"Hey, So Rucha called and she is coming to New york for a business conference so instead of staying at the hotel I told her to stay with us. Is that fine?" No response so he continued talking "I mean we are all childhood friends so I thought it would be fine." He stopped as he realized he was just rambling and the person who was supposed to be giving a response was just staring at him with an expression he couldn't quite read. "Khushi?"

Khushistared at her husband. Was he really asking her if he could have his so called mistress stay over with them? The worst part was that he was giving the excuse of them being childhood friends. That was the last straw. She stood up with a sudden jerk, from the corner of her eye she saw him flinch back. "If you already said yes, What's the point in asking me? If I say no will you call her back and say she can't stay with us?" "Just because I don't say anything Arnav doesn't mean I don't know what's happening!" She could feel herself shaking with anger and the tears that were threatening to pour out of her eyes. "Just do whatever you want since you already make decisions about such things by yourself" She walked off to their room before her tears made their grand entrance.

Arnav was shocked. What had just happened? He replayed the events of what just happened in his head. He didn't think that she would make such a big deal about rucha staying here, She was acting as if he had invited his ex-girlfriend to come stay with them.

"So this is how it is going to be then." Khushithought. She had locked her room door and had collapsed on her bed. Usually Khushiwas a very logical person but when it came to emotions and confrontations she just could not convey her emotions as well as she wanted too. Since she was a very closed off person Khushinever felt the need to express her emotions not that she didn't have emotions. It just took a lot to get her angry or sad or basically anything besides being happy. She was just a content person which some people mistook as being a person closed off to herself. The truth was that Khushididn't have any major problems growing up unlike her friends. She never had boyfriend issues, crush issues, or even friend issues. So she had never felt the emotions, of jealousy, anger or pain. However all of these emotions were suddenly downpouring on her all at once and she didn't know how to handle it. What should she do now? How do people cope with such things? These were new to Khushi. "I guess, I will just wait and watch and see what he does"

Arnav was confuzzled to the max. It was just as if a demon had possesed his wife and made her very agitated. It had all started after that reception they had gone too. Before he could take a step towards their room, the doorbell rang followed by several knocks. Great, right when I wanted to talk to Khushi, Arnav thought as he made his way to open the door to the impatient visitor. As soon as he opened the door, Shikha burst in.

"So where is she?" demanded Shikha.

"What the? Who?"

"Obviously your wife Arnav, what other woman would be in your house? Seriously for a top-notch businessman you are not that smart."

"She is in the bedroom, I'll go call her."

"No it's okay I'll just go see her myself. She probably isn't feeling well and is taking rest."

Shikha made her way to Khushi and Arnav's bedroom. Arnav couldn't believe this girl who his wife called her best friend. She acted as if this house was hers and even worse his wife would ask her for advice. That's like a thief asking a cop on how to be a thief. Totally pointless. Even though she was a completely useless person in his life, today would be the day where she could prove her worth. He knew Khushi would open up to Shikha about what was bothering her so all he would need to do was just see her when she was leaving. What a perfect plan! After all he didn't make Forbes top 30 by doing nothing. Now all he had to do was wait.

Lady Luck didn't seem to be on his side today. He received a call from his office and went to work and when he resurfaced shikha had already gone. How in the world was he supposed to know now? He went to their bedroom and he saw that Khushi was reading over files on the bed.

"All I did was ask if Rucha could stay over you are making it sound as if I am inviting my ex-girlfriend over." Arnav chuckled as he said ex-girlfriend. Just the thought of Rucha and him ever being romantically involved made him smirk. They were just friends although society had other views of their close relationship.

"Well if you already asked her, then we can't say no. I just don't like her, Arnav. You would know that if we actually knew things about each other." She said as passively as she could. To say that Khushi was mad would be an understatement, she was pissed off. First of all, he is having a so-called affair with Rucha and then he invites her over to stay at their house and on top of that he is smirking like an evil genius whose plans to capture the hero is actually working.

"What the-? How did you get from rucha to our marriage? Don't you think you are making a big deal out of nothing Khushi?"

"Nothing, okay so you think everything is perfect with our marriage? Do you know anything about me, what I like to do, who my friends are, do you even know what kind of doctor I am?"

"Of course I do." Arnav was trying really hard to keep his cool, but here she was trying to accuse him of not being a good husband. He knew he wasn't the best husband, but which marriage didn't have problems. Also their union wasn't exactly a great one. He hardly knew Khushi when they were kids. She was kind of strange, he could never decipher her. He was usually good at reading people's emotions. He knew everything about everyone in their small circle of family friends. He knew who had a crush on whom, who the moms were always trying to pair up and who the guys thought were cute, but Khushi's name never came up in any of these lists. When left together at parties together they would make small talk about college, movies (he knew she was Hindi movie fanatic for sure), how life was going, but after a while the conversation stopped because neither knew what to say to the other. However once they went to college, they stopped talking overall. They hardly went to brown parties and plus he had met Rahul and joined his crew so he hardly did see any of his family friends at all. So when the proposal came for his marriage to Khushi, well to say he was shocked would not do justice. He had said yes to this marriage because even though it was arranged, it was better that it was to someone he knew than to someone random. Also his family had been pressuring him to get married ever since his cousin had gotten married. Marriage was all about compromise and that was what he was doing by getting married to Khushi. He didn't know if that's how Khushi felt but he could tell she wasn't exactly dying to get to married to him either so he assumed it had been family pressure.

The way Arnav looked, his hands turning in to fists to control his anger, and his eyes which were once a calm hazel were now replaced by a haze over them that showed his anger. Khushi knew that she had brought him to this state. She had never seen him so angry. He always seemed calm and very put together. She knew that if she said one more line about this dilemma, it would be like pushing him off the edge. Alas, she had started this and now she wanted to finish this.
