Amazing is the word...no words..this one has to b the best chapter so far..!!!
I must admit I was in trance..each word each line reflected emotions of love n separation..!!
Ah each paragraph I read I was reminded of one or other verse
First the flashback when rosy is reminded of their past...the longing for him increased...his memories bought a smile on her face...the creases disappeared n she seemed somewhat relaxed to karan...yet am reminded of Faiz's poem...
At night my lost memory of you

the way she remembered his touch n the way she realized that it was the touch she was missing
then the heart breaking part where she came out of that sweet trance...for some time she felt it to b true even after coming out of the reverie...I read this part I don't know how many times again n again...!!!!

Chapter 26

The familiar stench of alcohol, expensive perfumes and the warmth inside the closed room suffocated her and now that her work for the night was done as well, Suzanne slowly tiptoed out of the door, balancing her tipsy self carefully.

The alcohol always took a toll on her, no matter how hard she tried to supress the urge to drown in it. She groaned angrily when a bunch of college going boys whistled at her and began walking towards the car park.

To her ill luck, the distance seemed longer than usual and she had to drag her aching feet mustering all energy left in her. Just then, out of nowhere a car honked behind her forcing her to step aside.
But in the haste, Suzy forgot that she had high heels strapped on and slipped to her side losing her balance. Anticipating a hard fall, she clutched at the first thing she could lay her hands on and to her surprise, it was a warm palm that held her firmly.

Arjun had snapped out of his thoughts a little while ago and was waiting for an update from Shree and Lisa when he saw a car move towards her. The young woman was obviously sloshed and acting on instinct, Arjun rushed in her direction. He gripped her outstretched hand and pulled her up before she could hit the ground.

Suzy clutched at his arms and leaned against the stranger. She noticed his deep black eyes narrowed with concern met hers.

The alcohol flowing in her bloodstream affected her senses and she smiled at him cheekily, "Oh my knight in shining armour.. Here you are.."

Arjun crinkled his brow in confusion and was thoroughly amused by the young lady's endearment. He looked around and saw a few men eye her hungrily.

Sensing trouble, he pulled her up on her feet and held her close, "Yes, my beautiful princess."

Suzy tilted her head and looked at him through droopy lashes.. He was indeed handsome.

She noticed his gaze wander to a few men around and rolled her eyes. Men..

But something in his dark brown eyes told her that he wasn't one of them. She held out her hand to him, "Pleased to meet you, my black knight?"

Arjun took her hand, a bit hesitantly and held it in his.

Suzy smiled and led him to a bench across the road.
Arjun offered her his jacket and she covered her bare legs modestly.
Suzy watched him check the time on his watch every few seconds and tapped his arm, "Why weren't you inside?"

Arjun made a mental note of reprimanding Shree and Lisa for their callousness later and turned to look at her, "I hate the loud music and crowd."

She flashed a toothy smile and shook her head, "New to Goa?" Arjun nodded and turned his attention to her.
"I'm a photographer and I need some beautiful faces for my next assignment. Suna hai bohot khoobsurat ladkiyan aati hain yahan.. And so I'm in the right place."

Suzy chuckled and laughed heartily, "Aha.. Then you have to be at the Masquerade Ball.. I'm sure you'll find many more beautiful faces there."

Arjun's head shot up at the mention of the Ball..

Shree too had mentioned it a day ago and all he knew was that it was being hosted by an influential and wealthy businessman. He figured she would be attending it since she seemed like one of those famous people on the social circuit.

Suzy noticed the crinkles on his forehead and assumed he was bothered about not being informed of it before. She stood up balancing herself with great difficulty and waved at him.

Arjun, however had made up his mind. He was going to discuss about attending the said Ball in question with the team since many of Goa's wealthiest and influential men and women would be present there. The venue was just perfect for a head-start.

He stood before her blocking her path and crossed his arms over his chest, "Would you like to go to the Ball with me?"

Suzanne grinned and rolled her tongue in her cheek, "I'm sorry.. I already have a date for the night."

She paused and took out two passes from her clutch and held it out to him,
"Here you go. Two passes for two couples. I'm sure my black knight won't have to bother too much for a company."

He took the passes from her and shrugged his shoulders callously as she turned to walk away from him.
Just then realising something, he looked at her, "Hey Princess.."

She turned back questioning him with her eyes.
Arjun raised a brow and breathed sharply, "How will I know it's you at the Ball?"

Suzanne's eyes widened and gleamed with a hint of surprise.
She threw her hair back and looked at him over her shoulder, "Look out for the Black Swan, my Black knight.. Ciao!"

Arjun watched on amusingly as she hopped her way to the car and drove away not before waving at him.
He walked back to the night club tapping the invites on his palm.. He had to discuss the next plan of action with Rathore and the rest of the team.

The soft sea breeze made a few loose strands of hair fly to her face playfully and a slight smile graced his lips. Unaware of it, she tucked it behind her ear and breathed in the misty air.

Shree almost yelped out in pain on feeling the heel of Lisa's boots on his toe but stopped his shriek when he followed her gaze.
Their senior officers leaning against the ledge was a sight to watch. Sameer and Ayesha had been chatting away over a cup of coffee oblivious to everyone's presence.

Just then a file landed on the garden table with a thump and everyone looked back to find Arjun rolling his sleeves. They exchanged a quick look and gathered around the table.
"Shree, Lisa, what's the status? And yes, please keep out the personal stuff.. Samjhe ya Samjhaun?"

Shree gulped nervously and glared at Lisa before he began narrating their findings.
