This update is dedicated to ff45reader, for being the most helpful and active reader my stories ever had. My conversations with you about the last three stories I have written, helped me a lot. You gave ideas that helped me to think better and assured me that I am going in a right direction 😳. Love you as a reader dear 🤗. You are so sweet ⭐️ !!!! Love you again 😛 !!!!!
And the second dedication goes to Sindhuramakrish. Dear, you have no idea how your comments have affected me. Your every comment is right here, engraved in my mind. You managed to understand my way of twisting simple words and yet confusing everyone.
After reading so many novels, I could have changed my writing style but I didn't because simple words give me the freedom that nothing else can. Thank you 🤗!!! And sometimes I fear if you can read people's mind 😉. Can you 😆?
ArHi SS: A Thing Called Marriage
Chapter 31
Arnav Singh Raizada always liked to be in control. He didn't remember any single time when he had allowed someone else to lead him. He always had the reins of control in his hand.
It made him feel superior. Powerful. Independent.
But even for the sake of his sanity, he wasn't able to figure out why on the earth he liked how Khushi always managed to make him do something against his wish?
Is it because he always admired people not getting intimidated by him?
Or because he liked how she pushed him out of his defined and familiar boundaries to the sea of uncertainty, fear and anticipation?
It's so complicated, Arnav concluded with a wince. As he glanced down at his outfit for the hundredth time, he went through their conversation again.
He was so worried and concerned for her since the morning that he felt restless.
After leaving her alone in the green room for a long time so that his hired designers, beauticians can dress her up as the showstopper, he visited her only to see her still in the clothes that she had worn this morning when they left for work together.
"Khushi, why aren't you dressed up yet?" He asked looking bewildered.
As Khushi chose to rather bite her nail than to answer him, he looked over her shoulder to see the people assisting her looking angry and tired as well. They jerked their head towards Khushi in annoyance making Arnav understand everything.
Khushi has refused to dress up. But why? Wasn't she the one who insisted on taking this role?
He opened his mouth to ask the same when Khushi suddenly turned and asked everyone else to leave the room except him. After everyone left closing the door behind them, Khushi turned towards him abruptly and pounced on him, hugging him so tightly that his breath whooshed out of his lungs.
Feeling confused, he cradled the back of her head with one hand while the other rubbed up and down her back in an assuring manner, "Khushi?"
"Arnavji, will you do something for me please?" He heard Khushi's muffled voice, her face hidden in his chest showing her reluctance and uncertainty of asking something like this from him. She looked scared of him.
"Sure. What is it?" Arnav frowned not liking this at all. Something was definitely wrong.
Quickly withdrawing from the hug, Khushi picked up something wrapped in a cover and dumped it in his hand "Wear this for me."
Arnav undid the wrapping curiously. The moment he looked at it, his eyes widened in shock and he looked up in something akin to anguish "It couldn't be..."
Khushi shook her head, croaked "It is Arnavji. I don't know how to make you understand but I couldn't keep it in my heart anymore."
Not saying anything, Arnav kept staring at the dress with longing. Khushi stepped forward, cradled his ashen face in her palms "Avinash Papa died while planning this Arnavji. It was his dream. A new start for AR, Arnavji. If he wouldn't have got killed, he would have showcased this four years back. I still remember how excited he was when he showed me this design. When you gave me the opportunity to manage this fashion show, I couldn't help myself from sending this to production. It's the best showstopper dress ever, hundred times better than the one I chose, you know that."
Arnav blinked his eyes furiously holding back his tears as his hands traced the fabric. How can he forget this? When he joined AR as the CEO, it was the first thing he came across. He never allowed his father's last design to be put in any collection of AR.
But it always urged him to be put out of the paper that his father has laid his hands on. Despite the fact that he always considered himself unworthy of doing this, he was tempted over years by this.
No, he cannot do this.
He was about to deny when Khushi again spoke "Arnavji, I think you should know this. Papa made this sketch while keeping both of us in mind. He always wanted to see us in this. He always wanted us to end up together, he told me."
"What?" Arnav spluttered, looking bewildered.
"It is true Arnavji. Every time I met him and Aruna Maa, they both used to say how good I am for you. Whenever I used to remind them that we never met each other, they simply used to smile. Once I asked them whether you don't like me and that's why you always found excuses to not meet me, they said it's just a matter of time. Everything will fall in place eventually." Khushi explained, making Arnav choke at the trust that his parent's had in him.
His parents never neglected him, they always loved him more than anything. What a fool he was to doubt their love?
Feeling overwhelmed, Arnav stood there trying not to break down. He has made a big, terrible mistake for which he will repent throughout his life. Doubting the love of his family for him was something he shouldn't have done.
For them, he always had been a priority.
Doubting Khushi's intentions during the early stage of their marriage was another mistake committed by him. But he couldn't undo everything right?
