Regarding Notification of Future Updates:
1. I prefer mailing the updates to my readers as it is much much easier. So in case you want to keep track of the updates, send an e-mail to my_worx@yahoo.com[or] PM me your e-mail ID
2. If you check your mail with extreme irregularity, send a Buddy Request to -DynamixPM- and NOT to Dynamix215. I will NOT BE ACCEPTING friend requests from this account.
3. I don't usually send links of the updates directly... I send the link of my index where you can see the latest updates. Therefore, if you need a PM and are ready to stalk my stories and index, you are more than welcome. In short, stalkers need not buddy me :)
Part 3 - ...that went too far
Arnav reluctantly took Myra to the dance floor wondering what in the world was taking Khushi so long. He saw Di and Jijaji dancing, and Di shooting wild glances at him. What was wrong? Couldn't she see the brilliance of his plan?!
Suddenly, NK's voice boomed as the spotlight fell on Payal and Akash. "The bride and bridegroom!"
Where in the world was Khushi! What was taking her so long?!
Again, the light fell on Di and Jijaji. "The sister and brother-in-law of the bridegroom!" Huh, why does Di look so horror-struck?!
Well, he knew it was his turn next, so wherever she was, she would see him. Just then he felt a familiar breeze that announced her arrival and at the sametime the spotlight fell on him and Myra and soon his brother's voice boomed. "The brother of the bridegroom and the sister of the bri- huh? I-I mean the brother of the bridegroom and his uh... um, g-girlfriend?"
GIRLFRIEND?! Couldn't NK have just said colleague?! God, there were media people in the room!
Arnav looked up to see NK staring at Arnav with shock and confusion from the top of the stairs. NK's eyes looked around searching for Khushi, he knew. And when he found her the mic went upto his mouth as he said "Aaanddd the sister of the bride!"
Arnav turned to look at Khushi with a smirk, but the smirk dropped off as soon as he saw her pale face and trembling body. She was almost heading out, he could tell and he turned to look at his sister who was looking at Khushi with the same horror-struck expression he had seen her wear moments back.
His eyes met Khushi's for a few seconds and there was not a trace of jealousy in them. Just immense hurt and before he could say/do anything else Khushi squeezed her eyes shut and walked out of the house.
Arnav looked at the way Myra and he were standing and a moment too late, realized what went wrong. Myra looked at Arnav anxiously. "I don't think it worked"
"You THINK?" he growled and let go of her.
He tried to push through the crowd of dancing couples and by the time he reached the gate, she was nowhere to be found. He walked up to Ramesh, the watchman. "Ramesh, where is Khushi?"
"Saahib she left just five minutes back in an auto..." Ramesh said, looking at his boss.
"Argh!" Arnav yelled and kick a potted plant nearby and stormed back inside.
The dance was over, and Anjali and Shyam were waiting for Chhote by the door. "Chhote, you know, you are a fool!" Anjali snapped, unable to believe her brother-with-the-shaatir-dimaag 's foolishness.
Any further conversation was interrupted by Payal, who came running to the trio followed by Akash. "Di! Wh-what happened to Khushi?" she asked anxiously. "I just got a text from her saying that she was going back home because she was sick and specifically told me to tell all of you to not call her for the night! She is all alone at home and-"
"Payal, relax! She can take care of herself!" Akash said, with a soothing hand on her shoulder.
"B-But she didn't even meet me! She was right there when Nanheji announced her as the bride's sister! What happened suddenly?" she fretted. She narrowed her eyes suddenly and turned to Arnav suspiciously. "Did you say something to her? Of course! You must have said something to her! She takes no one else's words so seriously! What did you say to her?!" Payal said, shaking a finger at Arnav.
"Payal, Bhai was dancing with Myra..." Akash reminded her.
Payal frowned. "Then what happened?"
Khushi threw herself onto her bed and cried.
What was she thinking?! Why did she even expect something from him! He himself had told her so many times that she didn't matter to him! That a low-class girl like her had no place in his life! Besides, if he liked THAT girl, who was she to come between them?
She stopped crying abruptly. Well, why should she hurt for someone who didn't care...? She wouldn't. But she couldn't deny that if she saw him often, she wouldn't be able to keep the hurt at bay... So Jiji's wedding was over wasn't it...? Well, she had made her choice and she would talk about it to Amma, Babuji and Buaji the next morning, she thought with firm resolve.
The reception was over. Arnav got a nice telling-off from Anjali, with bits and pieces from Shyam, reprimanding him for using stupid ways to get her to confess.
"But Di! I just wanted her to confess!" he complained.
"Saale Saab, girls don't confess. They expect guys too!" Shyam said pointedly, looking at Anjali who nodded in agreement.
"Well, to hell with their expectations!" Arnav said, annoyed that his plan backfired.
Anjali gasped. "See? This is your problem Chhote! Put aside that big fat male-ego you have and think properly! I know all men have it, but you seem to have it in a larger proportion!"
Ignoring the 'hey!' she got from Shyam, she continued. "Did you really think Khushiji would get jealous and claim you? Right now, she is probably thinking you like that Myra and that it is better she doesn't come between the two of you again!"
"Well, I agree with Rani Sahiba Saale Saab. If you expect her to confess first, she probably expects, or rather EXPECTED the same..." Shyam said.
"What do you mean 'EXPECTED'?" Arnav asked, puzzled.
"He means now she won't expect anything from you and probably thinks that you are in love with Myra... THINK Chhote. With your heart and not you brain for ONCE!"
With that Anjali and Shyam walked out.
Arnav fell back on the bed, agitated. Now that he thought about it, it was true. Maybe he should go to her house now? Yes. He got up and grabbed his keys and headed out of his room when he saw Anjali standing near the staircase.
She grimaced. "Of course! Going NOW are we? Chhote, her parents and Buaji are home. Are you crazy?! And you really think she will talk to you?"
Arnav sighed. Di was right. She wouldn't talk to him.
Next morning, Arnav ate his toast absent-mindedly while the rest of the family talked.
He sat up alertly when he heard Payal's voice. "What?! Why, Buaji?!"
He looked up to see Payal exiting the kitchen and heading towards the table with a casserole in her hand and her mobile pressed between her ears and shoulder.
She went around serving breakfast, giving a 'I-will-tell-you-later' look to the questioning glances of the family.
"But Buaji, what happened suddenly? Has she gone crazy?... She is really serious about it?..." Payal looked around at everybody and narrowed her eyes at Arnav once more. "N-No Buaji. Nothing happened AS FAR AS I know yesterday... Well, alright. I will talk to her. Ask her to call me when she gets back from the temple..."
She disconnected the phone and turned to her family. "Wo... Khushi is acting crazy all of a sudden."
"Hein? But she eej aalready Sanki..." Mamiji said.
"Maaji, crazy as in crazy for KHUSHI. She isn't talking much and neither eating much. Buaji said she made mountains of Jalebi last night an-and..." she trailed off.
"And what Payalji?" Anjali asked as Arnav waited with bated breath.
"She has been insisting since the minute Amma-Babuji woke up that she wants to go back to Lucknow!"
