Chapter Twenty Three
He sat at his desk sipping his cup of coffee, his eyes scurrying at her desk in the corner of his cabin. He dint realize he would miss her so much. He shouldn't have sent her for that shoot at Panvel with the rest of the crew. He should have called her here instead. Maybe given her some paperwork so she would be at the desk…in front of him. But he knew if he hadn't told her about an outdoor shoot she would never have agreed to work on her day off. Not that he gave her any chance to disagree. But then why did he feel like an A class jerk? He should be glad she wasn't spending her weekend with Shivam. God only knows what a huge favor he had done for the silly girl. Shivam was a bloody womanizer! He would go bird hunting like he was changing his underpants every day. What was she thinking making plans with him? And this had nothing to do with what he felt for her. He was just trying to save her nothing else.
There was a knock at the door and he sat up straight, hopeful that she would be here. Before he could ask the person outside to come in, Sharon breezed in with a folder in her hand. Banging the huge piece of binder on his desk, she stood in front of him with her arms crossed, watching him.
"What?" He asked when she just stood there not uttering a word. "Why are you glaring at me like that?"
"How could you?"
"How could I what Sharon?"
"There was Mini, Vishal, Jenil, Abha…. Everyone working today. And I just see them sitting at their tables warming their seats and you send Kria for the shoot?"
"Listen Sharon dont…." He had a warning note in his voice but she dint care. "Why are you troubling her? What have you got against her? Is it because I asked you to hire her and you dint want her?"
"Sharon, what are you talking about… I never….."
"I've seen you troubling her time and again…. making her do odd jobs that she is not even assigned for… over working the poor girl. You know she is new, at least give her chance to prove herself."
"And that's exactly what I'm doing." Reyaansh got off his chair and walked up to Sharon. "I'm getting her ready for this hectic life. Hell Sharon, you have worked day and night. You know how it is to survive here. Are you telling me your friend is not capable to do all that?"
Sharon stood up straight, pointing a finger at him "Don't put this on me, Rey. She is doing her every bit and I'm proud of her. And trust me she is one talented, vicious tigress who can take any of your competent directors down."
"Oh is that so? Is that why she came crawling to you begging you to talk to me to go easy on her?" He was starting to seriously get pissed off here. He was trying to save her from that dirtbag and she goes about telling people what a cruel, horn-headed stiff he was?
"If that was so I would have called you last night itself. This morning she said she was leaving for the shoot instead of going to meet her mom." Reyaansh looked confused. She was going to meet her mom? But he had heard Sivam and her talking about a trip together to Pune. Wait….. Pune? Oh darn! Pune! Why hadn't he thought of that?
"…. And she was really looking forward to it. She hasn't seen her mother in months. And this was the only weekend she had in hand since she's going to be working every other weekend, thanks to you."
He felt like a prick. He really hadn't considered her going to see her mom. All he was with in his nut of a head was she and Shivam with each other. "Sharon, I dint know."
"Of course u dint. I'm sure you never let her tell you. But let me clear this Rey… You must be our boss but Kria is like my little sister and no one messes with my family." And with that she turned on her heels and walked out, with a mute Rey watching her go.
"Thanks for the warning." He muttered to himself. Fishing for his phone from his pocket he quickly dialed a number.

Kria was helping Alex with the camera lenses when his shrilling ringtone went off. She eyed him with a wary look. "You have that Desi boyz song as your ringtone?"
"No hun…. This one is just for Rey." He flashed his phone at her that said, 'Hunk calling' which made Kria roll her eyes and she walked away giving Alex his privacy for his desi boy. Besides she did not even want to be near a satellite-away-Rey. She went to Manish, their designer to see if the models were ready for the take. After sometime she heard Alex muttering some curses, coming up to her.
"What is it Alex? Did he bite you?"
"No! He wasn't us to pack up."
Kria looked taken aback, "Pack up? Why?"
"He says he's not happy with the location and wants us to shift it to another resort"
Now Kria was highly confused, "Another resort? But what is the matter with this one?" She asked, spreading her arms around at the place.
"He dint say."
Oh what was that man's problem? First he ruins her holiday and now the shoot? She would never understand him! "So now what?"
"Now we pack up and go home. We'll need a day or two to find another suitable location."
So that's it? They had been wasting their precious time on nothing? She wished Rey was here to bang his head somewhere till he lay in every ounce of his blood.
She turned to get her bag to go home when Alex stopped her. "Oh ya and Kria….. Rey wants you to go with him to see some new locations…. He'll pick you up in 15min."

