CHAPTER 8
Khushi sat on the bed and opened the diary , she cant stick to her promise anymore , and so she will read a bit more and she opened the page from which she will start
28th July :
I DON'T BELIEVE IN PUTTING A TIMELINE ON LOVE. IT WILL HAPPEN , WHEN IT HAS TO . IT DOESN'T START ON A SPECIFIC DATE , NOR DOES IT END ON ONE. ITS ETERNAL , ITS FOREVER .
It had been five days since I have seen her. Every morning , I woke up with a thought of seeing her, but for last 5 days , disappointment , disappointment and disappointment. I had started to think that it was stupid of me' but then Love makes you always do STUPID and CRAZY things. Though I have still not done anything like that. The way i write this diary , people may think that I am a Geek , but I am not . Its that I simply cant share my this feelings with my friends , as they will laugh over it , make a joke of it and will move on . My friends, have this mentality that girls are only for enjoyment and timepass , and you flirt with them , impress them with your charm and then spend a day or two with them and MOVE ON . Me and my group of friends are considered as playboys , coz we flirt , impress , spend time and move on . Was never interested in all this , but then the friends and their company always changes you , then and there girls throw them on you , and you try to spend some quality time with them thinking , perhaps she is the last one and will settle with them , but then you realize and breakup , and you become a playboy and flirt in everybody's eyes. But she is not like those other girls , who fall on me , she is homely and settled and that is the main reason I fell for her and perhaps she will settle me too. Was meeting impatient for not seeing her and then she entered with her friends in the canteen and come sat beside our table. I heard her sweet , melodic voice after whole 5 days , saw her face , her expressive eyes and felt relaxed. I wish someday I will get a chance to talk with her. I wish'
So he was a playboy , as everybody used to call him , but certainly he was not , because people like him always have true hearts and true feelings. She smiled and turned the diary page again to read the next part. The next part was written about 1 month later .
20th August :
EVERYTIME HER EYES LOOK AT ME , I AM SACRED THAT SHE WOULD SEE THROUGH ME . I AM SCARED THAT EVENTUALLY I AM NOT A PERFECT HUMAN BEING AND UNLIKE HER , I HAVE FLAWS.
Days were passing and we were nearing towards our final semester . It was my last year in university, soon I will pass out and if I didn't talk with her before that probably will never be able to talk with her again. Today was her birthday , it seemed that it was not only a special day for her , but also for me. She was too happy , her eyes throughout the day was twinkling , she was smiling , and there was a crowd surrounding her throughout the day just to wish her , which was just an excuse for those filthy guys to touch her hands. But I didn't went to wish her. Even my friends went too . Hmm I think probably for not having any bad intention , God gifted me this , this chance of being close to her , this chance of looking at her divine rich hazel eyes. It happened all of a sudden , I was going towards the canteen and she was coming out from the canteen , she was too engrossed in talking with her friends and was walking back side and that was when she bumped into me and lost her balance.She was about to fall and my instants kicked me and I hold her , my hands were in her waist and her hands were on my neck . We both looked or rather gazed at eachothers eyes for a long time and when she realised her position , she quickly left me got up and mumbled a 'THANKS' and left with her friends , without even giving a second glance to me . I even missed my chance of talking with her , of wishing her. I wish someday I will get a chance to talk with her. I wish'
Khushi completed reading this part and she smiled . Arnav was such a sweet guy , he was a type of guy with which anybody can fall in love so easily , but this silly girl , who was she , that she didn't even give him a second look . She felt bad for Arnav and anger towards this unknown and that is when she remembered that she was going to irritate Arnav and so she smiled and got up , put the diary under her pillow , rubbed her hands , smiled a bit and came out of his room and went in front of his door and knocked it.
Arnav who was working on his laptop , looked at the door and said
"What happened???"
"Can I come in ? "
"No !" came a short reply
"Pleaseee" she said extra sweetly and he sighed and said
"Ok come in !!"
And she opened the door and came inside , and he looked at her and asked
"Kya hai ?? what do you want now?"
