"The Howling Wind, The Uneasiness, The Strange Feeling In Your Heart...Sometimes That's The Only Warning You Get... "

Khushi roamed her gaze around the place; the lake was a little too calm, the trees were totally still even though the wind was howling...that was weird. Suddenly, Khushi's eyes stopped and widened as she saw the light of the cabin on and what she saw next made her mouth widen in fear and eyes pop out, she saw a shadow standing at the blurred window and all she could make out were two red eyes staring at her direction...

Khushi's eyes widened and her heart went into panic mode, she quickly looked back at Arnav who was still digging through the extra stuff in the trunk of his car, he hadn't noticed anything, not even the sudden creepy change in the atmosphere. Khushi looked back at the window across the wide lake but this time she found nothing there, it was totally dark. Her eyebrows scrunched up in confusion, was it her imagination? Was she just hallucinating two scary red eyes staring at her out of that window? Well, anyone would get these kinds of hallucinations with this creepy atmosphere in this supposedly haunted place. Khushi shrugged started fidgeting with her hands, still somewhat scared?

She walked around the car towards Arnav, "Umm...Arnav? Can we just go inside now?" She hesitantly asked. Arnav popped his head out of the trunk and smiled brightly at her. "Sure...and here take it" Arnav handed over a black shopping bag to Khushi...it was probably the snacks packed for the trip but weren't eaten.

"Thanks" Khushi gave him a genuine smile and turned around, waiting for him to join her so they could walk back to the house.

Khushi pulled the handle down after waving a bye to Arnav standing a little ahead in the corridor. Khushi's eyes widened as she immediately ducked down to dodge the flying phone coming her way, "What the heck!!" she exclaimed, looking at Lavanya's shocked face in shock.

"Oh, I'm so sorry Khushi...actually, I'm just so frustrated! Urgh, NK just had to choose a place where I can't even get good phone reception!!" Lavanya sighed, exasperated. She had checked from the caretaker who had not very politely told her that there wasn't any spa, beauty salon or good phone reception here.

"La!! I thought this was a vacation...taking some time off our daily lives..." Khushi tried explaining to Lavanya.

"Soo?? Doesn't mean we go and sit in some desert for two weeks with nothing!! I mean this isn't a desert...but it's like a desert...but I know there's a lake and all but...yeah!! There's nothing to do in a desert and nothing to do here...but wait, there is!! Wait..that's not the same...URGH!! I give up!! Good Night!!" Lavanya stopped her banter looking at Khushi's confused face and stomped away to her bed for a beauty sleep. Khushi sighed and let out a chuckle...they were crazy!!

While walking to her bed, Khushi looked around the huge room. It was quite big but not so lavish...off course, it was a guesthouse in the middle of nowhere!! There were three single beds in the middle, separated by two side tables, then there was a window on the side wall, giving an overlook of the lake and the forest and there was an old wooden closet in the room.

After taking a look, Khushi turned back and walked up to the last adjacent bed and occupied it.

*pop*...*pop*...Khushi stirred in her sleep...*pop* *pop*...Khushi sat up with irritation and pushed her hair back which were covering her face. *pop* *pop*, Khushi looked around in confusion to locate where the sound was coming from? After having a good look around and finding nothing, Khushi got up and slowly walked towards the single window. She gently caught hold of the swaying thin sheet of the curtain and tucked it under the railing on the top. Khushi peeped her head out of the window but she couldn't see anything...giving up, Khushi started walking back when something caught her attention. She squeezed her eyes to get a clear way, it was really dark outside now, Khushi pushed herself a little more out of the window and she could now make out bubbles popping on the surface of the otherwise calm lake. Khushi scrunched her eyes in confusion...what was that? It was as if someone was breathing under the surface. That was weird!!

Khushi moved forward to get a better view; she was now totally pressed against the wall under the window. Then she saw another shocking thing...the caretaker was standing near the lake, facing it and it looked like he was talking to someone or something.

Her mind was fighting between going down there and checking what was happening and just staying here. Finally, Khushi hurriedly put a sweater on her shirt, grabbed her cell phone and walked down towards the stair case. While stepping down the stairs, Khushi typed up Lavanya's number on her phone just in case she needed it later.

Khushi clutched the sweater over her front as she stepped into the corridor outside the house to stop the cold wind from giving her a cold. She looked around to locate the caretaker again and sure enough she saw him standing in the same place, however, now she could hear him whispering something to the lake...well, at least that's what it looked like.

She walked further; her heart was accelerating with every step she took. Something inside her was telling her to return back to the house but she couldn't help her steps and kept on walking. The wind started howling, as if warning her but she ignored it. Khushi stopped right behind the caretaker. She had found him weird from the time they had met him. Not knowing what else to do she hesitantly called out.

"Umm...excuse me.." Khushi tumbled back a few steps with her heart ready to jump out of her rib cage. He turned in a quick moment had turned around and was now staring at her with a grave expression and...his eyes were glowing red. He dropped the shawl which was wrapped around him, only to reveal a sharp piece of metal poking out from a side of his back...Khushi was now hyperventilating; her voice seemed to have frozen in her throat...

I actually dont knoe wat sound bubbles make wen dey pop so I jus wrote pop..lol...hope it was easy to understand what I was on about..
