Virika OS- Little Things
She watched him, smiling at his actions. She loved him; her husband, her love, her Viren. She loved him with all her heart. And watching him now, fixing up the room they hoped would be occupied with another person, watching him fix the baby cot. Just simply watching him, increased the love she had for him. She would soon have her child in her arms; she would have all the happiness that she wished for. She would have her family, her sister, her brother in law, her son or daughter, her husband. What more could she ask for?
His eyebrows furrowed into a frown as he struggled putting all the parts together and she laughed at him.
'Need help?' She asked, but already knew the answer.
'No! Jeevika, it's almost done. Stop laughing at me! See? It looks great!' he said indignantly.
Viren Vadhera was good at a lot of things, and admitting that he was doing something wrong was definitely not one of them. He was so sure of everything. She knew that he could argue and argue for hours just to get his point across and so she left it at that. He was a lawyer after all. Her husband. She knew better than to try and explain to him.
He probably doesn't even know that he has still has that paint smear across his check'
She laughed again and then cleared her throat, pretending to cough, at his glare. He painted the room earlier on, and before that he actually went out and bought a huge load of toys and other things for the baby. Not only that, but because he had bought so many, Virat also helped him bring them all in.
'Manvi, did you know about this?' She had chuckled while watching the two men carry a bunch of toys at a time and then bring other things in, as well as the parts for the cot.
'Yes! I'm the one who told jeeju to get a couple of toys for the baby'I didn't expect that he'd bring so many though'' she laughed 'And Virat too'See how much toys they've brought? Our husbands are crazy''
'That is true. The baby wouldn't even need so many things. Why do I get the feeling that my son or daughter will be extremely spoilt?' She sighed.
'C'mon di, you know that you'll be the one who will pamper chutku and chutki the most!'
Jeevika still didn't know how Manvi was already so sure about the baby's gender. Twins, she said. Jeevika herself didn't even think about if the baby would be a boy or a girl, let alone twins.
Viren had eventually managed to fix the old parts of the same cot that both he and Virat had slept in. They spent the next few weeks recreating the room for the soon to be born child and they both looked back at the completely transformed nursery.
It was perfect, absolutely perfect.

Once that had been done, she noticed that everyone became more protective towards her and Viren especially, he was very protective.
Too protective.
She groaned at that. It really was getting on her nerves now.
He just insisted that he would cook food for her.
'But why?'
'Jeevika, it's not like I can't cook. Why shouldn't I? I want to cook for my wife, that's why?' He said.
She looked at Manvi, hoping that she could make her crazy husband understand.
'Okay.' She couldn't believe her.
Jeevika glared. 'But-'
'If you want to embarrass yourself, it's fine!' She shrugged. Now that was more like her.
'Why would he get embarrassed? It's not like men can't cook. See how many male chefs there are out there.' Virat piped in, in support of his brother.
'Please! You two have never entered a kitchen in your lives before'and no, that time when you made the cake does not count, I gave you the instructions, otherwise you would've messed up that cake.'
'Bhai. I'm helping you cook.' Virat said.
'We'll prove both of you wrong.' Viren said so surely.
It took a lot of effort, a lot of flour, a lot of time, and Jeevika was really curi0us. She knew that they both would only end up with something inedible, something burnt, or something that was completely messed up.
But then, he walked in, with that silly chef hat, God knew where he even found it, hanging lopsidedly off his head.
He never looked so happy than he had then.
He had a triumphant grin on his face as he held up his dish, only 1 she noticed, and put it down on the table.
He looked so pleased with himself.
She admitted that it was alright. But she knew that this was what she could prepare in under 30 minutes.
Manvi left her company to see what Virat had made; undoubtedly it was to the same standard as his brother.
'Well? I told you, didn't I?' He smirked.
She smiled up at him 'Okay, okay! You can cook! I was wrong!'
'Eat it then!'
'Won't you eat it as well? After all, you made so much of an effort. It's your first dish, Viren ji!'
'Nah, I'll let you enjoy it.'
The first few bites of it were fine, but then by the middle, the more she ate, the more she felt like spitting it all out. He must have noticed because he insisted that he have a bite. Despite her saying that she really liked it, he kept on bothering her until she gave in.
Oh damn.
'Let's see what you like so much about this'' he took a bite. 'It's fine.' And took a few more bites. And a few more when he realized the taste was getting worse. 'Jeevika! Ew! How could you eat this? You could have told me! I would've got you something else!'
'It's fine Viren ji. Honest. You've made it with so much love, why wouldn't it be.' He smiled at her.
'Jeevika...You're so filmy...You should've just told me you didn't like it. What do you really want? I'll make it up to you.'
'Ice cream! And pickle! Though not at the same time.' She excitedly said. He chuckled. She got what she desired.
