These two completely different, yet similar people meet at Zain's wedding. His marriage is fixed with Gauhar, an aristocrat's daughter who is incidentally Aliya's best friend. Gauhar is everything Aliya is not. She is modern, while Aliya is traditional. Gauhar wears all kinds of western clothes, ranging from jeans to short skirts and dresses, while Aliya is someone who can always be found in a suit.

Zain Osman Abdullah is a man who is one of a kind. He doesn't believe in love, yet, unlike all other heroes who have a story behind it, Zain doesn't have one. He believes that love is a myth and unlike his friends, has never had a stable girlfriend though he respects girls. Though he is willing to get married, it isn't one of his top priorities, nor is he eager to get married.

Aliya Ghulam Haider believes in the institution of love. Growing up in a family which was based on love, two loving parents, a sister and a very large extended family, Aliya always dreamt of finding someone who would treat her how her father treats her mother. Though she doesn't believe in fairytales, she expects the love of her life to keep her happy and make her feel safe.

This story describes the extreme emotions that both the people go through. They experience Beintehaa' love, hate, anger, passion, and everything that goes along with it. From the worst of enemies to the best of friends and to the most passionate of lovers, Zain and Aliya experience it all.

Aliya comes to Hyderabad to attend Gauhar and Zain's wedding where they meet at an unusual place. The Snow World in Hyderabad is the proud area where they meet for the first time when Zain spills hot chocolate all over Aliya. After a heated argument, they both separate only to meet again on the Snow Slide forced to stand together in line. One kick from Aliya by mistake and they start all over again.

When Zain sees Aliya at the engagement, it wouldn't suffice to say he was shocked but as Gauhar tells him she's her best friend, Zain is forced to put up with her while Aliya narrates the tales of Zain Abdullah's ill manners with strangers to Gauhar.

In the course of the wedding, Zain gets to know more about Aliya. Her likes and dislikes, her family, her friends, her values are all well-versed to him and within a short span of time he starts falling for her. Since he doesn't believe in love, Zain at first is unbeknownst to what is happening to him. He shrugs it off as mere attraction but when he starts seeing her everywhere, he takes consults his friends and family, finally realizing he is love.

In his quest to make her realize that he loves her and also, to make her fall for him, Zain through weird ways seeks her help to understand their religion. A few days before the wedding, when Gauhar confronts Zain, he spills the beans and Gauhar happily agrees to break the engagement thus ending any further contact between Zain and Aliya.

2 years later, when Zain is invited to Gauhar's wedding, he faces Aliya again. This time too, he seeks her help, determined to make her teach him.

In order to take her help, he becomes the sweetest person in existence. He offers her drinks whenever she is tired, drops her home after the preparations everyday and helps her at any chance possible. Flattered by his attempts, Aliya agrees to help Zain.

During the lessons, Aliya sees a different side to Zain which she never knew existed. He had a lot of concentration and was determined to finish what he started. He was hard working and practiced very hard to achieve what he wants to and most importantly, provided the much needed comic relief to Aliya who is stressed with the preparations.

Slowly, Aliya starts falling for the innocent young man who knew when to come out of his shell of a child and knew when to become a man.

Their love story isn't the easiest though since there are many people coming in their way.

Though Aliya falls in love with Zain, her parents, not wanting to wait for a longer time bring in pictures of boys everyday for her marriage, Zain's mother is against Aliya since she is not from an Indian Background and doubts that Aliya would be able to uphold all traditions, Zain's ex-girlfriend starts creating various misunderstanding and of course, what is a story without an out and out villain.

In the duration of these problems, contrary to what is expected, Aliya and Zain manage to come closer than ever before and fall deeper for each other at every turn.

But things come to a standstill as a drunken Zain cheats on Aliya, starting off the Beintehaa hatred. Aliya, who is just about to come clear to her parents finds out that her marriage has been fixed with Zain Abdullah, the man who broke her heart into pieces. Due to the fragile condition of her father, Aliya is forced to marry Zain and Zain, still healing from a broken heart says yes to a girl who he doesn't even know.

Zain, who figures out who it is during the nikkah ceremony, all but leaves the area. After hearing a painful Qubool Hai, Zain reluctantly says Qubool Hai too and hence, they get married.

When Aliya reaches her new home, Suraiya is very happy with her values and immediately takes to the new daughter in law and so does Osman.

During their first night, when Aliya accuses Zain of cheating on her, he blows up and screams at Aliya, infuriating her more. As they realize what they are doing, they lower their voices and make a silent promise to themselves to never let the other live in peace.

Follow Zain and Aliya as they embark on their journey and experience love all over again.
