! <3
