FACING BRUTALITY - PART 2 - CHAPTER 27

*Arnav and Khushis meeting*

"So now that you have kidnapped me from your design room where are you planning on taking me Mr. Raizada. Can it be somewhere near I don't want to walk much since you decided to go all fuel efficient on me."

"Relax love, you ask too many questions. But let me warn you its nothing too fancy, just a small cozy dinner place where we could talk without being disturbed"

"I like nice and cozy but you sure I could trust you"

"hehe that's for you to decide Miss. Gupta"

"And what if I say I don't trust you with me"

"why would you say that?"

"well.. you happen to not keep your hands off of me Mr. Raizada."

"I thought you liked it"

"excuse me, your not doing me a favor by touching me. You know I can go all feminist on you on this issue so lets not argue over it".

"Fair enough but last time I checked im only holding your hand Khushi not hogging you down"

"Fair enough but last time I checked you are very much capable of doing that too."

To any onlooker on the road they would seem like two adults who have no care in the world and are enjoying their evening with a simple walk and later dinner. But who knew it was the calm before the storm.

After getting settled in the cozy caf Arnav and Khushi involved themselves in a casual chat. From talking about childhood to college to higher achievements, they discussed everything and what was a early dinner became a late dinner since none noticed how time passed so fast. Khushi did notice that Arnav did not mention his mother but a lot was said about his sister Anjali and she developed an instant liking towards this calm lady. She herself never had any sibling other than her friend Payal and its not that she is complaining but having a sibling at home is always fun. She even tried bringing up the actual topic as to what her life is all about but Arnav had dodged all questions skillfully not letting her know much and now she was getting agitated because she wanted the truth and that too fast.

After the dinner Arnav took her for a walk near River Thames. Apart from the lights surrounding the river and the moonlight the rest of the city had fallen asleep, after all it was past midnight.

"time passed so quickly, I cant imagine I actually forgot about food. ME and FOOD are like LENNY and SQUIGGY." The surprise in Ms Guptas eyes was worth watching.

"you have watched Laverne & Shirley?"

"who hasn't Arnav, it was one of the firsts in American television. The happy days!"

Khushi now stood facing Arnav, they were at a deserted road with very few people, a couple or two maybe. She approached Arnav in the most softest of manner and held both of his hands in her own. Again she could not believe she was being so gentle but she did think Arnav was fragile as much as he portrayed to be strong, she had seen the fragility in him.

"I know khu-shii, not now" it was more of a request but the lady infront of him was on a mission. For her it was now or never.

"I want to know, NOW, please!" she tightened her hold on his hands just the way he liked it, just the way he held her at the airport. They sat on the bench near by and while Khushi was looking at Arnav, he was deep in thought, thinking how much to tell and how much to hide.

"I want to know EVERYTHING" She said as if she had read the question in Arnavs mind.

"it all started years ago when your dad and mine were bestfriends but they were not the only ones they had another best friend; Rodger. In the beginning of their career after graduation they planned on working together and establishing their hotel chain. They were perfect together khu-shi, the 3 amigos as my dad likes to put it but later uncle Gupta and my dad discovered Rodger was working illegally with the underworld and was using wrong means to grow in business. Our fathers didn't want that so they confronted Rodger with proof and asked him to step down from his position or break his ties for the underworld. He betrayed our fathers by lying to them and later putting their lives in danger. In anger your father and Rodger had a fight which destroyed the ever strong bond of the 3 amigos. It took Rodger 10 years to built his own empire in the underworld and he became well known as a mafia. 10 years ago he returned to destroy our lives, he'h..he kkilled your father."

Khushi was already in tears, she couldn't believe her dad was murdered.

"but it was an accident Arnav"

"I know that's what they said, I had my people search into it. It was a planned accident khu-shi. He was coming after you but suddenly disappeared. I have no idea how our marriage contract came into being but this is all I know for now".

"And' what was that you said to me the other night, about someone bbett'betting on .. mmeee"

She was stammering, this truth of her life she knew would either make or break her.

"KHU-SHI! I.."

She cupped his face and said in the most vulnerable voice ever "please" .

"the reason behind our marriage is to protect you, so u stay in the family and we stay close. One of Rodgers conglomerates are women trafficking and betting on them. Since the past 10 years he has made people bet on you khushi, you are his priced possession".

Khushi couldn't believe her ears, how can a man stoop so LOW.

She felt disgusted, watched, vulnerable and most of all dangerous.

She KHUSHI KUMARI GUPTA was dangerous for ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA and his happy life.

The walk back home had a tangible silence throughout, enough to pierce it with a knife. All Arnav knew was that he wanted a reaction out of Khushi but she wasn't giving any so he decided to give her time.

*back in payals room*

"I am dangerous for him peeg, im so sure his life is in danger because of ME. I cannot stay here anymore, I NEED to leave. For him. I will le-"

"Khu-shi"

Before she could even complete her sentence the man standing at the door stopped her, having heard the entire conversation and knowing her decision he now knew why she chose to remain silent.

So here it is!! khushi finally knows the truth, i know shyam was supposed to come but i couldnt write a proper entry for him. Next update will be on Shyam for all the shyamu lovers 😛.

will arnav be able to stop her?

what if she runs away and finds shyam?

i know this was a small update but it was quicker.. so no complaining 😆
