Part4

"Good Morning"

As usual his casual yet subtle voice hit with her ear drums and she fluttered her lashes before opening her eyes and lifted them to give him a glance who without waiting her reply was heading towards the washroom, her heart had slammed against her chest reminding herself it wasn't her house---it was her husband's house and she had been married to him.

She gulped the lump and let her voice sounded shaky and uneasy, "good morning"

But as the words erupted her lips she realized he had been going to take a shower. She breathed again throwing her head against the pillow. It was the first morning of her new life---first day but there is no one with her'no one whom she could share what she is going through.

"I miss you mom, dad" She whispered to herself and tears slipped from the corners of her eyes and she couldn't control her emotions anymore, she sobbed, sitting upright and throwing her bare feet over the side of the bed until she heard the sound of twisting the knob she quickly removed the lingering tears with her palm taking a deep breath, sniffed and wiped her nose before he could step out, reminding herself she wasn't weak---she had to be strong and would accept everything that fate would bring in her life.

As Mayank took out the step from the doorway he gave a brief glance to her side to see if she was awaked or was still sleeping but what he saw brought a slight smile of amusement on his lips, she was arranging the sheets and pillows trying to avoid to look at his side but he knew how much she was looking nervous doing all this. a strange wave of contentment rushed into his vein to feel what life was offering him and now it was on him how he would accept this new life'this girl in his life.He shook his head keeping aside all the thoughts for a moment before stepping close to her, "you no need to do all this'there is maid for doing all this"

He tried to maintain his voice soft and she lifted her gaze finally meeting with him, "yes, there are maids to do all the work but my mom used to say me a woman should do all the works of her house her own. It's her duty to take care of her house not maids duty" She had given the slight shimmering smile in response in her usual plain tone again returning her attention towards her work.

"But we pay for them for their work and its their duty to do all household work" though his tone wasn't harsh but offending and She pressed her lips together, gazing down at the floor. His words stung and she wanted to give him tight reply but she didn't.

"Is there any harm if I want to do all the work of my house my own?"

A strange wave of emotions passed through her heart as she realized what she just said---her house'her heart fluttered to feel the effect of these words but she gasped in relief as he hadn't noticed a bit what she was thinking.

"No---there isn't harm but----"

"I won't ever complain you for doing all my duties as a wife"

He had given her a brief look before lifting his one shoulder in shrug, "as you wish"

He sighed taking long strides towards the almirah trying to avoid another argument with his wife. He knew he couldn't win this argument against his bride---he laughed at himself what a start of his first day of marriage? Another attempt of argument between them.

Such an arrogant man she had muttered under her breath grabbing out her suit from the bag and then stepped towards the washroom to take shower before get ready herself for the happenings of the first day of her marriage.

After an hour, He had given the glance to his watch third time in half an hour sitting at the breakfast table'it was the first time after many years when his breakfast wasn't ready before his arrival at the breakfast table. As she had declared she would do herself all the household work he didn't argue with her allowing her she could do what she like. Today morning when she had taken a step into the kitchen she had announced she would take the charge of the kitchen and would cook for him. He shrugged getting annoyed at the fact everything had been changed in just one day and night.

Preparing the breakfast she gave the instructions to maid to arrange it on the breakfast table and slipped out the kitchen wiping her palm with the corner of her sari As she dressed today according to the newly-wedded bride though there wasn't no elder in the house who would appreciate her efforts but she didn't want t give the notion to the others people'maids'drives and other people in house that she didn't know her traditions and values.

"sorry'I know I've taken some time to prepare breakfast" She spoke in apologizing tone sinking down at her chair and he had finally lifted his gaze up regarding her with the sarcastic smile, "Actually I haven't habit to have my breakfast with lunch" His tone was undeniably cynical and she had pressed her lips together trying to keep her mouth shut but couldn't.

"Neither I have habit to have my breakfast with lunch" she had twitched her lips in hard reply but the took pause lowing her voice "it's just it's my first day in the house it took me some time to understand the things"

He had allowed his gaze to observe the emotions, the uneasy lines of panic that was floating on her face and the realization hit him hard..How could he forget she didn't know anything about his way of life---his house? Wasn't he was a stranger to her? It wasn't easy to accept this new life so easily. He gulped down the lump of momentary guilt lifting up his chin.

"Sorry.. I didn't mean that"

She had looked bewildered to see those scattered lines of guilt on his features that he was trying to cover up under his soft expressions.

They wished each other "Good Morning", Nupur is trying to be a perfect wife, she is ready to complete all the wifely duties.. That's very nice..
Hawww... Unconsciously Mayu is being sarcastic with Nupur.. How will Nupur know where the things are kept in his house!!
