PART 11

The husky voice entering her ear drums drived her crazy. He had the similar effect from the honey coated voice of hers. Both of them let out a sweet smile before they could fall deep into their dreamworld.

Arnav : How are you today Khushi?

Khushi : I am fine.. What about you? You seem to look tired Arnavji..

Arnav : yea. A busy day at office,it happens.

Khushi : Did you have food?

Arnav: Yea.. I finished my dinner so early that I wont feel hungry during our chat. I had to consume four cups black tea because of my lovely brother who took his sweet time to bring you for the chat...

Khushi : Arnavji.. I told you na... You should be careful about your health..

Arnav : Yea.. I am taking care of my health offlate.

Khushi understood the meaning that it was because of her that he is taking care of his health which made her smile like a proud wife having the full authority on her husband and his health.

Arnav : Are you angry that I didnt call you yesterday?

Khushi : No. But I missed hearing your voice yesterday.

Arnav : Missed? Hmm.. thats nice to hear. Atleast some one is there to miss me..

Khushi : aw... Di and everyone in the family miss you so much too..

Arnav: wow.. Supporting the whole family leaving me alone?

Khushi : oh no. If I support the family then wont you support me?

Arnav had a good laugh at her intelligent emotional blackmail😉. He liked the way she answers.

Arnav: I agree Khushi you are smart.

Khushi: thank you so much for the compliment.

The words they exchanged were unconsciously continuing one after the other. It was because of their comfort that they attained due to the phone chat. Both of them didnt fail to notice each other's reaction on how they express while talking normally. The words come in their flow but they havent witnessed each other's expression while conveying each and every word. For Arnav it was like looking at a small kid. Her innocence and cute expressions on her face elated his heart to the paradise. Purity in heart, straight forwardness and genuine feelings were clearly visible from her actions. For Khushi his expressive eyes looking at hers indicating he is focussed while talking. His actions are subtle unlike hers but his talks are so meaningful and all the more very naughty too.

Meeting through an artificial medium might be a only possible way for them now but the more satisfaction and contentment both of them experienced was incomparable. They were capturing each and every expression and storing inside their heart which would prove the only source of relishing memories when they close their eyes thinking of each other.

Arnav : How was the shagun function Khushi?

Khushi : It was very nice. All of them enjoyed. Nani and Di gave me lots of gifts. I loved them very much. Madhu too selected a dress for me it seems. She was very delighted in presenting it to me and her selection was superb.. A bright red colour lehenga..

Arnav : ah' then I am lucky.

Khushi : Lucky why?

Arnav: You would surely like whatever I select too then.. She knows my selection and red is my favorite colour.

Khushi's mention of the dress she received saying it is same as his selection made her face shine with the same favourite colour of her fiance. Arnav didn't miss this Red effect on her cheeks and loved it more. He so felt he could cup those cheeks marking it as his own property. Khushi started to continue the topic before blushing in brick red colour.

Khushi: The function went on very well. Many relatives were present. Arnavji, I met Lavanya also. She was busy in taking pictures and video but she came before leaving and apologised to me. I could talk to her ony for sometime.She smiled at me which I feel she doesn't hold any disappointment or grudge against me. I felt bad that I couldn't spend time with her more. Thanks Arnavji without you this wouldn't have been possible.

Arnav : Hey that's great. So you both reconciled is it? I asked her to say sorry to you but didn't expect she would do it so fast. That's good.. Hope she gets better now and feel happy . Things are not proper in her life Khushi. I might need your help.

Khushi : Arnavji.. why do you call it as my help? Its my duty. I will be there with you for everything be it your happiness or worries..

Those words came out of her mouth spontaneously. It meant a lot to him. True that he had an understanding family but he hadnt heard a word of comfort and assurance from anyone. There were times when he wanted to share his worries and tensions. He was relucting it to share with his di or his brother only for the fact that his worries and tensions shouldn't affect their happiness. Now he has a person to rely upon, to shower his love exclusively, someone close to heart like his mother to surrender himself at the time of happiness and sadness equally.

