The Title - Unique but then most of your titles are :) Who wouldn't like being invited to a party where we have to RSVP and are given a dress code (Naked words, no less) It's the happening one :) Beautiful banner as well, GT.

Chapter - 1

While the picture you presented of Autumn leaves is pretty ...it is the opening lines that are refusing to leave my head and believe me...I read those lines few days ago (just the opening lines) and the imagery of a woman smoking with thickly applied redstick (enough of it remains on her lips to stick to to the cigarette) with smudged eye makeup and the calmness in her eyes...reminds me of woman post-coital - through the eyes of a man.

Don't know why...but I am seeing a man's white shirt on her with most of the top buttons undone...

I loved it because it is the image of a woman who know herself.

Interesting theme ... notes during a meeting ... look forward to the rest.

The white shirt is implied. So are the long curly hair and tanned skin. There was this small vignette I wrote as Sookie as a part of Death Talkies which just explains this woman - the one I pictured here, from an outsider perspective. Its an image stuck in my head (from Leaving Las Vegas, I think! Or Eyes Wide Shut...can't remember) and I worded it out. Its just I plagiarizing my own stuff cause of ease of access :=)

Chapter - 2

That was the realistic world of the corporate man benumbed by convoluted data twisted with beautiful words where logic could work just as well (I probably am oversimplifying).

I like him. I love him.

Yes, I can very well imagine the man wanting to enjoy a cup of tea at the corner shop at the end of it all...so that he could revel in the simplicity of the world around him without the need to overanalyse it.

I felt I was peeping into someone's mind...someone's personal thoughts penned in his moleskin...I felt as if I was the peeping Tom because was I supposed to know them?

Then I decided yes...because ... by sharing the thoughts he was lightening the burden that was weighing down his shoulders... he would feel lighter. So yeah...I felt alright about my peeping Tom role.

Lovely poem Raizada but what took the cake, the cream and the deep red ripe plump cherry on top is that...na na na na nanna...Loved that 😆

Chapter - 3

When I insulted words (I called them twisted) in the previous comment...I didn't know I had a big lesson, lecture and reprimanding awaiting me for what I did in the next chapter 😆

Okay...Okay...I agree to every word you said about words and also that urgency to succeed is the cause of many an evil.

About betterment...I personally am here (reading RSVP) to better my thought process, learn new vocabulary and wrap my head around how different individuals in this world think different react uniquely to situations and argue their pov. Is it because I have the "unyielding tug in our gut to push our mind to strive for betterment is now carved in our bones" ...I guess so.

RSVP is turning out to be the philosophy lessons that I enjoyed till about two years ago with someone special and have been missing since.

I have something to say about ebeniste vs assembling Ikea product...It is the difference between luxury and necessity. If you are talented, are passionate about working with wood to make beautiful cabinets yet do not not enough work to get you by in life, you may end up assemblingIkea products. It is the circumstances in life that push you into doing things that you aren't passionate about.

P.S - STRANGELY...Extremely strangely...we talked about Ikea products last night at dinner. How the Swedes had the vision to give aesthetics at affordable prices and their brilliant merchandising :)

Heyy... Honestly speaking, I didn't understand a major chunk of it... But the tit bits I understood were beautiful!! More due to an essential lack of a plot and the idea of ideas being worded, i found it very exclusive and unique.. And more of the conversation was about conversing and conversations... Well that's much of what i gathered from it!
I really liked chapter 3 and 4!!
Overall it was a philosophy lesson much of which i could not deduce.. But i really did enjoy reading it!

This is not a story in the way it has a start-middle-end with twists and conclusion. Its conversation between two people about what they are feeling in that moment. Its not really a foreign concept as we have all been there with a friend or a significant other that over the years (in this case its more than a decade) that these kind of conversations are here and there studded in mundane boundaries.

Its not really philosophy but exchange of thoughts that are private and it comes from two people who introspect about their own thought process a lot. Arnav and Khushi are just that.

