Part 9

Shantivan

The family welcomed the Gupta Pariwar whole heartedly. It was such a big occassion today. This Roka ceremony was sure to create memories in everyone's hearts forever. Khushi wore a Green Red Lehnga with minimum jewellery which the Raizada family had given her for this occassion. Everything seemed to be the same like 4 years back when she performed the same ritual with Arnav. But now there was a difference in it. Her eyes involuntarily searched for him but he was nowhere. NK came forward and hugged Shashi taking his blessings. Garima held Khushi's hand and asked her if she was Okay.

Khushi: I am good Maa.

Garima: Whom are you searching for?

Khushi didnt reply anything. She was quiet and Purvi thought of putting some light to it.

Purvi: She isnt searching for anyone Aunty. She is tensed. Any girl would. Dont worry, she will be fine in sometime

Garima smiled and left with Devyani for meeting some people.

NK: As usual you are looking Stunning in this colour Khushi. Just mindblowing.

Purvi: Oyye. So much of praises ??

NK: Why not? I have the right to praise her, to tease her. Hai Naa Khushi?

Khushi again passed a weak smile not commenting anything at the moment. All this was seen by Arnav who was forcefully been dragged here in the Living room by Anjali for the Roka. He had no intentions to be a part of this act. Yes. It was an ACT for him. He clearly knew Khushi was not happy with this knot. Her mind was forcing her heart to take this decision. She still loved him somewhere but didnt wanted to show her belief in him once again. She was afraid of being left alone again by him. The whole day he tried talking to her on phone, she avoided but seeing her here now, he couldnt let this opportunity waste.

Purvi was holding the Flowers in her hands to pass it to Anjali when she was suddenly stopped by Arnav. She didnt expected this.

Purvi: Excuse me. I am in a hurry.

Arnav: I know. But I have to talk to Khushi and I know only you can make it possible.

Purvi: Me? Why me? And by the way, what do you want to talk to her now? Today is her Roka and I dont want you to irritate her .

Arnav was angry but he tried to remain calm as he was in need here not she

Arnav; Look Purvi. If I dont talk to her now, we both will repent it someday. So please help me in meeting her alone.

Purvi: Okay fine, but just 10 mins Arnav. Not more than that. I cannot hide her from the family for wrong. Tell me where should I get her?

Arnav: Poolside.

Purvi agreed and left from there. Without wasting much time Arnav left for his room at the Poolside.

Just after some 15 minutes of wait, he finally heard his room door opening and his heart started beating aloud realising she was here. She came inside and found the lights dim. This was typical of his room. He liked to be in darkness. She came in and locked the doors to ensure no one knows she was here. The tinkling of her bangles and her Anklets was soothening his mind and heart and he wished to hear it all his life having her beside him. SHe came at the French doors and found him standing at the poolside facing his back to her. He was wearing a Grey suit which was yet again complimenting his looks.

Khushi came forward and stood beside him almost a feet away watching the calm water of the pool. The small lights surrounding them at this place.

Khushi: I have only 10 minutes.

She didnt wish to waste time in being silent and nor did he. The moment she reminded him how important each second was for them, he turned to her and pulled her close to his body. She never thought he would touch her still and that too so fiercely.

Arnav: Stop all this Khushi. This is not what you want. You are hurting us both.

Khushi: How do you know I dont want this Arnav?

Arnav: Because you belong to me. No one else has the right to make you his except Me Khushi. Agree to it,

Khushi: You are living in dreams Arnav. You have lost every right on me since you broke this marriage 4 years back just because of one small misunderstanding.

Arnav: Khushi I apolozised. I am really Sorry for that step. I know I was at fault. I never wanted to marry forcing you.

Khushi tried to come off his grip but he didnt let her off so easily. His hold on her waist tightened and she could only squirm at his touch.

Khushi: You have no rights to touch me like that Arnav. Just leave me.

Arnav was angry. Here he wanted to sort everything today but she was hell bend in complicating things for them.

Arnav: Tum ek baat bhool rahi ho Khushi. Shaadi ki har ek rasam tumne mere saath puri ki hai. Roka, Mehndi, Sangeet sab kuch. So technically speaking you are still Mine. ( You are forgetting one thing Khushi. You have completed almost every pre marriage ritual with me. Engagament, Mehndi , Sangeet everything. So technically speaking you are still mine.)

Khushi: All that got over when we broke up. This is a new start of my life and I dont want to ruin it by the old talks.

SHe pushed him hard and turned to leave but he held her Dupatta making her stop again. SHe had turned away from his face and she knew if he continues pleading her this way, she would never hold on the control for long.

Arnav: Khushi mujhe maaf kardo. Maine tumhe itna dukh pahuchaya hai. Par main tumse waada karta hoon Khushi. Tumhaari zindagi mein itni khushiyaan bhar dunga ki tum woh sab bhool jaaogi joh kabhi pehle main kiya tha. Bus ek mauka Khushi. (Khushi forgive me. I have hurt you a lot. But I promise you Khushi. I will fill your life with so much happiness that henceforth going forward you will forget all those ill memories forever. Just give me one chance)

Tears dropped from her eyes as she shut them forcefully. He moved closer to her and then turned her back to face him. Those wet eyes were making him feel more guilty . He wanted everything to be back to normal as soon as possible. ANd only Khushi's one decision can make it happen. He pinned her gently to the Poolside wall while she remained numb in his embrace. He cupped her face and pleaded her again.