Arnav : Thanks Khushi.. that word meant a lot to me.

Khushi: Arnavji.. you said no thanks giving between us..

Arnav : Uh.. Yea.. Hey you promised me to tell something during our chat . Do you remember?

Khushi ( thinking) : What ?? what did I promise?

Arnav ( smirking) :hmm.. are you..

Arnav heard his calling bell ringing and got startled.

Arnav (mindvoice) : Damn this disturbance' Who the hell has come now?

Arnav : Yeah Khushi.. did you forget what you promised?

Khushi : Arnavji, I think someone is ringing the bell. Didn't you go and check?

Arnav : Forget it. Let them get tired by ringing, disturbing at night.. that too interference while chatting with you, I don't like anyone to intrude in our privacy.

Khushi controlled her blushing laugh..

Khushi : Aww that's so mean Arnavji. Just go and check na..

Arnav was amused to see her concern for the unknown person's difficulty in waiting outside. Suddenly his mobile was seen vibrating. He had kept it silent before hand as not to get disturbed in between the chat. That proved to him as a blessing in disguise to make sure to Abhay that he was not at home.Abhay's name flashed across the screen. He excused himself and took the call.

Abhay : Hey Arnie.. where are you man? I have been ringing your flat bell for a long time.

Arnav: ( long time. Just 30 sec only. He is the expert in lying. He thought ) Abhi.. I am at my office. I had an overnight meeting on my project still not returned home.

Abhay : Oh.. I thought you are at home.. Ok.. I will come tomorrow. So hows the Courtship period going on?

Arnav ( trying to cut the talks) : Abhi, I will call you tomorrow. I am in an important meeting yaar. Bye..

Arnav kept the call and looked at Khushi who was smiling at him for his instant ideas on how to avert disturbances from their talk.

Khushi : Arnavji.. why did you lie?

Arnav :Oh come on Khushi.. It is not a lie. A lie is something which shouldn't harm anyone I believe. He has just come for his time pass here and I don't want him to disturb our precious time. I rarely get this opportunity. You have come for me after asking permission from your parents and I don't want to waste your time.Dont worry I can meet him tomorrow also.

Khushi smiled at his posessivness and concern.

Khushi :Arnavji.. you are very nice'

Arnav : hmm'only nice? What else do you think about me?

Khushi : You are very kind hearted, very smart, adorable, sweet and..

Khushi was counting with her fingers and thinking by keeping her fingers on her chin as his niece would do to him when he asks her questions.

Arnav : And'.

Khushi : hmmm' very considerate, helpful, good, affectionate'

Arnav : And'

Khushi : hmm.. I have told all the good qualities Arnavji..

Arnav felt he hadnt heard or known for himself he had so much of qualities hidden in him. He was surprised how she could understand him within such a short span of time? He continued to tease her more not to hear about his qualities but the cute expressive face, moving ear lobes while laughing and her eyebrow changing its position from time to time. Her million dollar smile melted his heart.

Arnav : That's all? Ok tell me what do you like the most ?

Khushi couldn't control her blush. She tried not to look at his eyes while answering. She closed her eyes. She opened to meet his eyes.

Khushi : I don't wish to segragate any quality in you to like and love. I love you as your wholeself Arnavji..

Arnav was astonished hearing this sudden confession.He didn't expect it to come so soon that too from a simple,traditional, shy and subtle character like Khushi. He was totally speechless..Her eyes opened to feel the happy tear flowing through her reddish cheeks which Arnav felt he could wipe it off by his thumb. He gulped down his emotions. The feeling of solitude which he had felt in US all these years vanished for the one word she had told him..

