PART 23

Nandkishore stepped out from an interview with a victorious smile as if he had conquered the whole world. It was his parent's long time wish that he gets settled with a job in MNC and as per their wishes and his little sister's prayers he got placed in a pretty big Multinational company for a comparatively decent salary. He was so anxious to inform this happy news to his parents who would be so eager to hear his voice after a long time like him. He felt proud that he has achieved something which would make his father's head held high as there was a belief by his father that his son NK would never come up in life. Those beliefs have been proved wrong. He didn't feel a bit that it was too early to conclude.

Khushi had given her exams with a pumped up confidence which was derived from the early morning message from Arnavji and the blessings from her parents & buaji. Rushing herself out of the exam hall she replied to her Arnavji how he made it easy for her to concentrate on her studies as before. Her comfortable level with him was increasing day by day and that proved when she even had doubts getting cleared by him through messages which was a rare sight to her friends.

Shreya : Khushi , I cant believe it ! Jiju cleared your doubts ? But what would he know about Physics as he was specialized in IT ?

Khushi : Yea.. Arnavji knows pretty much about the subject. He did have knowledge on the topics which I had asked too. He didn't even care about his office work for clearing my doubts.

Kavya : oh.. wow.. Khushi Jiju clears your doubts haan?

Khushi (innocently looking with confused eyes) : Yes.. why ?

All of them laughed looking at the " O" shaped mouth of Khushi who understood what they were up to. She got angry with them and turned away walking from them. Turning away with a fake anger was only to hide her crimson red cheeks as she was still shy to talk such topics with anyone. But her Arnavji had eased out the awkwardness which she had while talking to him. She was on full thoughts while her friends were pleading behind her to forgive them. She agreed and they were back to their masti mode while she received a call from an unknown number. She was a bit apprehensive as Arnav had already warned her not to attend any strange calls. She gave it a thought but picked up the call.

NK: Hey chotti' do you think twice to even attend your brother's call now ? New relations and love have made you disown your brother too?

Khushi : NK.. stop it.. what are talking about ? Don't you ever repeat that. Is this the way to start your conversation with me? What sort of a comment was that? Why should I disown you? Have you ever thought about ur family till now? By the way how do I know that it was your number? Have you ever had an idea how ur parents and sister would feel when you don't inform them on how you survive in that new place? Did you care to even enquire about their health? You had your own selfish reasons and now blaming me of disowning you?

NK : wow.wow.. lioness.. Calm down .. I was just joking dear.

Khushi : I don't like these type of jokes NK..

NK : You have started talking much Khushi..

Khushi : Is that a compliment or a complaint brother ?

NK : of course Compliment little sister.

Khushi : let it be.. So how are you? Hows your job search ?

NK : Im doing good infact today Im on the top of the world. Your brother got a good job in a well known MNC with a pretty decent salary.

Khushi ( squealed in excitement) : Saach ?? wow.. . Amma, Buaji and papa would be so happy to hear this.

NK : Yea.. I know. I have already called amma and informed. She was happy indeed.

Khushi : Really ? Did you talk to Papa?

NK : No.. I don't want to.. I want to prove that I don't easily give up.

Khushi : What ? You are challenging your own father ! Arent you ashamed of yourself ?

NK : Leave it Khushi. You wont understand. Vaise how is your studies going on? Did you write the exam properly?

Khushi : Of course I did. What did you think of me ? I am not NK who would bunk the classes and study at the last minute writing exams depending on his friend's courtesy.

NK : Excuse me.. Im not the same NK anymore. Try to get that into your head..

Khushi : Ok.. Just kidding. When are you coming ? You know Arnavji had been asking me for your number, he wanted to atleast have one time conversation with his future brother in law before marriage. Even whole family is eagerly waiting to see my brother. Naniji,Mamaji, Mamiji, Di, Jijaji, even Madhu and Lavanya too.

Hearing Lavanya's name NK felt a tug in himself. His only concern was not to show himself before Lavanya. He knew Lavanya could go to the extend of even cancelling this marriage. He didn't even want to have communication with his own to be Jijaji as he would surely feel guilty while talking to him. He had cheated his Jijaji's sister and how can he expect his to be Jijaji to be nice towards his sister when he understands the truth. He wanted to keep himself aloof from that family at the maximum possible extend only for his sister. He was selfish for his sister's life,if she hadn't wholeheartedly accepted the proposal he would have never cared for Lavanya or his to be jijaji. Now its time to think about how to appear himself before them during her marriage.

All his thoughts were interrupted by a continuous chatter of his little sister who continued her praises for her Arnavji and his family which did irritate him a bit.

Khushi : Its not fair NK. Im so close to his sisters and he will feel bad that he hadn't even had the opportunity to talk to my only brother.

NK : Fine Khushi. I will talk to him. Just message me his mobile number and mail id. Are you so close to his sisters ?

Khushi : Yea.. Di is like Payal.. She is not his elder sis but mine. She loves me so much. And Lavanya.. I love her. Though our first meet was a bitter one, we have really become close now particularly after when she got into trouble and got rescued. That time I really wished you were here to help me.