"My phone !!!"
"you are not getting it , so go from here"
"Please"
"No !!!"
"Arnav please please!!"
"Xcuse me ??"
"Ya ya you are excused."
"Shut up !! I guess you are forgetting that I have kidnapped you."
"Haan na mujhe yaad hai .."
"Listen I am keeping you free doesn't mean I am giving all freedom"
"Haan mujhe yeh bhi pata hai'"
"Then how come you are asking for it ?" he said cocking his eyebrow and Khushi didn't missed that look , and didn't even missed a chance of thinking how handsome he looked while doing this. And she said
"Listen bahut din hogaye hai maine aapne boyfriend se baat nahi ki hai , so I need to talk with him just for 5 mins , I promise not more than 5 mins."
"And why shold I allow you , what if you tell him about everything."
"I swear I will not tell him and he stays out of india so he cant help also pls pls pls.."
"No !!! I don't trust you."
"Arnav listen please , I need to hear his voice once , please I am begging."
He looked at her sad face and nodded and said
"Ok fine 5 mins , not a second more than that , and if you tell , then just remember , you are going to face the worst."
"Promise I will not tell , just let me tak with him." And with that hand her , her phone and she smiled at him , took it and went out of the room.
After a min or so she came back with a sad dropped face and came and stood near him and offered him the phone. He was surely not expecting her to come back this soon. She handed him the phone , while he looked at her confused and asked
"Bari jaldi baat hogayi '" [You talked really fast]
But she didn't reply and sat down on the couch beside his and made a sad face. Again something unexpected and so he asked
"Whats the matter ??? Everything ok ???"
"Nahi Arnav nothing is ok ' He didn't pick up my call and then why will he , aakhir he has broken up with me."
"What ???"
"Ya !!! ok fine I need to do a confession to you." He was about to say yes to her and listen to her but then he got reminded of the situation and he said
"Whatever it I don't want to listen so just get lost from here."
"Please' just listen to my confession , I promise then I will go and sleep , I need to tell you all these."
"See m not free like you , I have my own personal works."
"I know , but 10 mins , will not cost you more please , only once."
"Ok spit it out whatever it is."
She smiled and started
"I am sorry tumne jab mujhe kidnap kiya toh maine pehle decide kiya , ki I will seduce you and then after you tell me the password , I will be able to escape from here , I tried seducing you , and you even got seduced but then I hurt you , though I didn't want it to hurt you that deep , but by mistake it got and you fainted and that also before telling me the password and I couldn't escape from here. Next I thought about mixing something in your food , as you said , I knew it that if I would mix , you will surely eat it , coz I have gained your trust regarding the food thing , but then mai daali kya ghar mein toh kuch bhi nahi hai' so this plan also failed , now I came up with the plan of me and you becoming friends so that after that I can blackmail you and you will free me , haah !!! but you were not ready to become my friend too So another FAILURE"
And after saying this she took a deep breathe and looked at Arnav , who was all thee time staring at her with an 'Unbelievable ' type of expression and Khushi smiled and continued
"Jab friendship bhi kaam nahi kiya then I thought of why not irritate you so much that you will himself say 'Get out' and I will be free , I tried that too , but tum toh really mahan ho' See honestly I don't have any problem staying with a handsome kidnapper like you , who even doesn't torture me , and even provides me with good food , what I am just fed up of is that I cant talk . I seriously need to talk with someone please."
As she stopped Arnav said
"And all these time , I guess you were talking only' I mean seriously kitna bolti ho tum , even in those silly boring meeting those who does the presentations doesn't speak this much."
"Ya that's the problem , I love talking and now I cant talk even , so please I seriously and geniuinly need a friend , ok you don't want to be my friend its ok , just please at least talk with me , when you get some time . I mean ya I know that you are a busy person , but still thoda baat kar loge toh kya bigar jayega'.."
