Chapter 18
Rey stormed inside his room, he threw his bag on the floor. Divorce! How could she even think of it. Even after her and her bro Shyam cheating and breaking Anjali di's heart Rey never even in his wildest dream thought of a split like this. But she thought of it. He was finding it difficult to even breathe.He covered is face as he knew he would burst out anytime.
Anjali di walked inside his room with his clothes. Unaware of what happened she started talking t him,
Anj : Rey apko pata hai, aaj Nani ji ne apka fav Butter chicken banaya hai . Wo bhi itna saara makhan dala hai. (giggling) Aaj Chotey aur Naniji k beech mein butter ko leke bohot behas hone wali hai.
Rey just sat on his bed covering his face, he could hear what Anjali di was saying but didn't understand a word. Anjali sensed there's something wrong.
Anj: Kya hua Rey? Aap (worried,she sat next to him and brushes his hair)Ap thik toh hai na?
Rey: (struggling to breathe) Wo kaise...aise keh diya...(questioning Anjali)Aise hi keh diya usne ah?? Kapde badal diya, toh ab use lagta hai ki wo kuch bhi badal sakti hai, Move on karna chahti hai, Par aise kaise soch sakti hai wo ki mujse..mujse... (looks at Anjali di) Main kya itna bura hu di? Koi mere saath nai rehna chahta. Pehle mom and dad aur ab..(he covers his face again)
Anj: Par hua kya Rey?
Rey: (shredding tears) Taani...(takes a deep breath) wo mujse divorce chahti hai.
Khushi : Kyaaa!!!!!
Rey and Anjali were startled with Khushi's screeching tone. Anjali was surprised, she couldn't believe it was Taani whom Rey was talking about.
Khushi: Rey hum apki baatein sunne k liye maafi mangte hai .
Anj: (worried) Par Taani aise kyu kahegi Rey? achanak se ab wo.. hume Taani se baat karni hogi.
Khushi: (Upset) Nahi Anjali di! Yeh sab Rey ki wajah se hi ho raha hai. Tani ne bar bar inse maafi mangni ki koshish ki par har baar yeh unhe halat ka zimedar mante raha. Ab yaha itne dukhi hai, Taani roz aise hi rehti thi. Jab Taani apke paas thi tab apko uski ehmiyat nai pata chali. Ab zaroor pata chalega.
Anj: rey, humare saath jo hua usme Taani ki koi galati nahi hai. Unhe dosh dena bandh karo. Shyam unke bhai the, par Taani unke jaise nahi hai. Wo alag hai. Ye baa tap bhi jante hai. To phir kyu Rey? Kyu unhe zimmedar mante hai ap?
Rey just looked at Khushi, she was right. He did push her away a lot of times. He began to think of each time she walked up to him and he drove her away. He finally admitted that it was he who was responsible for what was happening. And then he understood that blaming Taani for being SHyam's sister was not the right thing.
Rey: You're right. Its all my fault. (to Khushi) sab meri galti hai. And now I'm going to fix this. Main Taani wapus launga, mere saath.
Khushi and Anjali smiled at him. Rey made up his mind, he had enough of all of this. Now he seemed determined. He got his family back. Now it was time for Taani to get back home.
Scene Shift
Taani's apartment
This was the fourth time Jim Raynor was about to lose his battle. Taani tried very hard to kill everyone around but somehow she couldn't clear this level. She was weeping as she played on her Xbox. She wiped her tears with one hand and kept clicking the shoot button with the other. Trying hard to pretend everything that happened didn't make a difference to her, she took a deep breathe but then within seconds Jim Raynor was again killed.
She kept the joystick, laid her head on the couch and closed her eyes. The silence in the apartment was forcing her to think what happned between her and Rey. She tried to ignore everything and think of her Xbox and games. Suddenly she was disturbed with the beep on her phone.
"Hey Taani, It's me Vicky. There's a Grand Opening of Crystal clubs tonight!!Live band and DJ as well. It will be great fun! Sabhi jaa rahe hai. You join us too. It will be fun!! Vicky promise *wink wink*"
A smile creeped on Taani's face. She wiped her tears as she took a deep breath. Definetly she didn't want to stay in here anymore. She was about to get up from her couch when she heard the door bell ring.