Arnav : I too love you Khushi.. You are really a wonderful creation. No one can be so simple, so cute, very understanding, conservative and so much innocence in you.I loved the way you confronted Lavanya when she was wrong, I love the way how you wanted to apologise to her even at her mistake, love the way how you love my family as yours, love how you take care of me. Love you Khushi, more than that I miss you being with me. Just one prayer to God and my parents that I would like to live with you, for you forever and ever.

Her tears which was at the brim started to roll over her smiling cheeks continously which Arnav couldn't tolerate.

Arnav : Please I don't like to see that tears coming out even for any happy moment. You are mine and I wont let you get worried at any time.

Khushi : No .. I wont cry anymore. Why should I cry? When you are there for me..

They both had shared a laugh.. Arnav decided to change the topic..

Arnav : See I forgot to ask about Papa, amma and buaji.. Are they happy after the function?

Khushi :All are fine.. They are very happy except the fact that we all missed my brother NK..

Arnav : Yea Khushi.. I forgot to ask you about him as well. Where is he now? I havent had any talk with him. What is he doing now?

Khushi: Yea.. I havent told you much about him. His name is Nandkishore. He was here till last week. He was searching for job after his degree. Papa was a bit disappointed with him for not being responsible so he left for Mumbai to fetch a job. He is very nice. I miss him so much now. We used to fight like kids at home. But I always loved him around. Such a nice brother he is.

Arnav: hmm. Don't worry he will succeed in his endeavour soon. Anyways can meet him for the marriage.

Khushi : Yea.. I too wish he gets a job and make everyone in the family proud and happy. I am expecting him to come for the marriage.

Arnav: Khushi. Is there anything you want to know about me? I mean you have seen my family apart from that any other matters.. I hope all my academics and professional details my di would have furnished on the first day. My other likes are : I like to read a lot, most of time I spend my time in office only.I used to play football and I used to learn music also. Its been years I left all my sports and music passion after I came to US. I love homely food and I am a better cook only for myself. I have many friends and I chat with them when I get time.I love to close my eyes and think about those golden moments I spent with my family. I usually feel so lonely here that's the reason I divert myself towards work. When I visit there, I love to spend time with Nani, I play with Madhu, I roam around with Aki and Lavanya. I love to eat together with all the family members present. I respect and love my mamaji and mamiji like my parents because they were the reason for me to reach this position in my life. More than monetary support you need the moral support to come up in life Khushi.. The thing I hate the most in me is if I get angry I cant control myself. It rarely happens with my closed ones.

Khushi was hearing with all her attention to understand him more. She was very happy to hear about him.

Arnav: I think it was an over explanation about me.. So u tell me your likes.. I wanna know more about you..

Khushi : Hmm I love my family. Papa is a bit strict but he loves me so much. Amma, buaji, NK and I have many friends Arnavji.. They all are eager to see our marriage. I like to dance, I love to play with kids. I love pets. Madhu has even asked me to come and meet her new friends. I don't cook much. But I make my all time favourite jalebis, if I feel sad or happy I will make jalebis and have it. I like golgappe too. I study like a normal student but will make sure that I don't miss out any exams and will try to score good marks. That's all. I try to adapt and understand everyone which I feel would reduce most of the misconception about each other.

Arnav : That's nice' So you told me about your friends.. Do you remember that you would tell me about how I look to you?

Khushi understood what he is asking her about.

Arnav : Fine I understand' I guess you didn't like my looks. Sorry Khushi I made you disappoint..

Khushi : No..No ' Arnavji' How can I say it on your face that you look so hot and handsome making me faint with your looks..

Khushi closed her mouth with her hand for letting out her emotion accidentally.He was creating a blushing effect on her with his lop sided smile.

Arnav: Thanks' Glad that I make such an effect on you same like the effect your looks make on me..

She couldn't hide her shyness and decided to look at him straight at his face for his constant teasing.Arnav could see his cute tigress getting angry for teasing her too much.

But their trance and further conversation was interrupted by a knock on the door by his brother Akash and Payal.