"I don't want to become some mental patient , coz already I got broken up with my boyfriend , whom I used to love , no I didn't love him , I just used to like him.. coz pyaar toh sirf ek bar hota hai and jisse hota hai , who humesha aapke liye bahut special hai. Isnt this what they say in the movies ??? then I didn't used to love him , I just used to like him , ok forget it see what my point is'"
"Right finally you are coming to your point , now speak it up fast."
"My point is' if you don't talk with me , then I don't have anybody to talk with me and surely soon I will become a mad person , and then think , I am beautiful , gorgeous , hot , sexy , intelligent , and a doctor but if I go mad , seeing all these qualities also nobody will marry me , then what will I do , I don't want to remain single throughout my life coz I want to get married and that also in both the ways Hindu and Christian' So please please please do become my friend so that I can talk with you after you return home everyday please."
Arnav looked at her , stood up and said
"I don't care if you go mad or anything else , I am just not interested in talking with you." And started to move away towards the door when she suddenly got up too to stop him and to pull his hand , and before both could understand , how , when , what happened they fell down on the couch , Khushi and on top of her Arnav.
Arnav looked at her , and in her eyes . They simply kept staring into eachother's eyes just trying to read the other , and the sileance was broken by obviously Khushi and she said
"Mai kuch bolu"
And Arnav shook his head in a negative.
"Tumhaari aankhein'"
"I said No khushi'" he whishphered and his warm breathe brushed her face , and she smiled . He looked at her catchy beautiful smile and kept on looking at it , when he saw her parting her lips and then heard her voice
"I know tum mujhe kyu rok rahe ho , coz you know , tumhaari aankhein bahut zyada bolti hai , and insaan ki aankhein kabhi kuch galat nahi bolti" [I know why you are stopping me, coz your eyes speak a lot' and nobody 's eyes speaks wrong.]
"Khushi !!!"
"Nahi Arnav tumhaari ankhein '. They are pure and they are just saying that you are not the person you are , your soul is not like what you try to show , its pure and that you cant , just simply cant hurt me."
"Khushi !!! As per I know tum aankhon ki nahi Dil ki doctor ho , so you are reading all wrong, now its too late so just go and get some sleep , you need it , and we will talk about it later"
She smiled and said
" Finally it seems like'"
"Whatever it seems like , just keep it to yourself and go to bed."
"Arnav mai tab hi aapne kamre mein ja sakti hoon , jab tum mere upar se uthoge" [Arnav I can go to my room only then , when you will get up from me.]
That's when Arnav realised that he was still on top of her , while having this conversation and soon he got up and moved away and offered her his hand. She slowly hold his hand and got up . Both of them didn't miss to notice , how their hands fitted into each others.
Khushi looked at him and smiled an other time and saying "Good night" went out of his room , and before closing the door , she turned back and looked at him for once and found him still looking at her in confusion and in doubt , and she slowly closed the door and went back to her room. She didn't wanted to turn back and look at him once more , but then she didn't wanted to be like that girl in his diary.
She got freshened up and looked at the time and found it to be 1 at night , he wanted to sleep , but then she knew , she will not be able to sleep until she read another chapter of his diary and so she took it out and started turning the pages. How she was getting addicted to his diary , as if it was her bedtime partner , she was never able to sleep alone , but after getting this diary under her pillow , she think of it as a person and gets a good night's sleep. And as she reached the page , she started reading it
9th September :
ITS AMAZING HOW PROMISES LIKE 'I WILL BE THERE' ARE MADE AND BROKEN IN A MATTER OF DAYS. FOR ME THOUGH PROMISES ARE MEANT TO LAST FOREVER.
