Chapter 3
Getting scared, Khushi started running back to the room when she clashed into something right behind her...
Khushi looked down to see a woman falling to the floor cuz of the force of the hit. Her hair was covering her face as she looked down to rub her injured elbow. Khushi quickly kneeled down on the floor to inspect the injury and the woman.
"Ohh, I'm so sorry, I actually didn't see you so…I'm sorry" Khushi apologized, giving out a hand to help the woman up.
"Oh, it's okay. Actually it's kinda my fault as well, I should have looked" Kate smiled at Khushi as she took her hand to help herself up.
"So, what are you doing here so late?" Questioned Khushi, curious to know why someone would go around this house at night, alone. Was everybody so thirsty?
"Oh, actually I was just looking for Jake. When, I woke up, I didn't find him in the room or the bathroom so just thought of checking in the living room and kitchen" replied Kate. By now Khushi and Kate were walking down the stairs together.
"Oh well, I can help you look for him and we can go to the kitchen in between as well, actually, I'm kinda thirsty soo…" Khushi finished a little hesitantly.
"Yeah sure, Why not? I mean, I definitely don't wanna roam around a supposedly haunted mansion alone" Both the ladies laughed at that.
"Same" Khushi agreed and they both walked up to the kitchen.

Outside the mansion, the weather wasn't exactly very friendly. It was raining cats and dogs, the thunder was lightening up the whole sky and scaring away any living being around. The strong winds were crashing the trees to earth and blowing away all the chances of a peaceful night. The sky was darker than usual today.
Behind the metal gates of the mansion stood a blooded body with hair covering her face, her feet were off the ground and she was staring at the thick vines fly off the ground and wrap themselves around the metal gate, making it impossible for someone to open.

Khushi put the glass away after drinking the water and turned to look at an impatient and worried Kate who was tapping her feet against the ground, continuously. Khushi walked up to Kate and hesitatingly put a hand on her shoulder before squeezing it reassuringly.
"It's okay, we'll find Jake. He must be somewhere around here" Khushi smiled at Kate reassuringly. Khushi could relate herself to Kate, if Arnav ever went missing in a place like this, she would surely go crazy with worry.
"Thanks Khushi but I dunno, I'm getting a negative vibe from this place. I don't like it at all. I even suggest you to move out of here as soon as possible, maybe even tomorrow" Kate's face had displeasure, worry, impatience, disturbance and panic written all over it.
"Yeah, that's kinda true; even I wasn't feeling so good here. I was just rushing to my room when I bumped into you" Khushi agreed. Suddenly, staying here wasn't very exciting as it seemed in the start.
"Anyway, let's go now" Just as they were about to walk outta the kitchen, Khushi spotted some dark, red liquid dropping from the refrigerator to the floor and now there was a clear puddle of it right under the refrigerator.
"Wait!" Exclaimed Khushi, halting Kate's steps.
"What happened?" Questioned Kate at this abrupt stop.
Khushi took slow and steady steps towards the refrigerator, her mind was battling between going towards the liquid and inspecting it or just running away from this place and to her husband's safe embrace. However, being the brave woman Khushi is, she walked towards it, her face totally betraying her inner horror. She was closely followed by Kate who had by now seen the pool of liquid forming under the refrigerator.
"Wh… wha…whattt is… that??" Stammered Kate
"Let's check" Replied Khushi, not really wanting to but just doing it for the sake of it.
"I think, we should just leave" Kate grabbed Khushi's hand to pull her away with herself but Khushi being Khushi didn't budge from her place.
"We have to, Kate" Khushi gently loosened Kate's hold on her hand and reached out to grab the handle of the refrigerator before they heard the kitchen door banging SHUT!!! The lights started flickering as well. Kate and Khushi looked at the door and then the lights in horror. WHAT THE HELL WAS HAPPENING?!?!?!?
Khushi grabbed Kate's hand and just ran from the door when a headless body, dipped in red blood fell right from the top and on the two woman, taking them down with it.
"AAAHHH!!!!" They both screamed in union, scared out of their wits. Kate got up first pushing the body away from them, not caring who's it was and helped Khushi up. Their clothes were now smeared in blood too. The cabinets started their own dance of opening and closing. Khushi wipped her head around the kitchen wildly before running towards the door, with Kate right next to her.
Khushi pulled the handle harshly but the foor didn't open. Kate and Khushi both tried together but it still wouldn't budge. They were trapped…

Arnav stirred in his sleep, before getting up and stretching his arms. He looked around the room and was amazed to find Khushi next to him in the bed, wearing a torn white dress and facing the other way.
Was she mad at him? Did he tear her dress? Why was she facing that way? As much as he could remember, Khushi didn't have a white dress but oh well, she must have bought it without telling him. Its not like she had to tell him about everything she bought. Chuckling at that, Arnav reached out for her shoulder so he could face her to himself…
