Okay pre-warning: I can barely write anything after watching the VirMan dance sequence because I'm basically dead so good luck with making any sense out of this. I just re-read the update, SO pathetic. Not happy with it but I'm sorry. I don't want to keep you all waiting any longer. Plus, I'm so busy that I know this will not get any better if I re-write it anyway. Oh well' hope it's decent enough 😆
As I am keeping busy I will not be sending PMs for this update. So don't fret, nobody has gotten a PM.
Chapter 31: The unsolvable equation
That was the last time he would ever see her, could ever see her. It was not that he would not get the chance to look at her again; it was just that he knew he would not have the courage. Going into that room where she lay was the most frightening thing he had done in his entire life. Of course, if she'd still been alive the pleasure he would have seeing her would be inevitable, but the situation was entirely upside down.
No Virat. You need to be strong. The one that's with you needs you. You can't let her death bring you down. She needs you. He failed to understand why encouraging himself never worked, and then he understood. There was only one person on Earth could make his day; change his tears into smiles and sadness into happiness. He had to go to her, she was the only way out of this maze' she was the only one who could save him.
He opened the door to her room; she had simply become more beautiful. The rays of the sun bathed her body where she lay. So beautiful.
'Virat, are you okay?' Viren was sympathetic, understanding.
'Is she okay?' Virat asked, pointing towards the bed. Viren nodded. 'Then I'm okay too,' Virat whispered.
Viren smiled, 'She's sleeping. You can wake her up.' Virat nodded as Viren left the room. Virat lay beside her, gently caressing her in his arms. He kissed her forehead. She moved, a little and she did his entire body tensed. He wanted to run away, he didn't have the strength to look at her. No, no Virat you have to stay, she needs you. She opened her eyes, slowly, and she did he pulled her a little closer hoping it would make things easier for them. Her eyes were open fully now, she smiled when she saw him.
Stroking a few strands of hair off her face he whispered her name as it were a feeling coming from his heart, as if it brought his entire world back together' as it were his only hope, 'Maanvi' ' He secured his lips against hers. He needed to feel her breath, her warmth, her love. After everything that had happened fear had torn him apart and he needed her to find the pieces of his life and fit them back together. At that exact moment Virat knew that he would never feel as strongly for anyone else in the world as he did for her. She meant everything to him' an everything that was undefinable to everyone but him.
'Thank you Virat, for saving her,' Maanvi whispered. At that exact point in time Virat's entire world collapsed. Did her really have to tell her, devastate her with the truth, drown her in misery? 'Have you thought of a name?' she asked.
He ignored the topic, 'How did you know it was a girl?'
'I don't know' I just did. I recognised her,' Maanvi smiled. 'Have you thought of a name?' she asked again, hopeful.
'Aahana,' he replied, weak. That's when she saw it, the tear that escaped his eye. Something was wrong, terribly wrong. She could just tell; from his expressionless face, his pain filled year and his tone of voice.
'Virat?' she asked, concern tensing her entire body.
'Maanvi, Aahana' '
'Virat?' He didn't respond. 'Virat?!!'
'She's gone,' he said, weakness filled his voice.
'Virat, where's my daughter?' He didn't reply. 'Virat?! Where's my daughter?!' Silence echoed in the room, so soft that it perished them both. 'I want to see her, now.'
'No,' Virat stopped her, immediately.
'Virat-'
'I love you,' he whispered, 'more than anything else.'
'No. Virat where's our daughter? Where is she?'
He tightened his hold on her. 'I would never let you leave me.'
'Virat where is she?!' Maanvi asked with no end to the eagerness in her voice.
'Maanvi, my love for you was, is and always will be.'
'Tell me where she is!!' her strength shattered, tears fell.
'I couldn't let you go, I just couldn't.'
'Virat, please,' she cried.
'So I held on to you and let her go back to the God who loved her ever so much.'
'Virat!' she screamed, 'Enough!' she pushed him away and got off the bed, helpless as ever. 'Where is my daughter?!' Maanvi's voice was filled with fear; there was nothing else to it. 'Where is she?!' She ran to him, cupping his face. She was so sure he'd never let anything happened to their daughter, never. 'Virat you saved her, didn't you? She's here somewhere, isn't she? Virat, please' she's here, isn't she?'
Virat nodded as Maanvi familiarised herself with hope once again. He took her hand and rested it against her heart. 'She's here,' he whispered.
'No!' she pulled back immediately, 'No!! Why don't you try to understand Virat?!' she screamed, 'I want to see my daughter! Virat I need to see her before I die.'
He indignantly lifted her chin up so her eyes met his. 'You are not dying. Did you hear me? You are not dying!'
She finally understood what he'd done. She hated him. 'You killed her,' she whispered, 'Virat you killed her!' she yelled. Viren and Jeevika came in the room hearing Maanvi's voice. 'You all knew! You knew what he was going to do yet none of you tried to stop him! You let him kill her!' A helpless Maanvi cried as she collapsed to the floor, 'Virat you killed our daughter.'
'I killed her,' he repeated, his voice soft, emotionless. He kneeled besides her trying to bring her in his arms. She pushed away his hands immediately.
'Leave, Virat,' Virat didn't move, 'JUST GO!' she screamed, pushing him away.

He aimlessly walked a path with no end' no destination. In losing his daughter, he had his wife too. The tears streaming down his cheeks bled straight from his heart. If only he could save them both, if only achievements and punishments could make compromises, if only he could sacrifice his life to save them both. Life seemed meaningless, pointless, baseless and loveless. He could not solve the equation written in front of him. He did not know what to do. There was only one thing he knew, he loved her and he would never let her go.
