Saturday passed by really quickly. The boys had to make arrangements for the next day's special treat. Let's see the brief events that took place that day
IN THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE
"So" asked the Principal "you've managed to get the candidates?"
"sort of" replied Rey
"sort of?" asked the Principal
"Actually sir" said Swayam "we've managed to get candidates but we need your approval as the candidates we've chosen are kind of new to the college"
"but they do have potential" announced Rey interrupting
"and might take some time to adjust with the post as they have to learn everything from the beginning"
"Hmmm" replied the Principal "couldn't you have chosen someone.you know? Who has more experience? I mean.what if they can't cope up?"
"Sir they are very good candidates" said Swayam "we know them really well"
"Yes sir" said Rey "and we really didn't have much time to hold elections or anything"
"But we'll train them" added Swayam "As fast as we can"
"So do we have your approval?" Asked Rey
"Okay fine" said the Principal "If it goes that well with you two, I believe that it will go well with me as well as the rest of the college"
"Thank you Sir" said Swayam
"We won't let you down" added Rey
"You may leave now I've got an important meeting to go to"
The boys left
"Yes" they said and hi fived as soon as they got out
"Yes is right" said Rey "I had really thought we wouldn't be able to convince him"
"True" said Swayam "I'm glad that's over"
"Yea..but come to think of it" said Rey "convincing him wasn't as difficult as convincing the girls"
"Well that's true" replied Swayam "I mean...at least in this case we didn't have to beg"
"Man girls are hard to understand" said Rey "I mean after all that begging, they finally agreed. Why couldn't they have done that earlier?"
"God knows" said Swayam "Speaking of which, I hope tomorrow goes well"
"we'll make sure it does" said Rey "now let's go. We have to reach class at least before it ends"
"Oh yea" said Swayam "Yea let's go"
SCENE SHIFTED TO THE GIRLS
"Seems weird doesn't it?" asked Sharon
"what?" replied Taani
The girls were walking down the hallway towards class.
"For the first time since I've come to this college" said Sharon "I'm feeling..bored"
"You're right" replied Taani "seems like everything's a little too settled today"
"Yea no announcements.no dazzlers..no..." started Sharon as Taani interrupted her
"No Rey and Swayam" she said her face expressionless
They stopped walking.
A wave of memories with Rey passed through Taani's mind, from the day she hit him with her car to them becoming friends to him convincing her to take up that post and so on as she remained quiet for a minute or two.
"You know" said Sharon "I haven't seen them all day"
"Neither have I" replied Taani "maybe that's what's making our day so..."
"Blank?" completed Sharon
"Exactly" replied Taani "and whatever it is, I can't believe we actually agreed to those posts"
"I know right?" said Sharon slapping her forehead "I had completely forgotten about that"
What's it gonna be like? She thought
"What do you think it's going to be like?" asked Taani reading her thought
"I don't know" said Sharon "All work and no play maybe?"
"No I don't think so" replied Taani smiling
"Why?" asked Sharon confused seeing Taani's sudden amused expression
"Well we do have the great doo-doo heads as our bosses" She said as both of them laughed
"You're right about that" said Sharon "nothing's going to be boring when they're around"
"But however they are" said Taani "they do make our day go by quickly"
"Yea..." Said Sharon "I mean , today seems so slow"
"What's the time by the way?" asked Taani
Sharon looked at her watch and was about to say something when she stopped, checked her watch again and her expression turned to that of fear and worry.
"What happened Sharon?" asked Taani concerned by her expression
"You wanted to know what time it is right?" asked Sharon
"Yea" replied Taani "so?"
"It's time for us to die" said Sharon in a whiny sort of voice "we forgot about..."
Taani joined Sharon to look at her watch. A look of shock passed her face.
"Class!" they cried
"What were we thinking standing here and talking?" asked Taani
"Just run" said Sharon "and hope that the teacher is late"
They fled.
"No way" said Taani "It's Devesh sir's class"
"Oh great" replied Sharon sarcastically "now we're dead. He hates latecomers. He's gonna chew us alive!"
"And unless we have an excuse that says we were hit by car on the way" said Taani "we're toast"
SCENE SHIFTED TO THE BOYS
The boys reached class to find that the teacher had already started. When he saw them, he crossed his arms and looked at them angrily.
"Is this the time to come to class?" he asked
"Sorry Sir" said Rey "We had a meeting with the Principal"
All the teachers at St Louis knew that Rey and Swayam were often called to the Principal's office to discuss various events, and due to this, they would be excused between classes or for coming late if that was the case.
"Okay then" he said as his expression softened "You may enter"
"Thank you sir" replied Swayam as they went in.
The first thing that they noticed was that Taani and Sharon weren't there. They looked at each other as they went to their desks. As they sat down, the girls reached the doorway.
"Sir?" they called out
He turned to them and said,
"Welcome. So nice of you to join us. And what's your excuse for the day?"
"Sir...uhh we..." replied Sharon
"we were...umm..." added Taani trying to think of something
"You were?" asked the teacher
"They were with us Sir" said Swayam standing up "They got held back"
Devesh sir didn't believe Swayam. Why would two new students have a meeting with the Principal? He thought
"And why may I ask were they in a meeting with the Principal?" he asked
"Sir Taani and Sharon have been appointed as the new AGS and ACS respectively" replied Rey standing up too "They were called along with us to be informed about it"
The teacher eyed them suspiciously. Then he replied,
"If that's the case, then you can come in"
"huh?" replied the girls still confused
"I said you can come in" he replied
"But-" started Taani as Sharon interrupted her
"Thank you Sir" she said and the both of them went in and sat at their desks.
"Okay so" said the teacher as he turned to the board "Management is.."
Rrriiinnnggg...
"huh!" he said "I guess we'll do it tomorrow"
He picked up his things and left.
The girls heaved a long sigh of relief. The boys came to them.
"So" asked Swayam "How much of a good job did we do today saving you in-"
"Oh thank you thank you thank you" interrupted Sharon hugging him "we were so scared, I mean we actually thought he would report us to the Principal or something and we-..."
She stopped when she realized what she had done and slowly went back.
"I'm sorry" she said "I just.uhh..you know...in the excitement..."
"Oh...ummm...that's...that's okay" replied Swayam.
Both of them turned to Taani and Swayam who were staring at them, smiling"
"What are you two looking at?" Asked Swayam
"Oh nothing nothing" replied Taani "Right Rey?" She looked up at him
"Yea..." replied Rey slowly, lost in her face "You're right"
"huh?" asked Taani
"I mean" said Rey returning back to his senses "Let's uhh go to the canteen or something...shall we?"
He motioned Sharon and Swayam with his eyes to Taani clear enough for Swayam to understand too.
"REY!!" He mock-angrily went towards him
"Uh oh" said Rey as he ran out of class with Swayam close behind him
The girls looked at each other, burst out laughing and ran after them...
