It is quite rare that a story lends to the readers, both the pleasure of reading and a substantial amount of matter which could very well be termed as thought provoking. While the former makes for a delightful read, it is the latter that makes me want to read more of this story.
The topic of marriage and the contrasting views of people on the same in today's world has always been a matter of consternation. For someone who firmly believes in the institution, it brings with it a sense of uneasiness whenever anyone blatantly rebuffs marriage, chalking it down to a sense of weighing down that it supposedly brings along with it. The chapter wasn't far away from the same in that matter, but the difference lay in the fact that the male protagonist had a way of explaining its stand in such a way that while it might not be a cause for a convert, it would definitely lead to acceptance, if only reluctantly.😊
That there is no emotional blackmail or any other factor (I saw the dig at Parinay😛) making Arnav go through this marriage, is heartening. All the while, it also doesn't feel that Khushi is being slighted or wronged; sure she has been provided a scenario wherein there is a heavy load of temptation😳, but that is one vice a person can definitely overlook. Besides, with infidelity out of the picture, it does not all look very difficult, despite not being easy to digest. And the progression from absolute denial to the acceptance for Khushi was natural, and I liked that a lot.
The marriage has an interesting back story (It reminded of the Anil Kapoor- Kajol starrer Hum aapke dil mein rehte hai) and the current premise where you ended it promises for a very interesting tale to look ahead to. Whether or not there is any element apart from the obvious attraction to look out for remains to be seen, but till then, I'll look forward to the verbal volleys between the duo.😃
P.S. I like for a fact that there's going to be a monologue from Arnav as well.😳
P.P.S. Despite all the reasons given, I can't help but feel that not all the cards have been bared. And the reason for me thinking is not the story, but the writer of the same.😉