NK : Why? What happened ?

Khushi : That's a long story' I will narrate that when you come for Payal's marriage. You would attend na ?

NK : Khushi.. I just got the appointment letter and you expect me to get suspended as soon as I join? How can I take leave now?

Khushi : hmm. I understand NK but its our Payal's marriage. She is also like our sister. She doesn't have any siblings. So we have to be there during her marriage.

NK : Yea sister like. Not my own sister.. So forget it. Here Im not even sure that I could attend my own sister's marriage you are having hopes on me attending Payal's ?

Khushi : I will kill you if you don't turn up two weeks before my marriage. Then what use in calling you my brother?

NK : hahah. I know chotti.. Chalo.. Let me hang up.. You take care... I will call you later bye..

NK hanged up the call. His reason of not attending Payal's marriage proved to be a blessing in disguise but he cant repeat that for his own sister's marriage. He sighed thinking of his tough situation of not able to decide anything now.

Abhay landed in his hometown welcomed by his parents who felt like their daughter has come back to her mayka after ages showered on him love even shedding tears which made Abhay feel like running back to US. He felt peace when he met his bro Akash coming home to give him some company.Abhay didn't want to waste his idle time proposed to meet Swetha which the family readily agreed. He took the opportunity of meeting Swetha and Khushi at Swetha's house as they were informed that Khushi and her friends were having their group study in her house.

In the name of group study Shreya was busy talking to Kavya on the last night episode review of her favourite serial while Swetha was busy in reading. Khushi immersed her thoughts in finding out what surprise Arnavji meant for her.

Swetha :Khushi.. what are you thinking about?

Khushi (lost in thoughts) : voh.. My Arnavji'

Shreya : arre yaar. Why did you ask her Swetha ? Don't you know if she is lost in thoughts ignoring her studies then it has to be thoughts about her Arnavji only!

Kavya : Yea' dreaming about her already fixed Prince Charming.. Do you know her man comes in plane not in a horse' LOL'

All of them burst into laughter making Khushi's face flushing. She could no longer tolerate their talks'

KHushi : Swetha.. Im leaving.. You all continue..

Swetha : Hey wait dear.. We were just teasing you sweet heart. Don't take it into heart.

Khushi : aha.. You wont understand this now.. Wait let Abhayji meet you and the moment they confirm your marriage date I will show you how it feels to get teased by your friends..

Swetha started blushing hearing Abhay's name from her friend.

SHreya :Oh Ya.. when is your Prince Abhayji coming Swetha? Does he have any plans to see you or like KHushi's Arnavji he also doesn't want to spoil the mood of his married life by seeing you before marriage..

Khushi got angry and started to hit her with the book while they saw Swetha's mom laughing to their talks.

Swetha's mom : Shreya beta, don't worry. Abhay bitwa is here downstairs waiting to see Swetha unofficially and inform his acceptance.

All four jaws dropped as if someone had stuffed big samosas into their mouths. Khushi couldn't believe her ears. She understood Arnav had meant Abhay's arrival as surprise.

Swetha's mom: Bitiya.. if you don't mind can you dress up Swetha and bring her down. Though ABhay bitwa doesn't want to make this official make her atleast presentable.

Khushi : Don't worry aunty. We will take care.

Swetha was hell nervous about this sudden visit of Abhay that too straight from US without any prior info.She started biting her nails in anxiety while Khushi and others were arranging her dress to wear and the matching jewels. Looking at the confused Swetha Khushi came near her and touched her shoulder.

Swetha : Khushi, Im getting scared. Actually shivering.. See touch my hand.

Khushi : No Swetha. Its just your feeling. Nothing like that. He is just here to see and talk to you. He is not going to eat you up.

Swetha : Im feeling nervous Khushi. First time Im going to meet him. What should I talk? How should I talk? Will he like me? Or should I avoid talking and just listen?

Khushi : Swetha.. Just be calm now. Don't worry about anything. Just get dressed up and come down. He is here to meet you. I have already spoken with him. He is so sweet and kind. He will make you comfortable while talking. Come and get dressed up fast.

Shreya : uff this traditional marriages, rituals and stuff. Im not interested. Kavya we have to skip this episode in our life dear. WE have to find our dulhe raja ourselves and confirm marriage only after giving some space and time for our meeting and dating.

Kavya : Yea man. Seriously.. A guy coming to see us ? We getting dressed up as if posing for a fashion show. A ice breaking session infront of the family and they giving some time for private talks as if we would decide and talk about the whole life time within that one minute of monosyllable speech. It takes many days to get introduced and start calling each others name, discussing about entire married life takes ample time. Why don't everyone understand?

Khushi : Stop it Shreya. Don't scare her. You don't need to talk about the whole life time in that one minute. Your eyes and his eyes should reciprocate that love and trust. That message is enough to share the life till eternity.

Swetha : Wow Khushi.. You seem to be so cool in this. You didn't face this problem of meeting Jijaji directly so you wont have to go through all this nervousness. How lucky you are?