Akash came inside and waved his hand through the webcam to his bro who had a frown on is face for disturbing. Akash took the microphone and talked to him

Akash : Bhai' enough '. You have still 5 months left.. don't finish your talks today itself. What will you talk during the rest of the chats? Its been 2 hours since I picked my bhabhi from her house. Now your father in law will question me..

Arnav ( gritting his teeth) :2 hours? Don't tell me .. You wasted my precious one hour for taking Khushi on your stupid office tour as if it was so necessary today..

Payal and Khushi understood that Arnav was angry for Akash's disturbance and were controlling their laughter. Akash felt a little embarassed and faked a smile.

Akash : Ok.. sorry bhai.. did you both discuss about our matter? By the way I didn't introduce Payal to you..

Payal waved her hands to which Arnav acknowledged with a smile.

Arnav : Oops. I forgot. Ok you go out. Let me discuss that with her for the next one hour.

Akash : What? Next one hour.. No way! You didn't talk about us for even one minute. That's so rude bhai..

Arnav (irritated) : Yea' I need time to discuss first.And its not like you and Payal Akash. We are meeting for the first time. We have thousands things to discuss. Tell me would you be talking about your office commitments when you meet Payal? Don't you understand my feelings dammit? I was about to take up ur matter slowly but Why did you all of a sudden gave an unnotified entry?

Akash : Okay, okay. You can continue the discussion later bhai. Its getting late. I have to drop both of them and pick up Di from temple. I will leave now. If bhabhi didn't come outside within 5 mts then you can expect another entry by me and Payal.

Arnav : Thanks now you may leave. I will call you at night brother and be ready for a blast on your ear.

Akash understood his grave situation and left the room with Payal bidding a bye to Arnav. Arnav smiled at her and Khushi came back with her microphone..

Khushi : Arnavji.. Akashji Payal matter what will we do now?

Arnav : Relax Khushi.. I will tell you about that when I call you.

Khushi : Anyways you have some way na? I will also think about other options..

Arnav : So.. how was the first virtual meet?

Khushi: I m very happy Arnavji. Thank you so much

Arnav : So take care, do well in your culturals. Study well too. I will call you at night and talk about other things.

Khushi : Sure.

Arnav : So anything missing?

Khushi : umm.. what Arnavji, you asked me the same during our talk also'

Arnav ( smirking) : Leave it nothing.

Khushi : No.. I want to know what it was.. please tell me..

Arnav: Guess it Khushi '

Khushi : hmm.. I don't know.. You tell me..

Arnav: Since you are still a small baby .. a sweet flying kiss on your colourful cheek.. Keep it in store till the next chat.

He gave a flying kiss and winked at her.

Khushi's jaw dropped seeing his open flirting more and more blush made him laugh at her.

Khushi : Arnavji.. I didn't expect this..

Arnav: See I got a negative point among the good qualities you listed today

Khushi ( with her naughty twinkled eyes ) : When did I say it's a negative point or a bad quality?

Arnav : oh really ? then give me back what I gave you?

Khushi : No.. that's not easy as you think. Okay its getting late Arnavji.. Let me leave.

Arnav : Are you so eager to leave me?

Khushi felt a tug when she heard the word leave. Her face looked dull and she wasn't able to talk to him. Arnav could feel the pain in the heart.

Khushi: No I didn't mean that but..

Arnav :Ok.. I was just kidding.. You leave' I will call you at night. You take care..

Khushi: Please go and sleep properly. You look so tired.. I should hear an energetic voice.

Arnav : ah.. You are my energy booster. So don't worry about that.

Khushi : Enough.. I m leaving take care.. Bye..

Arnav : You too.. bye..

Both pair of eyes met again for the last time didn't want to part. If life had given you choices to select the best, we might or might not end up in selecting the best but if life had selected the best for you, it will surely be the best fortune you might end up with.

Arnav closed his laptop and tried to get sleep as he had to finish work at office the next day and inform about his proper rest to his sweet heart'