Even then he'd not want to change anything which has happened in their marriage. Being proven wrong by Khushi was something he admired about her.
It was something which attracted him to her. Wasn't it?
He was pulled out of his thoughts abruptly by Khushi. Shaking his shoulders, Khushi spoke hurriedly "Arnavji, we don't have much time. You will wear it right?"
Glancing at Khushi once, he went away not saying anything. What was he supposed to say? That how wrong he was when he started hating her?
It was his past that he'd not wanted to remember. He went to the green room assigned to male models for AR and took off his clothes, wearing his father's creation at once.
Everyone around him shot him curious glances, but he ignored them.
He glanced at his reflection in the mirror while combing his hairs. As someone came to inform him that it's his turn to walk with his wife, he sighed looking determined.
He won't mess this up at all. It's show time.

Dressed in an off-white and pink trousseau, Khushi felt wonderful. It wasn't because it looked beautiful on her but she knew its value in her heart.
How can she forget what Avinash Papa has told her when he showed it to her? Wasn't he the one who said that he chose white because she looked like an angel in it and pink because it was her favorite color back then?
It was a rather simple dress but the allure it had was unmatchable by any dress that Khushi has laid her eyes on. The intricate threading and pearls work done on the dress magnified the beauty of it.
Despite the fact that she didn't wore any jewellery and makeup, she felt perfect with white-pink dupatta draped over her right shoulder with the other end tied around the wrist of her left hand, covering her back.
The moment she stepped on the ramp, the background was immediately switched to midnight blue than the usual yellow-red. It was a perfect scenario for a wedding taking place under the moonlit sky.
She felt as if she was walking to reach to the mandap of her wedding. She felt and looked like a bride.
And then she stopped in the middle only to feel Arnav standing by her side, looking ahead confidently as if they both were walking together for their wedding. She glanced down at his bare feet. It looked too real. It was something that she wished for her wedding.
That day, she was too stressed to think about it. But today it was everything about them. They started walking together with minimal space in between and smiled.
At the end of the ramp, they turned towards each other as planned earlier and looked at each other. Everything froze. The only thing that mattered was, Arnav.
She saw love in his eyes along with the recognition of it on his face.
The walk that he shared with her was memorable for him. Emotions ran unchecked in his heart, overwhelming him.
Slowly, he turned towards her.
Their eyes met. A sudden realization dawned on Arnav that made him dizzy with its effect and intensity.
He saw their relationship as something he would hold on to proudly and willingly, in every situation- bad or good.
The moment ceased for Arnav. It was too good, overwhelming for him but it was only the truth. The truth that he loves Khushi.
So much that his feeling for her is something that goes beyond any defined boundary of love. It bordered right on the brink of insanity.
Arnav was aware of the people around them, of the deadening applause that has erupted the moment they stopped and turned to each other.
But he ignored. Everything else ceased to exist for him except his beautiful wife and the hope in her eyes.
Of him accepting her finally. Truly and wholly.
His legs took him forward in daze. He cowered over her small, petite form as she tilted her head back to look up in his eyes.
His heart skipped a beat the moment the fabric of his sherwani brushed against her lehenga. The urge to eliminate this small gap between them made him crazy.
Stepping ahead, he trapped her chin between his thumb and index finger, tipped her face up only to brush his lips against hers. He ignored her gasp of shock as her hands rose and held on to his shoulders for support.
Not caring about peoples watching them, he kissed her. It was a kiss that spoke of his acceptance of his feelings.
It was as sweet as his love.

Arnav and Khushi Raizada- Perfect Couple?
It's said that nothing is more romantic than a good love story with a kiss and a happily ever after. Well, well the grand night of the Annual Delhi Bridal Couture Show definitely saw one.
As expected at the fashion show, the paparazzi was dazzled by the stunning display of beautiful and innovative bridal collections by many fashion houses and ran out of ink when it proceeded to the end when AR Designs started ruling the ramp.
It was a blend of Indian culture.
Their collections spoke of style and represented the varied artistic qualities of the different states in India. If the Lucknowi Chikankari done on the burgundy zardosi saree outshone everything else, the Punjabi Phulakari on one of the wedding trousseau definitely started a new fashion trend.
Everyone was waiting for the showstopper dress with bated breath when Khushi Raizada walked in dressed in a stunning white-pink trousseau which wasn't definitely going in the lines of colors used in traditional weddings, but it was totally a winner.
Isn't it surprising?
But it didn't end here. The audience was recovering from the shock when Arnav Singh Raizada walked in, dressed in pristine white sherwani. Many gasps were heard as the CEO of AR Designs was never spotted in any traditional attire before yesterday.
And girls fainted the moment Arnav Singh Raizada stepped forward to pull his wife in a crushing hug and kissed her like a dying person tasting the elixir of life.
We, birdie at TCM News couldn't stop fanning ourselves after seeing the burning love between the two people, tied together in the bond of marriage.
