Chapter 3

'I said Sorry...What more do you want me to say or do..Do you want me to beg.' Khushi kept looking at Arnav who was driving. 'Yeah that does sound nice', Arnav smirked. 'Yeah keep dreaming player...So where are we headed exactly..Home!', Khushi asked hopefully. Thinking that atlast he will let her go home and sleep the rest of the day. As one can tell Khushi definitively is not a morning, afternoon or evening person.

'Eh no..We as in You and Me are going to the mall', tapping on the steering wheel as the car stopped due to a red light. 'Oh God No NO! N-O.' khushi groaned.'Hey a simple no would have done it', Arnav chuckled, showing off his perfect thirty-two pearl white teeth. Show Off! 'Why what's wrong with my clothes', she pointed towards her clothes. 'Wrong Question what's not wrong with them' Arnav raised his eyebrow suggestively. 'We're here..come let's go', Arnav practically throw khushi over his shoulders since she wouldn't budge. People threw weird faces towards these two. Oh well.

'Why are we even shopping, Mr.Player', khushi groaned as they entered another store. 'You are one stranger girl, huh. Most girls will be jumping at any opportunity to bankrupt a guy's bank balance. And to answer your question, there's a party on Friday and you are going to attend it. And definitely are not going to go to senior party dressed like that ', Arnav explained as he picked out more dresses for khushi and threw it on her.

Khushi still had to figure out why was a guy like Arnav helping out a girl like her. What was really going on in his sneaky little mind. If Arnav really wanted a tutor he has the money to hire not one but thousands of them on the spot. Why was he so persistent on helping her get back at Shane? There was definitely a catch to this 'Project popular'

'Are we done yet', Khushi groaned. She sat back on the chair in the food court of the mall, as she pressed on the back of her neck to stop it from aching. Like that helps. 'Gosh Gupta, take a chill pill once in a while', Arnav muttered. 'Oh you're not the one to be dragged in almost every store in this Mall. FYI this mall is pretty darn big. And Oh don't get me started on how many cocktail dresses you made me try on'.

'Feisty', Arnav teased. 'Just eat the food, woman', Arnav suddenly got off his chair and made his way to the line of the food court. Khushi was sipping on her pink lemonade when she turned her gaze towards the line, she wasn't surprised. Typical player. Arnav was flirting with the cashier. Khushi quickly turned away. She wasn't jealous. Why she be jealous in the first place? She must be just annoyed at typical Arnav. Yeah that's what it is. Annoyance or it was what she wanted to think.

Arnav quickly stuffed a piece a paper down his jean pocket as he made his way back to the table. 'Had fun'. An irked khushi asked. 'Do I smell smoke', he chuckled. Khushi ignored his remark. 'Ok let's go'

'Mom I am home!'. Exclaimed Khushi. She opened the door and walked in with all that bags of clothes Arnav forcibly made her take. Khushi quickly placed them in the closet and headed towards the kitchen as she heard her mom yell "In here, sweetie". Khushi's mom was pulling out freshly baked chocolate chip cookies out of the oven, when khushi went behind her and gave her an affectionate hug. 'Hi mom', Khushi said politely to her mother. Pulling out of the embrace. 'Hi sweetie had fun'

'Hmm..Mhhh..' Khushi responded putting a cookie in her mouth. Just when khushi was to head upstairs. She heard a familiar voice behind her. When she looked, Arnav was standing there. 'Hi Mrs.Gupta I am Arnav'. Arnav forwarded his hand in for a handshake. 'Mom this is Arnav he's my..', khushi was to continue but her mom cut her in and said, 'Oh Boy friend', she cheekily smiled. 'Mom!', Gasped khushi. Khushi cheeks turned crimson red hearing the statement her mom said. 'He's a friend Mother..A friend'

'Oh same thing dear, a boy who's a friend', her mother shrugged. Turning back to Arnav. 'Arnav dear would you like something to eat'. Khushi mother asked with a smile. 'I'll be right, and mother behave', khushi warned her mother. Arnav just chuckled seeing an embarrassed khushi. What a treat to see.

When Khushi changed her clothes and went downstairs to see both Arnav and her darling mother sitting on the sofa laughing together, while seeing a photo album. Oh no thought khushi she hoped it was not the same photo album of her embarrassing baby pictures. When she got closer, it was the same album with all her baby pictures. 'Mother', exclaimed khushi. Khushi sat down next to Arnav, trying to snatch the album away from his grip, but all went in vain. 'Aaaw khushi'weren't you the sweetest thing', Arnav sarcastically gushed over her pictures. Khushi nudged him hard in the rib with her elbow for his remark.

'Khushi', her mother warned her to behave. 'So Arnav Beta are you staying for dinner', she asked Arnav. Khushi interfered and replied for Arnav. 'No mom Arnav has places to be and people to see, right Arnav', Khushi masked a big grin and shot Arnav the YOU-BETTER-DECLINE-OR-ELSE look. 'Oh I wouldn't want to miss spending time with my favorite friend, now would I khushi', Arnav embraced khushi in a tight suffocating hug.

'Yay I feel special'. A suffocated khushi said sarcastically.
