For the rest of the family to continue the pretence that Khushi feel alien in his room, he started its renovation according to her likes. They have to move out the stuff in his room and Khushi was helping Anjali doing it,

She opened his closet to take out all his clothes and some of his files which he had kept in the safe.

"Di where is the key of this safe?" Khushi asked after removing the clothes and now she wanta to take the files out but the safe was lock

Anjali who was taking the curtains out of the room turned and shook her head, "Chotte keep the key with himself, I don't know" Anjali moved out and Khushi still searched hoping that she may find the keys

She found some keys in the side drawer. She came to the safe and checked all of them one by one, frustrated she was about to give up when a key moved in and the safe was open

She opend the safe and was shocked to see the stuff in, two black diaries, some dried roses, a few cards, and some receipts. If she didn't know Arnav well it wasn't hard for her to believe her eyes. The safe was giving a look like a lover has safely kept the belongings of his love

With shaking hands Khushi took the greeting cards in his hand

She opened the one

"Dear Pari,

Happy Birthday"

Some 14 cards were like this and 5 or 6 cards with;

"To my Pari

Happy Valentine's Day

With love

--------- Arnav"

Astounded, Khushi placed the cards back and took one of the diary in her hands, She was about to open it when it's been snatched harshly. Afraid she turned and there he was standing, staring her with a gaze she was quite familiar but not used to it anymore because of his caring

"What are you doing?" When he spoke his voice was as cold as her eyes and it scared her

"Wo … woh ….. Hum …. I ….."

Unhearing her, he moved forward and placed the diary back in the safe. Now they were facing each other's backs

"I …. I am sorry" Closing her eyes she pleaded fearfully as she knew his anger very well

"Did you have your lunch?" Khushi opened her eyes shocked a bit at the unexpected question

He was ignoring the topin so she decided not to budge with it anymore and shook her head

She heard his sigh and the felt his hands holding hers

"Come" She left with him thinking about wha she just came to know few minutes back,

"Who is Pari? Did ... " She thought to herself as she kept staring at his back following him, "Does he love someone?"

Rest of the day Arnav behaved normal with her as if he didn't see her seeing those greeting cards. Khushi was confused, was Pari the reason he hates …. No he said, he never hate her …. Perhaps she was the reason of his disliking towards her. Some cards were very old, maybe from his school days, so it means he had a heart break during his school, she concluded and it somehow calmed her mind.

Khushi reminded Arnav for the 15th time that he should come home early for the dinner as Lavanya and Anuj will be arriving at 6:00 pm in the evening.

"Please come in time" As she spoke once again, he turned towards her a bit irritated

"I think I should stay home to welcome the queen Elizebeth" Khushi gets offended at him for mocking her friend

"She is my friend and I told you that you don't have to see her daily, it's just for today that I …." Her eyes filled with tears and Arnav forgot his teasings

"Ok … ok now please don't cry, I am staying home to help you" Khushi forgetting her weeping stared him with her mouth wide open, she forgot to even blink

"Now what?" Arnav though knowing the reason but still he asked

"Aap …. Aap humaare saath rukain ge? (You'll stay with me)"

"Yeah is there any problem?" Khushi unable to speak just shook her head

"Aakash please try to do as I said ….. I'll tell the reason later …… Just get him engage anywhere, in any work possible ….. Thanks" He disconnected the call and as he turned, for a moment he forgot to breathe, what if she had heard everything

"Kisko busy rakhna hai? (Whom you want to keep busy?)" Khushi asked smilingly and he sighed in relief

"Nothing, just talking to Aakash about an office deal" Arnav said, "You need something?"

"Yes" She nodded, "Can you get a chocolate cake?"

"Of course" Slightly patting her cheeks, he left from there while Khushi kept standing there thinking about his strange behavior. He was right at first, she has heard their conversation, He asked Aakash to keep Shyam busy in office, but why? Maybe he doesn't want to make her feel uncomfortable around her friends

Arnav was indeed a mystery for her

All were sitting in the living area chatting with each other. Anjali was trying to recall where she had seen Lavanya before and Lavanya was continuously denying her, saying they met for the first time

"Di Lavanya is right, how can you see her before? She came back from London after five years when I first met her" Khushi smilingly took her side

Arnav was conversing with Anuj as for now he is the only man to give him company, Aakash and NK were still at work. The way they were talking with ease Khushi once again felt like they knew each other but she shrugged it off as soon she reminded how Di mistook that Lavanya and she met before

"I think we should go for the dinner now" Khushi along with Anjali left for the kitchen to set the table, she offered Lavanya to join but she refused saying she'll be sitting here with Anuj

"Dinner is re….." Khushi came again and her smile immediately dropped seeing Shyam entering through the front door with a sickening smirk on his face

Arnav to know why she stopped in between turned his face and in a moment get it. Getting up from his seat, he came to her and hold her hand firmly, it is then Khushi came back to her senses, she for once looked up at him, care is the only thing she could see in his eyes

A smile touched her lips and gaining her confidence back she spoke, "Lavanya, Anuj come dinner is ready"

Saying it she turned her face to Shyam to clearly see his face falling and she knew it was because he cannot see her moving on, but she was wrong, yes Shyam was shocked but he was shocked to hear the names of the persons

"La … Lavanya" He muttered