It seems that it was rather a love marriage, than a marriage of convenience as suggested by everyone else when Arnav Raizada married Khushi Raizada.
And we birdies couldn't help ourselves from concluding that Arnav and Khushi Raizada is a match made in heaven. Indeed, they are the perfect couple.
Khushi smiled as she finished reading the article. It was all true. Their show was a huge success and their share prices have skyrocketed. Major textile firms and designers were vying for a chance to work with AR.
But it was the progress in her personal life that has truly made her happy. When Arnav had kissed her in front of everyone, she was flabbergasted and truly pleased at the same. Her toes curled at the intensity of his kiss even now when she revisited the particular moment.
Something which was lacking till now was there. A determination. Surety of his feelings.
It pleased her to no end that finally, finally Arnav has managed to take a stand on their relationship.
And how could she forget the three words that have formed on her husband's lips after their kiss.
"I Love you.""
She would have certainly missed the words that her husband has spoken after their kiss if she hadn't been too focused on him to remember anything else.
She certainly knew what her husband has said when he wrapped his hand around her waist and turned to face the audience, "my wife."
I love you my wife. It was these words that thrilled her to no end. Arnav was sure of his feelings now and was staking his claim on her.
She smiled in glee as she looked at her husband, talking to his PA while wrapping last minute works before committing his entire time to her. They were in his charted plane now, on their way to Goa.
It was her husband's idea to take few days off from the words. As much desperate she might sound, she wasn't able to wait for their vacations to kick start.

Arnav watched attentively as Khushi danced lazily, dressed in a multi-colored knee length skirt and a white loose top. A single jasmine flower was stuck to her unbound hairs while a single chain of white sea-shells adorned her neck.
They had come out for dinner at a restaurant nearby the beach. The moment they finished food, Khushi stood up and went to dance along with some other girls on the music being orchestrated by some locals. He watched in daze as she laughed while dancing with such a grace that took his breath away.
Khushi has always been a bit mischievous but he never saw her this relaxed and happy, after spending only a day in Goa.
The moment they landed in Goa, they took off to see some local fort, temple and then visited the local market. The way Khushi pounced on him every time she got excited, the way she chattered non-stop about things that fascinated her warmed his heart.
He certainly had no idea which places they had visited. All he saw and felt was Khushi and her happiness.
It gave him a great satisfaction that Khushi was enjoying all this lot. They both deserved this break.
His eyes took a rather intense look the moment Khushi looked around to glance at him and winked mischievously once their eyes met.
Suddenly he felt very hot and noticed her in a way that was familiar to him nowadays. He noticed her hips sway, the top sticking to her front at her every twirl, the way her long hairs bounced on her back igniting a familiar flare of desire within him.
He suddenly stood up and walked to her, spun her around only to make her crash against his chest. As Khushi looked at him, he whispered hoarsely "Let's go."
Before Khushi could protest, Arnav half-dragged, half-flew her to their hotel not stopping at her repeated calls ever, making sure that she doesn't get hurt in his hurry.
The moment he swiped the card and opened the door to their room, he scooped her in his arms, shutting the door behind them with his feet.
"Arnavji?"
Khushi asked looking bewildered as Arnav made her stand back on her feet. Cupping her face in his palms, he said looking vulnerable "Khushi, I want to make love to you."
It was a rather question than statement which Khushi understood fully. Hadn't she waited for the same eagerly?
Fisting the collar of his shirt, she whispered earnestly "I thought you would never admit it." Their eyes met again. Desire, love mirrored in each.
Raising her hand, Khushi traced his lips before rising on her tip-toes to press her lips on them and kissed him with a determination that blew Arnav's mind.
And something snapped inside Arnav.
Both of them didn't know who reached for the other first. They certainly didn't remember when the barrier of clothes between them was removed and who disrobed the other first.
As they tumbled on the bed together, Khushi's power to speak was permanently snatched by Arnav's insistent kisses on her lips accompanied by some nips here and there. She wanted to sigh in pleasure at the way Arnav's hands caressed her but her every breath was owned by Arnav now.
Khushi has always been the girl to fight for herself but today she resorted to begging to Arnav, who drove her out of her mind with his intense love making, his hand caressing every anatomy of her body to be followed by his lips, tongue and teeth.
She never knew about the existence of such mind-numbing pleasure but today as they both embarked on their journey of ecstasy together, she felt more alive than ever.
As indulged as she was in their love making, she was elated beyond her mind when Arnav spoke the words that she wanted to hear again, very loud and clear "I.LOVE.YOU.KHUSHI."
"I love you too Arnavji" She whispered before Arnav fell on her, having achieved their primal satisfaction together.
Calm descended on their mind and heart.
They were successful in making their marriage work. Now, their souls were entwined.
Will be posting epilogue soon. I am about to start my new story soon. Please let me know of your opinions on the last chapter of ATCM. Author's note will be posted along with epilogue.
