A happy anniversary NB! At the outset, interestingly just finished catching up and reading the epilogue or last chapter today. Loved this story, though as a married woman of more than 17 years, I have to tell you that I don't agree in principle to many of those points made in the story...don't get me wrong here, I simply love how you write, you have real talent girl and that is something to nurture...your characters are living, breathing and human...that sets this whole work apart and puts it in that rarified strata of a blockbuster fan fiction on our favourite India TV serial of all time...
Having said that, I feel, and this is purely personal opinion, so don't get frazzled, ok? I feel Khushi needed to cut Arnav some flak throughout...the poor man was trying and hard to work things out and make things ok between them, but she was getting on her high horse and being jealous and possessive at the mere mention of Lavanya's name, something a mature girl like her was not expected to do, perhaps? I also feel that Ll marriage, love, arranged or whatever is about compromise, to a large degree, so the give-and-take needs to be on both sides, of course it also happens that sometime one partner gives more and the other takes more...but ah, such is life, don't you think? For Arnav's character in this story, one thing comes to mind...too much of a doormat personality perhaps? Not quite our feared and indomitable Arnav Singh Raizada from the show, yes he showed backbone in moving out of the family home etc. to prove he could eke out a living and making a success of himself on his own right, rather than riding piggyback on the Raizada family name and fortune. However, what happened to the same spirit when it came to interacting with his wife, and standing up for things he firmly believed in? What was so wrong with maintaining a relationship with an ex-girlfriend? This is the 21st century...what the?! Also, final gripe, promise! Why does Khushi have to win every time? Marriage at the end of the day should be a relationship of equals, and yes, like I said, do we have to take a " shoot Raizada down" stance every time...yes, I know Khushi's redemption is something we have all striven for since the start of the IPKKND days, but is real life and the reality of this life, far removed from this stance? Life and relationships, and indeed marriage, thrive best in an environment of respect...not one-upmanship...or indeed one-upwomanship( pun intended!)
Now, onto the great things about the story...characters more or less spun on their heads...apart from the main leads...a more spirited Akash, yes we could have definitely used him more in IPKKND...a stronger and more supportive Payal, who despite her falling out with Khushi is still there in times of crisis, a not-so-convivial Anjali and Nani...amazing...great work with storyline and seamless story movement...all in all, enjoyed it. Please give us more!!
Best,
Anupama