Those words really left a doubt on Khushi's mind. Yea she is right. But will I feel the same nervousness when I meet Arnavji for the first time?Oh God, Im getting goosebumps thinking of that moment. I cant get embarrassed infront of the family. I will ask Arnavji to meet me somewhere outside. Her inner thoughts and expressions were really amusing that her friends gaped at her and smiled for her craziness.

Shreya : Oye.. chalo.. Khushi is back to her Arnavji Thoughts mode. Lets move..

Khushi : Shreya.. Im not going to spare you today..

Girls giggling behind Swetha came down to meet Abhay was not alone but had dragged his brother like Akash with him. Abhay and Akash was sitting on the couch talking to Swetha's father. ABhay was a bit scared looking at his huge sized father in law gulping all his fears on how he would be slaughtered by him if he comes to know about the Play boy Abhay in the US. Abhay was good in taking people in his control with his sweet and lovey dovey talks. He just tried to soften his father in law's stern talks and he was successful in doing so. AKash was sitting with his head bent down proclaiming that he has no connection with Abhay whatsoever.

Swetha came and sat beside her father while her friends stood behind them. AKash was happy seeing his bhabhi and smiled at her acknowledging his presence. ABhay's eyes were on his beautiful fianc and he was really impressed by her looks. He had thought he would be caught under a conservative bhabhiji look kind of a girl in Swetha but to his surprise Swetha was quite modern and very good looking much better than all those chicks whom he had dated till now. He mentally cursed himself for not having met Swetha before. Seeing his damaad's eyes were totally on his daughter, Swetha's father asked them to have some private talks inside the room. Abhay readily agreed and followed Swetha leaving behind a giggling friend circle who was wishing their best friend All the best through actions.

Abhay came out of the room with Swetha after his not so long discussion. Her father had left for work as he had to urgent leave for a meeting. Abhay became much comfortable feeling the gust of naughty air blowing over his face. He had talked to Swetha about herself and himself. He had made her comfortable and ease in talking which would be a better first step for the married life. He informed his acceptance infront of everyone making all of them happy and contented.

Abhay turned towards Khushi who was feeling very happy for her friend getting settled in life along with her.

Abhay : ah..now the most important person is here for whom I came to India.

KHushi : JI' Me ?

Abhay : Why Bhabhi ? You forgot me so soon?

Khushi : NO Abhayji. How can I forget? How are you ?

Abhay : Im good and now Im still better.

Khushi : I can make out from your blushing face.

Abhay : Bhabhi, I m not blushing..

Khushi :hmm. I know all men are the same. You claim that you wont blush but I can literally spot out your shyness.

Abhay : All men or just Arnie ? I mean your Arnavji ?

Now it was Khushi's time to blush giving a chance for the rest of the girls to giggle at her.

Khushi : I said in general. I didn't mean my Arnavji.

Abhay :WOah.. My Arnavji.. Dekha Akash .. Its not our Arnie, its Bhabhi's Arnavji..Samjhe..

Khushi : Abhayji.. so have joined the teasing squad now ah?

Akash : Enough of teasing my bhabhi for todayAbhay. Are you planning to continue your talks and make the girls get bored ont the first day. Shaadi ka maamla hain yaar. Just be cautious.

Abhay : Ok bhabhi.. We shall drop you. I wanted to meet your family too.

Khushi : Abhayji.. thanks..

Abhay : Anything for you bhabhi. From today you have two slaves. I mean two devars.

Akash : Abhi, how come you are devar? You are same age as of bhai.

Abhay : So what ? I look younger to both of you infact. Right?

Abhay winked at Swetha which made her blush the most making her hide behind giggling Khushi.

Khushi : Now I think we should leave.. Bye Swetha, Shreya and Kavya.

They hugged and making others feel jealous of their friendship. Abhay bid farewell to all of them and turned back to see Swetha and pass a cute smile making her face go deep into red.

Kushi's chatterbox was on full swing and she didn't know when they reached her house. She asked them to get down but they cooked up some reason to leave the place dropping her. Before leaving Abhay came out and gave a parcel to Khushi which she looked with confusion.

Abhay : Gift for his fianc by Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada straight from the heart. And don't worry bhabhi we already met your family and delivered their gifts from their damaad. Yours was special. If I had not given this by hand your Arnavji would hang me to death. Take care. And all the best. Bye..

Akash : Bye bhabhi'

Kushi was shocked beyond words looking at the box.. She couldn't express her anxiety and happiness that tears came out from her eyes feeling and touching the gift that her Arnavji had sent for her. She never expected him to surprise her. She hurried to her room with the gift ignoring the others who were at the hall discussing.

She closed her room door and kept the box close to her heart feeling him. She kissed on it feeling his hands would have touched to pack it. She didn't want anything precious but the most precious of everything was the something from his hand to hers. One which had touched she could touch. That feeling was a bliss. She continued to stare with a grin and danced with the rhythm of the music of love. The rhythm of her heartbeats which beats his name everytime.

Nani was about to hop in but Khushi came near Mami and washed her legs and cleaned her saree with water.It shocked everyone present there.

Mami : Khushi bitiya'.what are you doing ?

Khsuhi : That's ok mami. You are like my mother so no harm in cleaning a mother's leg.
