The drive towards the restaurant was a silent one. The car's radio played random old songs but both the souls in the car where lost in their own different world to notice them. One had his full concentration on the road ahead while the other sat on his side grazing the scenery outside.
Both of them unwilling to break the web of silence around them.
Soon they reached their destination and parking the car in the parking lot they entered the place.
Purple orchid know as one of the best restaurants in delhi serving almost all kind of delicious cuisines but was known for the indian food.
Arnav had specifically chosen this place as the last time they had gone out for lunch it was Chinese - his favorite and hence this time he thought they should have Indian - khushi's favorite. It was only fair afterall.
Once seated khushi excitedly ordered her all time favorite food consisting of - dal makhani, 3 butter naans , paneer ki sabzi and some rice. When it came to food khushi forgets everything and keeping all her thoughts aside concentrates on it. She is such a foodie' arnav thought and tried hard not to smile at her child-like excitement. He had chosen to just share what she orders for herself and didn't order anything more. They talked about general things while they waited for the food. Mostly arnav initiating a small conversation asking how she found her co-workers and how her day was etc etc.
Soon the food arrived and they started having it silently.
While having her food khushi's gaze moved around the people around and stopped at a group of giggling and muttering teenagers girls to be precise.
They were looking at the direction of her table precisely at arnav she concluded and reasoned because at their back there was window so they couldn't be looking outside the window right? also on their sides the tables were empty and their gaze were straight since their table was located at the other corner of the place from where it was easier to see their table clearly.
Also they were acting just like how girls at this age do looking at a handsome guy. She knew well because of being at their place when she was a teen. And it was obvious that arnav was handsome very handsome a little voice in her head prompted.
She felt a uneasiness in her heart as a feeling of jealousy filled her.
She was jealous. How dare they look at my husband like that ?
As the thought cross her mind a voice in her head said really your husband ? wasn't he just your friend ?! Their marriage was just was name sake right ?
Try as she might she couldn't get the feeling of jealousy and uneasiness out of her being and her thoughts kept drifting to these feelings quite often throughout the dinner.
It was the first time in a long time when they had such a silent food.

Meanwhile, arnav singh raizada wondered what was wrong with the thing in his left side of chest. His heart had felt a tiny little tug as it started beating frantically the moment he had first seen her walking towards him in her cream and red suit towards him. He felt like he was suddenly seeing khushi in a different light all together. A voice in his head speculated was he starting to like khushi more than a friend ?
And he questioned how because he had though his heart had ceased to exist being caged in the walls build by him. First it was his dad's betrayal and then the affair with lavanya.
Life always proved to him that if he kept his heart open anyone would use it and hurt him, that had lead him to construct tall walls around all four corners of his heart.
He tried to brush any such thoughts away but still that voice in his head kept chanting like mantra you like her...like her a lot more than a friend !

NK designs head office :
She breathed a sigh of relief as she dropped herself unceremoniously on the chair in her cubicle. Work had being hectic and her boss was making her run around and work a lot.
She was tired but she wasn't complaining. It was good to be very busy at times. It didn't let your mind wander around to things you don't want to think about much. She didn't want to think about the past, her mistakes or the heart break.
She hoped with time she would be able to forget everything.