They are friends first. And the tone in the letter changes from being a man riddled with many responsibilities to a chump who annoys the hell out of you. There are subtle hints to their slowly forming relationship at this stage given how she asks him to share his worries. He isn't the growl-y man who jumps into alpha mode to refuse help, instead he asks for it.

Fiction glorifies the man as always being the forefront of hard working person while the woman stands besides him serving coffee or telling him he works too much. I wanted my Arnav to be the guy who knows when to be hardworking and when to realize that he is drowning and needs a life boat.

Yeah, the thoughts are a little private. And we totally peeked into their private lives :-)

For me, this was about life, how a couple evolve after marriage and a new family, the corporate world, communication. Life is constantly changing and some have this philosophical views about when they were the happiest and want to cling on to that instead of adapting it to every stage of their life. I like Kushi's perspective and I find that most women share this as we are the one who are perhaps most affected with career, marriage, new family and have no choice but to adapt and make the best of it. The corporate world is full of bullshit and one just has to find a way to navigate this crap and learning from mistakes. It eventually loses it's glory and you revert back to what you have achieved on a personal level, I.e. With the most important people in your life. I like how this couple are still communicating albeit by notes and eventually she took the bull by its horns and go for the drive in the country and smell the roses together. Social media has it's purpose but should not be the only way of communication. You miss out a lot by not having touch, in person gestures and all. Those are in my opinion the essential pieces to being humans vs robots. No matter how great skype is (I should know as my relatives oversea watched my mum's funeral live thanks to it), you are missing the human interaction. I am glad that in the end they were able to reconnect live. It is never to late but one has to make the effort.
I thoroughly enjoyed their notes exchange though. Interesting perspective!

Hi there...I read this a while ago. I keep thinking what I should write that'll do justice to it but never come up with anything good enough.
Can only say, I loved this SS...really enjoyed reading it.
It was like seeing some half-formed thoughts, random musings being put in to words and so elegantly at that! I could never have been able to express my opinions so elaborately and wonderfully.
Don't have much to say...
Love your style of writing. It's so fresh; always give me perspective. You're amazing! :) Thanks for sharing this!

And I have been a Khushi all the way. I don't deny that the system, the processes actually are meant for structure and balance, for the entire group /sect / society to progress at the expense of the individual who heads thedesign, the one who breaks through the current system, changes the curve and makes that step jump that should be classified rightly as a disruptor except it is more positive than the term implies

And just as I typed the above, I realize that evolution, nature has always taught us only balance. So while I am with Khushi when she raves the system that makes things simpler, pulls the below average up and helps progress for the whole, I cannot help but realize that if it were not about people - those innovators, the above average minds - then the path to the next big leap wouldn't exist. The roles are clear - people to break through and find the "better" and system to ensure that the better permeates to everyone, even those who could never perceive the better in their entire lifetime if left to themselves.

Does the above sound like a rationalization? Maybe it is but I feel insanely better to know that chaos and order must exist together.

GTH - Imagine me giving you a heartfelt hug for writing this and forcing me to think . Some days I feel like my brain is just rotting away. (What has life come to if one must rejoice even a couple of minutes of coherent (??) thought?)

I keep coming back to this FF very frequently cause how its just me in a moment in time.

The red-bold thing has been on my mind for few days now. Though humanity as a collective force progresses, its always one mind that ignites the spark. Its one idea in one mind that starts the discussion or picks up the first weapon to start a revolution or turn a war to a rabid genocide. We symbolize those minds and brand them in process.

Think about how a country grows - you need lot of single person heroics (in IT world its CMM 1) to start multitude thought process across diaspora. But after 40-50 years, you want stabilization. All the sparks that were ignited have to grow to a mellow flame and then a fire in a speed that's tangible, scalable and acceptable. Its what should happen not necessarily what generally does.

A random moment made me actually login to IF today and open this thread. Randomness galore :)

Strangely, this argument is rather valid every day, is it not? It made sense for something I read this morning as well

You inspired me to say the most profound things I could at the time. Time to write again, I think my green-tea-loving friend - It's been a while and my brain is rotting. si'l vous plait?.