Arnav: Khushi look at me and speak something. Will you accept me once again in your life?

She didnt respond anything. He wiped the little tears from her eyes and caressed her cheeks slowly with his thumb,

Arnav: Khushi main tumse aakri baar pooch raha hoon. Kya tum mujhse shaadi karogi? (Khushi I am asking you for the last time. Will you marry me? )

She remained still with her eyes close feeling his breathe on her lips. He kept staring at her eyes and then her lips. He wanted her to speak something. He wanted her to confirm something but her silence was pricking his heart. In few seconds, she opened her eyes and looked in his. Her eyes conveyed it all. She couldnt keep herself distanced from him. She noded a weak YES to his questions shocking him, surprising him and making him feel on top of the world.

Khushi: I will.

That reply of hers was so much releaving and rejenuvating that he couldnt hold the smile on his lips. He cupped her face and kissed her forehead. He had no idea how to react. He was getting his Khushi back. What else could he have expected from life now? He hugged her tight and she too left no chance of hugging him back. They needed this much long embrace from years and they got it today. He nuzzled his nose at the crook of her neck while she clutched him tight to bear the tickles in her body by his touch. She was so much lost into him just like he was in her. Her hair little messed up and so was his but why would they care when they were in the world's best position at the moment. Their hug broke when the door knocked and reality striked him first. Today was the Roka and now that Khushi had confessed she still loved him, he had to inform the same to the family , especially NK. He pulled back from the hug and she could read the confusion in his eyes.

Arnav: Khushi we should get down and inform everyone.

The door knocked again and he clutched her hand walking towards the door to open it. Today he had no fear of facing the world and letting them know their decision. NK was standing right outside with Anjali and their expressions were so real enough that even Arnav couldnt guess what was happening.

NK: What was Khsuhi doing in your room Nannav?

Arnav was taken aback when he questioned this directly.

Arnav : NK let me explain everything

NK: Explain ? (He questioned back in anger). What will you explain now Nannav? You think we are blind? Dont we know what was happening here?

Arnav: NK stop. I know you are hurt but its better to sort such things now before its too late. Khushi doesnt wish to get married to you. She may have agreed but it was because she didnt wanted to accept my proposal again. She feared rejection. And if in all this you have to blame someone then its only Me. I was the one who started this Problem 4 years back. Khushi is just confused. She loved me then and she still does it even now. You have to understand this NK and let her make the decision of her life on her own.

Anjali: But wasnt she the one who took this decision? She agreed for the Roka Chotte.

Arnav: But it wont happen Di. I wont let it happen because I cant see her sacrificing her choice because of anyone else here. We love each other. Isnt that enough to stop this occassion ?

Anjali and NK looked at each other and then back to Arnav and Khushi.

Anjali: If you both love each other then this ROka should definately happen.

Arnav was blank. He had no idea what they meant. NK couldnt hold on longer. He chuckled happily placing his hand on Arnav's shoulder.

NK: Okay Nannav. Let me clear the confusion. I am not stealing your Khushi. Dont worry. We all know she only loves you and so do you.

Arnav was stunned.

Arnav: Whaaatt??

Anjali : Haan Chotte and this Roka is not of NK and Khsuhi but yours and hers.

Arnav: What The. You mean all this was pre planned?

Anjali and NK started laughing again and Arnav felt so much more confused. He turned to see khushi who didnt even speak once in all this. But when he looked at her, she could only smile heartily.

Arnav: I see. So you all fooled me all these days? Even you khushi?

Anjali: Ehh. Now dont fight with her. She didnt fool you. We did. She infact took the courage to let us know her final decision yesterday when we had been to her house. She was on your call and me and NK knew it. We just didnt wanted to extend this NK - Khushi marriage track for long. You both were so slow that if we wouldnt had been to Gupta house yesterday, you would have taken years to confess your love for each other. So we had to fool you both somehow just to speed up the process and see . We won.

Arnav smirked but he still was not happy that his own family played such a big prank.

NK: Know what Nannav. Di was telling me from long about how you and Khushi broke your marriage for some unknown reasons. We knew it had to be some sort of misunderstanding, And we wanted you both back together again. So we devised a small plan. I asked DI to put forward my proposal to her family and we knew only then yours and her reactions would come out before everyone. All this was planned before to unite these two lovely souls. Thats all. And luckily kHushi was the first one to let us know that she cant marry me because she loves you still. That was it. We told her about this entire set up last night after hearing her side confession and we purposely planned the Roka today so that she doesnt have to wait for long to hear from you the same. I am happy that I could be of some use to my Nannav and his beloved Khushi in someway.

Arnav had no words to show his gratitude to NK and Anjali for helping him get his Khushi back. He hugged NK tight thanking him and then even his sister.

Anjali: Okay now dont be late.Everyone down is waiting for you both. Come soon.

NK: Yeah. Di? Are we leaving this love birds together for some more time? Dont tell me.

Anjali: NK bhaiyaa samjha karo. Khushi has to get her punishment for hiding her love from Chotte. They will come down only after that. Hai naa CHotte?

Khushi was blushing while Arnav agreed what his Di said. Khsuhi needed a small payback for this. He told Anjali and NK to leave and that he would get Khushi in 5 minutes down for their Roka. He locked the door once again and turned to her.