Today as I entered the cabin , I saw a heart wrenching scene , my angel , my dream angel was sitting there in the middle of the canteen , surrounded with her friends was crying . She was crying her heart out , I don't know the reason , but seeing her cry was enough to make me and my heart sad. I just looked at her , how she cried , how her liner got a bi disturbed because of it . How in between he cries she explained to her friends , what has happened. I stood there still , what wrong in her world can happen that can make her cry so bad. Seeing her cry , it was as if my heart was bleeding , I was feeling a pain , I so wanted to go and console her , but then she never knew me , I so wanted to know the reason of hers behind her crying , and that's when I noticed that my best friend was long gone there , standing beside her and consoling her. And I knew it , that finally I will get to know what was the reason behind those precious tears. I went and sat down on our table at the corner of the canteen , and after a minute or so my best friend returned . Seeing him I asked him what was the matter and he explained that her boyfriend promised her that 'he will be there' at some place , and when she reached there he was not . She called him and he told her that all was over between them and there was nothing more left and so there was no need for him to be there. I felt bad for her , but then felt bad for the boy who did this , who lost such an amazing girl like her. I promised myself that day that if she comes to me someday , I will try my best to not make her cry , afterall those small drops of tears also had a lot of value for me. I wish someday I will get a chance to talk with her. I wish'
And as she finished reading this part , a small drop of tear escaped her eyes , she wiped it and thought , how can a person love anybody so much , that also without talking with her for once. But then another question came into her mind , why , just why he changed from being such a loveable person to a rude polished person . She knew soon or enough she will have to find out the reason , but she again knew that somewhere deep down there was this loveable person living inside him. She wanted to knew more about that diary girl and about his love story , how it framed , but she was too sleepy to read anymore and so she put the diary under his pillow and closed her eyes , to get a sleep.
Next day she woke up a bit late and came outside to make some coffee , when she made some coffee and came outside , she saw him sitting in the hall and reading newspaper , as she was about to go she heard him say
"Good Morning!!!"
She looked at him as if he has grown two horns and he asked
"What ??"
"Tumne really mujhe good morning kaha or mere kaan baj rahe hai."
He rolled his eyes and said
"What do you think???"
"Aahh I am not sure'"
"Of course I said it'"
"Oh ok Good morning" and she came with the coffee towards the sofa and said
"Can I sit ???"
"Sure !!!"
Khushi was unable to believe what was happening , it was like she was dreaming and so she said
"Pinch me ??"
"Xcuse me ???"
"Aare pinch me na!!!"
"Why should I ???"
"Coz I want to see whether I am dreaming or not."
"Ok fine but don't shout later on" and he slowly pinched her and she looked at him understanding that she was not dreaming.
"Ok fine , tumne khud mujhse baat ki right."
"Hmmm I guess yes."
"Ok .. so tum aaj office nahi jaoge ???" [So will not go to the office today?]
"No the doctor has asked me to take rest for at least 3 days."
"Ohk" and with that she started sipping her coffee , when his phone rang and he checking the caller id picked it up.
"Hello !!!"
"Ya sweety I am fine , and how s you ?"
"Hmm ok ' No I am taking rest don't worry."
"Ya in home'"
"What ????" he almost shouted in the phone and Khushi started coughing hearing his shout and looked at him while he continued
"No aweetheart you cant come' I mean no .. what you are downstairs'please try to understand'.. what no I have work'. You go back home I am coming' not here' please' hello '."
And he kept down the phone with a "Oh shit !!! " and also a "Dammit !!!" .
Khushi who was looking at him all these time was guessing something and as soon as he said
"Go inside the room and don't come out , unless I ask you to" her doubt got confirmed and she said
"Ok !!!! seems like kisi ki girlfriend ghar aa rahi hai and usne mujhe yaha dekh liya toh ' you are gone isn't it ???"
"Khushi just shut up and go inside your room" he started pacing the hall.
"Aaha Mai kyu jau'. Let her come , let her see ki mai yaha tumhaare saath ek ghar mein reh rahi hoon, let her guess that we are having something and then let her shout at you and let a misunderstanding be created."
"Just shut up and go inside."
"I am not going anywhere."
"Fine then I have to change my mind , of becoming good with you , of trying to be your friend and talk with you , and of becoming a mild kidnapper by not tying you up."
"What ???" she asked confused
"Yes now either you are going inside and following my instructions , or I am going to tie your hands , legs and mouth and gonna throw you in one corner of your room." He said with a deadly serious tone and Khushi said
"Ok fine !!! I am going .. you don't have to do all this" and with that she went to her room , while Arnav went downstairs to bring her up.
