Chapter 6

After all the guests had left, the Verma siblings retired to their rooms to change and then go to khushi and arushi's room until they felt tired, something they did every night. As khushi was burping arushi, tears started to run down her face thinking of arnav. Her mind flashed to all the moments they had spent together and their consummation. "Khushi?" Khushal and Karan asked in alarm when they say khushi crying. "Why are you crying??" khushal asked. "I'm a bad mother right. I kept arushi away from her father, she wont ever get a fathers love because of me. I can never make her happy". On hearing arushis father from khushi's mouth, karan became rigid. Khushal remained quiet. He was never the violent one. Khushi had never told them who exactly the man who played with her was, but they knew the whole story, just not the family name. They tried to get it out many times, but she never told them, and they left her alone not wanting to open her wounds. But karan knew that if he ever found that scoundrel, he wouldn't take another breath. "Khushi. why do you say that? We are there. Arushis mammas are there, whoever that man is does not deserve you or arushi. We are there for you, you and arushi will be with us forever. Do not ever think of that man ever again, we love you more than anything in this world". Khushal nodded in agreement, his eyes getting misty. Oh how much karan wanted to find that man and hurt him like he hurt his baby sister. With that, they all went to bed holding each other.

Chapter 7

The raizada's sat in the living area of the verma's emaculate mansion, surrounded with pictures of karan,khushal arushi and khushi. They "conveniently" stopped by to give Prasad and karan asked them to stay for dinner. Khushal, who was playing with arushi was startled when arnav asked to hold her. Nonetheless, he gave him his beloved niece. Arushi jumped in arnavs lap, pulling his hair and smiling through her pacifier. She made baby noises that made aranvs heart warm and him smile. Karan and khushal were surprised to see ASR smile, and that with a small baby. His family watched on while they saw a daughter and father playing. Suddenly arushi saw arnav's phone in his coat pocket and reached for it. Taking it, she started to play with it and almost put it in her mouth when arnav stopped her. "Nahi beta, this isn't for your mouth" with a smile. But arushi scrunched her eyebrows and gave him a pout. He saw khushi's pout and his anger in her. The rest of their raizada's in their mind said that this was of course arnavs daughter. She had his temper. Suddenly a figure wearing sunglasses, holding a white laptop, files and wearing a lawyer's cape walked in. When the figure looked up, everyone saw that it was khushi! "Khushi is a lawyer???!!" all the raizada's thought to themselves.

Part two

"Hi khushi!" khushal called to khushi. She looked up and was shocked to find the raizadas in the living room. "Umm hi bhai.." khushi trailed off. Hearing khushi's voice, arushi turned around and started to jump. Seeing arushi in her fathers arms, khushi did not know whether to be happy or mad. She walked forward and took arushi out of arnavs hands sharing a deep eye lock with him. "Bhai,bhaiya, ill change and come…" The verma bros responded with a smile and khushi walked away to change. Soon khushi in a white churidar and arushi sucking on her pacifier came down and the table was set for dinner. As khushi fed arushi her dal and rice and ate her own lunch, Anjali opened her mouth to speak, "Khushiji, I did not know that you were a lawyer? Why did you choose this profession?" Khushi's hand stopped midway to her mouth as soon as she heard anjali speak. Khushi went still but one look at arushi and she regained her confidence. "Well, Mrs. Raizada, right?" khushi shot anjali a questioning glance. Anjali lowered her head a bit. She continued, "I chose to become a lawyer because I wanted to help those people who were always shot down, those who were telling the truth, those who were right, those who were sincere, I chose to be a voice for them. So people would not accuse them of dirty things and they would not have to be insulted and they could live a nice peaceful life" Khushi finshed her speech, her eyes on every single raizada. They all lowered their eyes in shame, especially anjali. Tears glistened arnavs eyes, he wanted to take away every single pain of hers. He hated himself beaucse of what he did to her. How could he believe shyam over her! The love of his life! Karan went rigid again because he knew exactly why khushi became a lawyer. All the reasons she was listing had to do with her. "Gudiya, go and get the mitai." Karan said to khushi and she responded with a nod. Khushi came back and served everyone jalebis. Except arnav. His heart jumped with joy at that. Khushi gave arushi half of one and arushi ate it up quickly. As Khushi got up to put away the dishes, arushi asked for more jalebis. "MMM.. " arushi said, stretching her hand to the plate. "Nahi beta, you can not have so many" and with that she got up to the kitchen. As soon as khuhsi left, khushal asked, "Is she gone?" Karan careened his head and gave a nod. khushal took the jalebi off his plate and started to break them into small pieces. He handed them to karan , who put them in arushi's mouth quickly. The happy baby squealed in delight. "Don't tell mom?" karan whispered to his niece while giving her a firm kiss on the cheeks. The raizadas smiled at this act by arushis uncles and arnav felt a rush of joy seeing how much arushi's uncles loved her.