"Vicky" she thought as she walked to open the door. She found it really sweet that Vicky was trying to cheer her up. With a huge smile she opened the door.But her smile didn't last long as she found Rey standing right infront of her, he eyes fell on the luggage next to him, she realized he was about to say something when she took a deep breath in and before he could utter a word,slammed the door. She didnt want to speak to him. Resting her head on the door she kept wondering, Why was he here?
Rey standing outside wasn't surprised but was not expecting this either. He had faced worse things from her before! Duh! She bombarded him with the news of divorce. This slamming the door act' was nothing compared to that. He looked at his luggage and quickly turned around to see if anyone saw what just happened, He brushed his hair with relief as no-one was around.

Scene Shift
Raizada mansion.
Khushi walked back and forth worried and nervous. How was she supposed to tell Arnav that Rey went near Taani, Will he yell at her for not stopping him? Rey just got back home and now he left again. Rolling her duppata's end she sat on her bed.
Khu: Hey Devi maiya, ab hum iss laad governor se kya kahenge! Wo toh humari ek baat nai manege!!
She gulped as she realized Arnav just walked in talking to someone over the phone. As soon as he notice Khushi, smiling at him, he realized that there's something fishy going around.
Arn: Ab kya kia tumne?
Khu: (nervous) Humne? (nodding her head) Wo Rey ...
Khushi narrated the whole story to Arnav. She was expecting him to burst at her, but to her surprise he was calm.
Arn: Tum ladkiyo ke paas brains nahi hai toh itna sochti kyu ho? Everyone knows ki Taani Rey ko divorce nahi degi.(shuffling the pages of his file) Phir bhi itna drama. Tumare saath rehkar uska bhi dimag kharab hua hai.
Khushi opened her mouth to say something, but then changed her expression,
Khu: Arnavji, kya apne kabhi aisa socha?
Arn: Kya socha?
Khu: Talak? Humare saath talak ka..
She stopped abruptly as Arnav gazed at her, he looked at her as if she asked him something that she wasn't allowed to.
Anr: Aise bakwas se ideas tum ladkiyo ke dimag me hi aa sakte hai. Mere paas time nahi hai yeh sab sochke apna time waste karne ke liye.
Arnav didn't complete his sentence but Khushi had a great smile on her face.
Khu: Aapne kabhi aisa nai socha iska matlab yeh hi hua na ki aap chahte the ki hum ek saath ho?
There was silence. Khushi's expressive eyes were staring at Arnav, for once she wanted to hear that Arnav wanted and still wants her. Arnav didn't know how to say the truth. He kept blinking for few minutes and then switched back to his files. Khushi stepped ahead.
Khu: Kahiye na Arnavji. Aap chahte the na ki hum wapus aye? (She pulled his file, aggravated Arnav stares at her) Aapko chaiye tha ki hum yaha wapus aye. Toh phir apne kabhi humse kaha kyu nahi? Arnavji ap humse kuch bhi keh sakte hai, apko humse kuch bhi chupane ki zaroorat nahi hai. Hum apko samajte hai.
Arn: Samajti ho?? Tum muje samajti ho toh phir kabhi mujse ghar wapus ani ki baat kyu nai ki? Kabhi mujse ye kyu nai pucha ki How am I without you. Yeh kabhi nai pucha ki main tume kitna yaad karta hu? Roz utke main yahi sochta tha ki kaash ye sab ek freaking dream hota and then everything would be alright. But nahi, Tum ghar chodke gai and then main kitna akela tha ye pata hai tume? Main kisse apne mann ki baat karta! Anjali di ko rote dekh meri halat kharab hota tab main kiske paas jake apna dard share karta?
He paused as he was running out of breath, it was the first time he admitted that he missed her all the way. Khushi was breathing heavily as she realized she thought it all wrong that he never missed her. She moved closer to him controlling her tears. Smiling with tears in her eyes she looked into his eyes.She smiled at him as her tears fell on her cheeks, without wasting a second she hugged him. Arnav had slight tears in his eyes too. He responded back to the hug and moved his hand on her hair.
After breaking the hug, Arnav cupped her face,
" Tumse door jo maine time spend kia hai were the worse days of my life."
Khushi smiled and again rested her head on his shoulders feeling happy that she got her lost life back!
