A very poignant update this one.
Loss of a loved one is always terrible and sometimes it is the absence of a person that makes you realize how much the person is a part of your life. And I feel Arnav acted naturally. Anjali's death was pretty hard on him and while small bits and incidents have an effect towards your outlook on life then such a monumental tragedy is bound to mould Arnav differently.
And so it might become easy to say that despite the melancholy that a particular incident has effected on you one must go on, it is only the person who is engulfed in the same who knows what he or she is currently undergoing.
I detected a note of aloofness in Arnav. Was he trying to curb the sadness long been buried within him?
A bit about Anjali, Khushi's statement and my views on the same. I can't help but maintain a bit of ambiguity over here. Anjali's death might have been tragic but attachment does account for things that mgith otherwise cause an alteration even in the wisest and sanest of people. That it was another tragedy that brought about her death is only slightly acceptable (I'm not sure if this is the right word) over what I had formed a conclusion about. That Anjali killed herself because of betrayal.
Does that mean I'm championing suicide? No. While in most of the cases, Khushi's statement about suicide being the coward's way out is true, in many others like this one I feel that no life is worth giving up even if it is now devoid of what formed the very essence of it. And so that can be the loss of a loved one, or a personal trauma.
