the wait
Lilly was in Khushi's armsâŚ
Khushi starts telling her that everything will all right and her aunty will be okâŚ
Shyam was waiting with them now, after Anjeli has entered the delivery room
He told Arnav:
Shyam:-maybe they will opt for a cesarean, the doctor said soâŚ
Shyam felt a weak in his knees, he was so worried and he broke down in a chair
Arnav:-Damn it!
Arnav almost yelled:
Arnav:-damn it!
Khushi jerkedâŚ
And Lily looking so courageous, she looks at his papaa and leaving her miss...she comes to ArnavâŚshe wanted to calm himâŚ
Silently, Arnav picks her upâŚ
Lily:-don't worry!
She said lovingly, caressing his cheek with her tiny handâŚ
-everything will be alright!
She said, repeating Khushi's words to himâŚ
He smiles to her and kisses her hand:
-my angel!
He said; hugging herâŚ
They stay like that for more than ten minutes âŚ
Khushi doesn't know why but she was mesmerized, standing like that, before all that...
she was stupid to stand up like thatâŚ
This was the first time she wanted to stay to just be sure that Mrs Anjeli will be alright and the baby also but she knows she haven't the right to stay thereâŚ
For the hundred times, she was about to leaveâŚ
When Arnav puts Lily downâŚshe makes him leaning and whispered on his ear:
-I'mâŚmmâŚI haveâŚI want to use washroom...
She's whispering but when Kids whisper we could always hear that and Khushi heard that!
Arnav looks more worried and looked aroundâŚ
He was about to walk away with Lily but Khushi stands before him:
-hospitals have a publicâŚwashroomâŚone reserved only for women and another for only men and little girls can't enterâŚand you could not enter with herâŚ...(he looks at her waiting) I will take her!
She said finallyâŚ
And Lily left her pappa's hand and go to her Miss's handâŚ

Arnav looks at Khushi angrily:
Arnav:-why you still here, you? who gives you the permission?
K:-IâŚI'mâŚI was leavingâŚbutâŚ.
Arnav:-but what?
Lily:-I cannot hold it anymore!
She said while jumping cutelyâŚshe can't hold her pee (sorry) anymore...
Arnav:-but what?
Kh. looking at Lily:-she can't hold it anymore!

Lily's holding Khushi's hand, she pulled her along with her to the W.CâŚ
Both are runningâŚ

After thatâŚ
The girls: Khushi and Lily come back but doesn't find neither Arnav nor ShyamâŚ
Khushi sits on a chair in the corridor of the hospital, she makes Lily sits on her laps:
-come!
She kisses her forehead âŚKhushi was worried; where they are, now?
She looks all aroundâŚ
Lily:-where is my paa?
Khushi doesn't answer but looked here and thereâŚ
Lily:-I'm hungry, now!
Khushi doesn't answer again but looked all around againâŚ
When she saw that they both are back with a ladyâŚan old respectful lady wearing a white sareeâŚ
Khushi automatically, stand up, lifting Lily, in her arms while this one holds her neckâŚ
-Nani!
Lily shouted but doesn't have the time to leave Khushi's armsâŚwhen suddenly, Nani's comes and hugs Lily but it was like she was hugging Khushi's along with herâŚ
And suddenly, Khushi was feeling that old lady crying against her shoulderâŚ
When she looked over all thatâŚ
Her eyes meet Arnav's eyesâŚ
He was looking angryâŚangrier than beforeâŚ
She shiveredâŚshe wanted to escape from all that but howâŚ
Nani:-gods protect my daughter and her baby! protect her...
Khushi couldn't but hugs Nani back while her eyes were avoiding his severe gazeâŚ
He was walking towards herâŚ
Afraid, she looks at his eyes againâŚ
He comes so near and touching her hand which is on the back of the old ladyâŚshe takes her hand off his hand, quicklyâŚhe looked more angry and he takes Nani in his armsâŚ
Lily still in her arms was sobbing now as Nani was sobbingâŚ
And Khushi doesn't know if she should ignore that and gives Lily to her dadâŚ
A man who was able to do anythingâŚ
Even touch her hand without her permission, forcibly and looking at her like she was making a sin and she was only hugging that lady, what was the problem in that???âŚ
Arnav:-Nani! The doctors here are all with her!
Nani:-yesâŚbutâŚI'm afraid chote!...I'm...
-she will be ok! the doctor said so...
Khushi looking at them:
"Chote"? again?...they are insisting to name him like thatâŚ
All this man is chote? Really? So strangeâŚ
Khushi looks at Lily, againâŚ
Kh:-shhhâŚit's ok! Everything will be okâŚtold you, right? Everything will be okâŚyou said I'm hungry yes?
Arnav makes Nani sits in the chairs opposite to Khushi and Lily's chairsâŚwhile Nani's poses her head on his shoulderâŚ
Lily's poses her head on Khushi's chestâŚ
Arnav was convinced finally thatâŚ

That this girl was here taking care of LilyâŚ
while he was worried for his Di and her baby and for his nani's health...that Miss Gupta was helping also, he can't deny...
The time stops for awhile when he sawâŚ
How Khushi was wiping her tearsâŚkissing her cheeksâŚcaressing her hairâŚ
She takes off the headband from Lily's headâŚarranges her hair and puts the headband again in her headâŚand Lily was looking at her while she was talking to herâŚ
She takes out a bottle of hand's disinfectant from her purseâŚshe makes Lily uses it and then she again takes out a boxâŚ
He keeps lookingâŚshe gets out some JalebbiâŚand Lily gets excited, suddenlyâŚsmiling while her eyes still redâŚ
For awhile, Arnav smiles too⌠when she bits on the piece a big biteâŚlooking even happier then when she eats her favorite strawberries ice creamâŚ
She was looking at her miss while this one was lost on her tooâŚcaressing her hair, over and over againâŚ
Arnav was admiring this sceneâŚ
But Nani was admiring this alsoâŚ

Who was this girl taking care of our Lily like that? Who was she?
She thoughtâŚbutâŚshe has to wait for Anjeli to get well from all this and she will think about itâŚ
What was sure about was: she is not married

Now that she's old and Anjeli will have her own childrenâŚof course, Anjeli will be always here for Lily but stillâŚ
Looking at the way this young girl was hugging her, feeding her was amazingâŚ
Nani's head was full of thoughtsâŚshe can't stop...
For a minute, she looked at Arnav, sitting beside herâŚ
And then she looked at khushi, sitting in front of herâŚ
More perfect than that couple, she cannot findâŚ
this girl was made for his chote...No doubt...
something was telling her...she is the ONE missed in the home...
She looks again at Arnav and then at the beautiful Khushi smiling to LilyâŚ
She cannot wait, she asks Arnav whispering:
-who is she?
-she's Miss Gupta!
He whispered too and then continues to explain more to Nani:
-she Lily's Miss!
-Lily's Miss?
-yes!
-yes?
-yes, nani! She's the one bringing Di to the hospital!
-oh?...Miss Gupta, MissâŚa teacherâŚLily's teacherâŚbringing...
Nani speaks to herself while Arnav looks again towards Lily who was now in Khushi's armsâŚlaying like she lays usually in his arms when she wanted to sleepâŚ
Khushi was telling a story, softly, almost whisperingâŚ
and when she looks up...she meets his eyes again...and was surprised to see some softness...
