As soon as Arnav heard those words, Arnav jumped up to see his Di's lawyer and wife's brother staring at each other with disbelief. Arnav frowned. Raghav Kapoor? OF COURSE! Wasn't Khushi and Anand's father's name Raghav Kapoor! Anand wiped his tears and turned to Arnav. "Arnav, this is my father Raghav Kapoor!" "Dad, where were you all these years!" Anand asked. "Af-After Pari and Purnima left me I could not bear to be living there! You were old enough and I knew you could take care of yourself and-" Anand cut him off. "Dad, Ma and Pari are alive." "WHAT!" "Yes Uncle. Mallik lied to you." Anand said bitterly. "But Ma is in a coma ever since Pari left. I mean, Mallik lied to Ma that Pari died and in the shock Ma went into a coma. And I was in London, so Garima Mausi took Pari in." "What, Garima? I must thank her. How is my Princess? How does she look?" Raghav asked emotionally. "She looks like Ma Dad and-" Arnav cut off Anand. "She looks beautiful!" Arnav took out his wallet and showed a picture of Khushi with Arshi and Navi. Raghav caressed the photo. "She looks so much like Purnima and are they my grandchildren?" he said softly. Then he frowned. "How is her picture in your wallet?" "She is my wife Uncle" Arnav smiled. "My angel is married and I have grandchildren! Oh Lord, I have missed so much in these years! Take me to her and-" He stopped suddenly. "Wait a minute, you said she is your wife?" "Yes..." Arnav said hesitantly. "You even charged that Jha for having manhandled YOUR wife six years back. Does that mean he..." he left the question hanging, fury in his voice was evident. Arnav closed his eyes in pain and nodded once. His eyes flew open when he heard Raghav growl "Anand, leave it to me. I know it is not correct to mix professional to mix work with personal life, but I will make sure Jha sees hell for having even lain his eyes on daughter! And then you will take me to my Princess!" Just then Arnav's phone rang. Excusing himself, he went out. "Dad, he is Mallik's son." Anand said. Raghav froze. "WHAT! How could you allow Khushi to marry him and I can't believe I helped out Malliks! And-" "Dad, Dad. Calm down. Sit down...There is a lot more to it." Anand told Raghav everything about Arnav and Khushi's life. Raghav sighed in defeat. "He really does love her doesn't he?" "Yes Dad. He is nothing like Mallik. He is Ratna Aunty's son through and through. Pari loves him too." "But you said she doesn't remember?" "Dad, she just forgot she loves him. But the feelings are there. She loves someone, but she doesn't know its him..." At RM Khushi was combing Arshi's hair. She could still feel the heat of his lips on her cheeks and forehead. Why was she so familiar with this house and people? She was sure that this place and its people were a part of her past... But wasn't this Jiji's family... "Mamma?" Arshi called. "Yes baby?" Arshi propped herself on her knees, with her elbows on Khushi's knees. "Can we stay here forever and ever?" Khushi shook her head. "We have to leave to Mumbai in another week at most. What about your school, hm? Besides, what if your Papa comes home and finds it locked?" Arshi facepalmed and ran out shaking her head. Khushi sighed. Her husband...where was he? Why wasn't he coming home? Why hadn't he bothered to visit her even once in five years? Was he even alive? Why didn't her mind want to remember him? Was he that bad? But... There were sweet memories too weren't they...? She rubbed her temples to calm her frenzied mind... Why did she always feel this way after being touched by Jiji's dewar ArnavJI? And why did his name feel so familiar to her lips? She fell on the bed on her back and closed her eyes. She felt guilty about liking his touch...she was married for God's sake! And had two children with her husband! She sincerely hoped that this was not love... She heard someone coming and she sat up. "Arey, Anjaliji?" "Oh Khushiji. Here are you clothes. Please put them back in the cupboard." Anjali handed over a pile of neatly ironed clothes to Khushi from another pile (others clothes) and turned to leave. "Maaa!!! Where is Anand Uncle!" Little Khushi stormed inside. "Beta, he and your Mamu went for work. "Now move aside?" Anjali said, peering at her daughter over the stack of clothes in her hand. "Ma, play with me!" she said bossily. "Khushi, I have work. I have to put your Mamu's clothes in his room and then go down to the kitchen!" Anjali said. "Pwease Ma? Pwitty Pwease?" "Khushi, I-" "Anjaliji, you go with Khushi. I will put the clothes in their respective rooms." Khushi offered, getting up. Anjali smiled. "Oh, ok. Thanks Khushiji. The black, grey, white and brown ones on the topmare Chhote's and the pale colors are Nani's and the rainbows are-" "Mamiji's" Khushi finished smiling. Anjali laughed and handed over the clothes to Khushi and went out with Little Khushi. Khushi went to Arnav's room last. She opened his cupboard and carefully placed his clothes in his cuboard. She turned to leave when she saw a familiar, flat rectangular box of dark blue color. The familiarity of it drew her to it. |
