Arnav blindly hoping against hope that Khushi might not have gone for the dinner was sweet
Arnav showing his anger on HP for a trivial doubt - poor boy, HP had to face Arnav's wrath
Arnav's attitude while inquiring about the dinner to Khushi was well-framed ----- taking her hand into his shows his act of trying to calm himself down & preparing himself to listen to her overjoyed experience (that's how he guessed the dinner to be), then playing with her ring shows his restlessness, getting angry that she wasn't sharing her experiences as usual shows his possessive feeling of wanting to be her confidante shooting up, trying his best to get atleast a small hint out of her mouth & then confused over her sudden dismissal reflects his perplexed state
A tensed Arnav pacing the terrace like a caged tiger was a lovely phrase... the part where you indicated that he would have been able to figure out the uneasiness troubling her hidden behind her mask of over-chirpiness if & only if he didn't let his insecurities overpower him......love the way you name & narrate Arshi's emotions so expressively & in detail
Khushi hurt on being questioned about her family background by her friend's family and not being able to gather herself to shut the taunting lady's mouth & suffering inwardly with a fake smile drawn over her face was really sad to read
Mrs. Roy's talk about class shows that she is classless
Akash shamelessly claimed to have fought with his mother for Khushi but stood dumb when the real scene of defending her arose & dissuading Khushi from seeing someone else was totally annoying
She just could not wait to go back her kids and her fiance. People she belongs with. Her family who accepts her as she is. Her HOME.
This was a very adorable line
It would be better to term Mr. Akash Roy as Mr. Spineless Roy
What kind of a man is he, staying quiet inspite of the humiliation his mother is making her go through.....letting alone the fact that he is a lawyer shouldn't a man stay strong and protect his lady love from being felt hurt that to by his own mother
I wanted to smash Akash right on his face when he wanted to discourage Khushi from seeing some one... I wanted to lash out on him & ask him why on earth would Khushi prefer him, so as to marry him & go through a miserable life hearing his mother's endless taunts & see him being a spineless man witnessing the scene & doing nothing else than saying 'please Maa'
And moreover Khushi would never every have second thoughts of marrying Arnav, who takes care of her as a porcelain doll over that 'Spineless Akash'
Wonder where Arnav has gone out at this time of the night, hope things are fine & also wonder if
Khushi will be able to reach him & if she does what will be her reaction...hmmm....sweet scoldings, āŗļø I guess
Things I'd love to read in this FF if possible:
Khushi's reaction on knowing that Arnav loved her immensely & the reason for their marriage is not only for the kids
Arnav's reaction on knowing that Khushi had a chrush on him
How Arshi live as a happy family together with Adit, Adya & their children?
Quoted the best lines:
- 'She is not a kid. And even if she was, she is escorted by her close friend, isn't she? Must be enjoying a lot with his family. Else what dinner goes on for 3 hours?' he grouched. It has been a VERY long 2 days for Arnav, and his sanity was nearing the end of its tether.
- 'And? What else did you do there?' he asked possessively taking her left hand into his hands.
- 'Did you tell them about the engagement?' Arnav asked, now playing with the ring on her finger.
- Had Arnav's senses not been taken over by his insecurities, he would have noticed the DISTRESS in her voice behind the extra chirpiness. Had his eyes not been veiled with red and green emotions, he would have seen that the twinkle in her eyes was due the flimsy layer of TEARS in them.
- Only that the evening got worse. Cold scrutiny changed into probing inquiry of her background making her quite uncomfortable.
- And absolutely NOTHING MADE SENSE to her.
- 'For God's sake I am engaged already, and I freaking don't give two hoots about being HER daughter-in-law for sure'
- 'OH. Oh. NO. No Akash. We are friends and I want it to stay that way' said a perplexed Khushi.
- 'Listen Akash, I have never seen you that way. You don't have to fight with your mother over me. And I have heard enough for the day from her. I want to go home' she replied in croaked voice.
- 'Your mother for one does not share your opinion and secondly, I am already seeing someone. Can you please drop me back?'
- She just could not wait to go back her kids and her fiance. People she belongs with. Her family who accepts her as she is. Her HOME.
- ... she had no desire to meet that family again for next thousand years, let alone be a part of it.
- She had then composed herself and had gone to Arnavji, but to her horror, he refused to talk about anything else than the pathetic dinner and pathetic hosts... she did not want to be the reason for anybody's misery. Why should anyone suffer professionally because they have a condescending mother and no back-bone in their personal life?
- He'll be the death of me one day, she thought as she started dialing his number, angry, worried and helpless.
