Taani bites her tongue and squeezes her eyes shut, turning around. She opens her eyes and sees a very tall, muscular, attractive boy standing there. "Reyaansh?" Swayam asks. "Yeah" Rey says with no emotions.

"Great, Sorry we're late. Actually mumbai's traffic is just horrible. Anyways I'm Swayam and this is my little sister Taani." Swayam says trying to make conversation. "Hey Swayam, Hi Taani" Rey replies with a smirk. His eyes were dark and mischievous. "Hi" Taani looks the other way to avoid any further conversation.

"Okay, well let's go" Swayam says and without waiting for a reply, he picks up one of Rey's bags and walks towards the car. "Pick up my bag" Taani looks up in shock. "Excuse me?" She asks.

"I said, pick up my bag" Rey says looking bored. "What if I don't?" Taani smirks. "I'll tell your dad and then daddy's little girl will get in trouble and we don't want that, do we?" Taani's smirk disappears and gets replaced by a scowl.

She drags her feet towards Rey's luggage but when she tries to pick it up, she can't since it was too heavy. After multiple tries, someone hits Taani's shoulder, causing her to stumble back. Rey quickly grabs her waist to stop her from falling. Taani squeezes her eye shut in fear, but when she realizes she had not fallen, she opens her eyes to see an amused looking Rey.

"Leave me" Taani says in anger. Rey smirks and lets go of her, causing her to fall to the ground. Rey then turns around, picks up his suitcase and walks away. Taani sits on the floor, surprised for a second. "What the hell?" She thinks. She gets up and stomps away in the same direction as Swayam and Rey.

When she gets to the car, she turns Rey around by his shoulder and points her finger at his chest. "Don't you dare, ever touch me again. You're a disgusting person. " She says almost burning with anger. Rey's smirk gets replaced with a dangerous smile. Taani gulps her saliva realizing that shouting at him probably wasn't her best idea.

"Babe, you don't even know how disgusting I can get. So don't test me." Rey grabs Taani's finger and pushes her back a little.

"Okay, guys, I put in the luggage." Swayam says coming from behind the car, clueless to what had just happened two seconds ago. "Cool" Rey lazily walks over to the car and gets inside. Taani follows him into the car, promising herself she would stay away from him.

When they get home, they are greeted by Mr. Shekhawat, who was just leaving for a business meeting. "Hi Reyaansh" Mr. Shekhawat says warmly. "Hi" Rey replies coldly.

Mr.Shekhawat decided he would sit down with Rey for a few minutes before going. Everyone proceeded to the sofas and sat down. An awkward silence took place. In attempt to break the silence, Mr. Shekhawat decided to speak to Rey.

"So, Reyaansh, are you excited to be in india?" Mr. Shekhawat says with a bright smile that resembled Taani's. "It's Rey." Rey says without even bothering to look up from his phone.

"Ok, well Rey are you excited to be in india?" Mr.Shekhawat asks again.

"No"

"Well, are you excited for college?"

"No" Rey replies impassively.

"Oh, well would you like to get a tour of India?" Rey looks up and gives Mr.Shekawat a 'did-you-really-just-ask-that-you-idiot' look. Anger burns in Taani's throat.

"No" The annoyance in Rey's voice was more than obvious and only pissed Taani off more.

"You know, you could be a little more respectful towards to him" Taani spits, without even looking at Rey. Rey turns and looks at Taani, an eyebrow raised. The angry scowl and threatening look once again on his face.

"Excuse me?"

"I'm sure you're not deaf but if you didn't hear me, I said you could be a little bit more respectful to him. I mean, he's giving you a place to stay so you can finish up college. Hell, without him, you wouldn't even be able to come to India"

"I wouldn't have to come to India, if my parents hadn't been so stupid." His voice was as cold as ice and Taani could feel the hatred radiating off his words.

"If you hadn't been so reckless and dumb, they wouldn't have had to send you to India." Taani growls, looking up to look him dead straight in the eyes.

"Listen-"Rey starts speaking again, but Taani isn't finished.

"I can't believe you have the nerve to sit in our house and act this way, with the only person willing to help you. You're disgusting, maybe that's the reason your parents didn't want to keep you and sent you here so we could go through hell. My dad has been nothing but nice to you and you're sitting here on your ungrateful ass, acting as if he was kicking you onto the streets. He's the one who made it possible for you to come to India" Taani shouts as Rey's eyes darken.

"Who said I wanted to come to India anyways? Listen, you don't know anything about me, or what I've been through. You think living with me is hell? You don't even know what hell is. You can pretend like you're all high and mighty, but you're just a spoiled, good for nothing, worthless little girl. You don't know what life is like through my eyes. You don't know what it's like to not be able to do anything your own way. You don't what it's like to be criticized for everything you do. You don't know what it's like to work your butt off every day just to get the attention of the people, who never give it to you. You don't know what it's like to be me." There is so much venom in Rey's voice that everything else Taani wanted to say disappears from her mind. Rey gets up from his chair and storms out the front door.

Swayam, Taani and Mr.Shekhawat watch him as he leaves, then he turns back to look at Taani. She looks him right in eyes.

"That was completely uncalled for" Mr. Shekhawat says glaring at Taani. Taani shrugs feeling a little bad but gets up and walks to her room. After a few hours, Mr. Shekhawat had left and Rey had come back home.

Taani walks out of her room, to go get some water from downstairs. On her way to the kitchen, she bumps into a hard chest. "Oof," Taani mumbles, stumbling backwards. She looks up to see Rey standing there with the same expression as earlier, dangerous mixed with anger. Rey's eyes are narrowed, his brow furrowed, and his arms are crossed over his chest. There is barely any space between them, and in this close proximity, Taani sees just how attractive Rey is with his flexing arm muscles and chocolate brown eyes. Taani realizes she's staring, and quickly looks away embarrassed.

"Excuse me," Taani tries to say bitterly but instead the words come out soft.

"I don't need your sympathy" he snaps. Taani whips her head up and stares at him shocked. Suddenly, all the kindness is wiped away.

"Trust me, I don't pity you. You deserve everything you got." The words come out of Taani's mouth before she can stop them and she sees fury flash in Rey's eyes, once again warning her of her mistake.

"I-I'm sorry. That came out wrong." Taani stutters, but it's too late. Rey spins around and storms up the stairs to his room, which to Taani's luck (sarcasm) was right across from hers.

Taani shakes her head and puts her hand on it.