Sharon was making a call with one of their clients when Purple, RS Agency's top model barged inside without even knocking at the door.
"I just cannot stand that guy!" She yelled, making Sharon wince. She excused her caller and promised she would call back as soon as she could.
"What is it Purple?" She hated being interrupted at work prior any appointments. And Purple was an airhead with whom she could not stand being in the same room even for a second.
"That Swayam…." Sharon rolled her eyes and sat back. It definitely had to be him. "He called me…. Called me a…. a…. duckface!" she screeched, flailing her arms around. "I mean look at the nerve! I'm the top model of this agency and he called me a duckface?"
Really? He did that? Wow! The guy sure did have guts to mess around with women. But to think of it, he wasn't entirely wrong. She did pout a little too much than was necessary on screen. Folding her hands on her desk, Sharon put up a straight face waiting for Purple to go on.
"He said I needed to mellow down with my pout and when I threw some obnoxious words at him, he said I was a…."
"Duckface." Sharon finished nodding her head and trying really hard not to laugh.
"Yes! I can't work with him! I want him to apologize or I quit!"
"Now calm down Purple." Sharon said, "There is absolutely no need to over react. You said some words, he got back at you."
"But at least I did not insult his livelihood." Sharon looked confused with what she was trying to say here. Purple pointed a finger at her face, "This is my livelihood."
Sharon sighed, "I know Purple. I'll go talk to him. He wouldn't point fingers at your source of income."
"Good, you do that. I'm off now, I gotta to go meet my surgeon. I have a lip job in 3 weeks!"
"Okay. Good luck with that." Sharon waved at her and thinking of getting her termination letter typed soon thanks to those future bulky lips.
But first things first… She had to go meet that big mouth and put his tongue in check.

Swayam was in the studio alone, waiting for her to come in through the door any minute. Calling Purple a duckface wasn't so bad. She needed a reality check anyway. And he knew she would go straight to her employer, Sharon. And that was exactly what he had wished for.
After a while, the woman he had been dying to lay eyes on since days finally came into view. She looked mad. As if she would bite his head off. But that just made her even more sexy. She stood before him, arms across her chest. She looked wonderful as ever in her beige skirt and white top.
"Are you done checking me out?" She mocked and his head snapped back up to look at her. He smiled but was greeted with only a cold stare. "What did you call Purple?"
The smile turned into a huge grin, "It suits her, doesn't it?"
"That's not the point!" she snapped, taking a step towards him. "How many times do I have to tell you that you are not supposed insult my models!"
She was so close he could smell her summer breeze body lotion. She looked like a school's headmistress when she scolded him like that, and to his surprise it really turned him on. Taking a step forward, he gripped her waist with his arms and pulled her closer. Her eyes turned huge when she realized what he was doing.
"Swayam what the hell are you doing?…. Let go." She warned trying to wiggle out of his embrace.
"Sharon, listen to me please, about that night…."
"It was a mistake and it shouldn't have happened." She finished before he could say anything further.
A mistake? Is that what she thought it to be? He let go of her and moved back. Shoving his hands in his pocket, he looked square in her eyes. "You think it was a mistake?"
"Yes! A mistake that I would never like to re-live."
She was regretting what happened between them? But why? As far as he thought, it had been the most amazing night of his life. She turned to walk away when he clasped her hand stopping her in her tracks. He wasn't letting her go until she answered him today.
"Why?"
"Just leave me!"
"Not unless you tell me why are you doing this to me?"
She shut her eyes, taking in a deep breath to calm her nerves. She was so exhausted fighting her feelings. Fighting them for all these years. Fighting them for all her life.
"Answer me Sharon? What are you afraid of?"
"You!" she whispered in a soft voice hardly audible to him, "Me!... Us!"
"But why?" he took her face in his hands, gently making her look into his eyes, "why are you afraid of us? We were so great together. In spite of the fact that we go for each other's throats most of the times we come face to face, you cannot deny the fact that there is a charge each time we are in the same room that pulls me towards you. And we can't deny that I want you every second of my life even when you try to run away from me. You are the most wonderful woman I have ever known and I want to know you more than anybody ever does. Just give me a chance Sharon. And tell me what's got you so worried about us?"
"Because…." She shut her eyes again not being able to look at the naked desire in his eyes, "because….. I'm falling in love with you."
